It was my daughter's first trick or treat. We were hitting up our last house before heading back to a friends house to warm up. I tripped over my own feet and went crashing to the ground while carrying my almost 1 year old daughter. I swear I heard her head hit the concrete and was so upset with myself. My friends husband checked my daughter out an assured me she was fine, while his wife called 911. They helped me stay calm while making sure my husband was aware of what was going on. The ambulance crew checked my daughter out and said there were no signs of injury, only to myself. Thankfully they were there with me to help!!

My mother-in-law really came through for me when I had to be rushed to the emergency to have my gallbladder removed. I had been having issues for months, and one day I passed a stone that became stuck in my common bile duct. I called 911 immediately because I literally thought I was having a heart attack. The Emergency operator called my mother-in-law and she and left her groceries at the register and rushed over to my house to watch my son while I got transported to the hospital via Ambulance.

My husbands grandmother decided to sell the house we were living in (she wasn't living there mind you) and took us to court to get us evicted. We thought we would have at least a month since we had a 8 month old baby at the time....NOPE. My step-dad came right to the house & started loading up our daughter's crib & our bed into his pick-up within an hour of us leaving court. He made 3 trips back and forth (15 mins each way) along with my mom who brought her car to load the small things into. Without them we would've been homeless and on the cold Boston streets in November. We've been here ever since November 2009 and we couldn't be more happy living here.

I had a friend that really came through for me last November. It was the day before Thanksgiving and I was having a miscarriage 8 wks into my third pregnancy. I called this friend up and asked if she could watch my oler 2 kids while I went to the dr.s. She has 3 kids of her own, but her husband was off from work that day so I was hoping she was available. After a half hour , she came and picked up both of my kids and took them to her house. When the dr. confirmed that I had miscarried, I called her and let her know the sad news. She kept my kids till dinner time and even brought us some dinner so I wouldn't have to worry about it. This was such a blessing to me and my husband and I was so grateful for her.

There is nothing my dad can't do. He is 73 but flew in from Hungary and stayed with me for months to get us through the rough first few months with both of my sons when they were born, wherever we happened to be. He moved us here from Europe. He put our furniture together. He cooked and baked for us every day. He'd walk for hours to get to a store to get us something. He made sure my son eats and behaves well. He was always there to change, feed and rock a crying baby for hours at any time of the night. He fabricates anything to make our lives more comfortable, from seemingly nothing. He spots the cutest animals and gets me my favorite flower somehow. He is always there when you need something and just does anything your heart desires by the time you realize you'd like it. Anything. The amount of knowledge and kindness in this man is astonishing. He is so quiet and modest but funny at the same time. He has not had an easy life. I wish I could let him know how much he is appreciated.

My best friend has come through for me so many times it is insane. One that stands out though is the time my husband hurt his back. I called up my best friend at about 9pm to ask her to watch my 1 year old son overnight so I could drive down to where he was working, 4 hours away and take him to the ER. She of course said no problem and I knew she would because that is the kind of person she is. Not to mention that she babysat my first son for a year and a half and my second son for about five months for free! She is truly a remarkable person.

I'm so thankful that time that my family specially my sister was around when my son had a seizure because of high fever. I am so frightened that I can't look at him and they were the ones who stabilized him.
