sleeping without a bottle

hi my son is 9mths old and everytime he goes to bed or takes a nap he has to have a bottle or i have to bounce him on my knee is there anyone out there that has any advice ive read books about letting them cry them self to sleep and i just cant let my son lay in bed screaming his brains out anyone got any advice

have you tried feeding him before he take a nap i know how you feel i have that problem but now i olny some times do it at night ooh here a idea that someone gave me wrap him up in a shirt of your with your smell maybe that will work

i have tried feeding before a nap he will scream so much that it makes him sick. the shirt how safe is that with him crawling and moving like crazy wouldnt it strangle him?
