What do you tell people?

The questions about my how my wife is doing is getting old! Now that the baby could come at anytime the same people seem to be asking them every single day and I have to do everything in my power to not tell them they are an idiot because she was fine yesterday!

So my question is what do you tell people when they keep on asking how your wife is doing during the pregnancy?

I'm due on Friday, but I've looked like I'm going to burst for the last month. My husband gets the same questions every single day when he goes to work. He finally just said, "If anything was happening, I wouldn't be here today. If you see me, she's still pregnant." You could try something similar. "If anything happened, you'd already know about it," etc.

How about 'She's fine. How's your mom doing?'

You'll get that question a lot and just say the same answer lol.

i noticed that the same people ask the same questions a lot too lol i think it's because pregnancy is kind of like a day to day struggle lol and people know that things can change within a day when it comes to pregnancy so i'd just say tough it out and keep telling them the same thing.

I started telling people "Yeah she is in the delivery room right now and starting to push... she is providing me with twitter updates... I just figured I would come into work for the hell of it!"

What's sad is that pretty much everyone BELIEVED me! Then I told them its a joke and I think they got the hint that I'm tired of people asking. The "well I'm here" routine wasn't cutting it for people to stop asking.

I just tried to remember people asked because they cared- it's better than them not asking, right?! Eventually that little baby will pop out and you'll get a new set of questions to repeatedly answer ;)

People mean well - that's what happened when we had our last one seven years ago, that's all people asked, as if there isn't anything else going on in our lives. But the fact is they do it because they care -- which is important. It's annoying, but sometimes, it's asked for them, so they feel like they were a part of the pregnancy - not for us.

Relax, it'll be over soon. :)
