Summer can mean your kids spend even more time than usual on the Internet. If you've got questions about the sites your kids visit, the YouTube videos they watch, or anything else, check out this online Internet safety encyclopedia. It's an awesome tool for teachers and moms alike. http://www.internetsafetyproject.org/wiki

Hi, I would like to ask if there is a topic there about facebook, twitter and other social networking sites? It seems that is is very familiar nowadays with teens and adults. Do you think these websites are safe? Should I use parental control software for my computer at home?

Depending on who your daughter or son friend requests, it can be dangerous. I have been friend requested by random people who I usually report as unwanted requests. Facebook now has this feature where if someone friend requests you and you don't know them and don't ever want them to friend request you again, you can block them. I would suggest just controlling who your child friend requests and adds as friends. Just keep in mind that there are people out there who don't have your child's best interests at heart.
