I was wondering do you have to always register at the hospital your due to give birth at or is does it depend on your OB.
I called the hospital when my doctor delivers, which is Mount Sinai and I spoke to 5 different people and they had no idea what I was talking about, they were acting as if I was speaking a different language. If I have to filled out forms, I would like to do it sooner rather than later, but noone seems to know anything.

Hi. Yes you do register. Most of the time you can do it online. Just go to your hospital's website and see if it's there. Sometimes they call it Hospital Pre-registration, or Registration. It is meant for patients to not worry about filling out forms while they are on labor, or giving out SS#, insurance info, etc. while you are in so much pain. If you can't do it online, call your hospital and ask to be directed to the Admission, and once you have them on the phone, just say your due date & ask if you can register online. If not, ask them if you have to go to the hospital to do the registration. Sometimes if they don't have it online or there's system updates, or the hospital is recently sold, they prefer for you to have the hard copy registration and mail it to them. All OB requires you to register because it's a lot easier for everybody.
