This is probably going to be a TMI Thread, but I wouldnt ask, if I didnt need advice. Pre-pregnancy I was a comfortable "B", almost "C" cup. I wore a bra morning, noon, and night. It only came off when I showered, I even slept in one.
I am now 18 weeks preganant and have already busted (literally) out into a "D" cup. I am finding that I am no longer comfortable wearing a bra. I cant sleep in one, and now I dont even want to wear one during the day. This is a GIANT issue as I am still working full time. The other issue (the TMI) is that my nipples are always erect, and what I believe is causing some of my discomfort. Today, I am at work and wearing a tank top with a bulit in shelf bra, under my T-Shirt (Casual DAY)but the "headlights" are visible. When I leave my desk, I have to fold my arms around my chest to avoid exposure to the world. I know that if I bought a few Sports Bra's that I would probably be more comfortable, but what about the "headlights". Who knows how to get rid of this issue???? I cant tape them down, as they are really really sensitive right now..............HELP!!!!!!!
Anyone else having this issue????

Hi lena241, I'm not having this problem but what about the nursing pads. They are the circular cotton pads that go in bras to help soak up extra milk. Maybe they would stay inside the sports bras over your nipples to help with coverage?

Thats a good idea, I didnt think of that. I will need them post pregnancy anyways, as I plan on nursing.
Thanks

You might want to try getting a professional bra fitting done too. You can get them at most department stores and at lingerie stores. I get a fitting, then go to target to get my bras. Keep in mind that your ribcage may be expanding which will affect the fit of your bras. You may have to buy a few cheap ones in a bunch of sizes/styles as your pregnancy progresses. Getting a pro to tell you what size you currently are really helps though.

I understand how you feel!! I am fed up with these melons (now I know how they got that nickname in the first place!). I was a 38D prior to pregnacy. I hated them then too. But now I am in a siz I didnt even know existed! LOL. Is there any relief in sight??

Stay away from underwires too. I'd suggest getting a fitting and then going to onehanesplace.com, they sell all bras under retail, even the new and current ones from Hanes, Bali and Playtex. I went from a 34A to a 36D between my two pregnancies (currently 34D since there's no baby in my ribcage). I totally feel your pain - this was def the worst part of pregnancy for me.

I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!
Especially with the erect nipples, that's what's causing most of my discomfort.
Thankfully, at work, literally 80% of the girls had their babies within the past 6 months, and it's all girls in the front & guys in the back, so I can scratch my boob (really attractive, I know) and we all can laugh about it... I have been putting lotion on them & it seems to be working...
As for the busting out, I've found that wearing a cami underneath your shirt can help hold them in..

if i were you i would go talk to your doctor about it to see if there is something they can reccomend to you! under wires aren't that comfortable but they sure do keep them up though! i'm getting to the point where my bra totally smashes my nipples and it hurts and then my husband tries to touch them and wonders why they hurt it's like umm.. i need a bigger bra!!

Well I did it. I had to upgrade bra sizes. I am now in a 38D. I am usually in a 34B, so this is a dramatic increase for me. I didnt realize that the issue was that the size C bra I bought just a month ago had gotton to small. I am much more comfortable now. I still hate it by the end of the day, and it has to come off, but I guess these balloons need to breath.
I am also using my Palmers for Stretch Marks on my breasts as well, when they start the "itch". This helps too.
Thanks to all of you for your help and advice.

??? my goodness - go get yourself a bra! There are ones that are like $10. Men are just rediculous sometimes. ;)
I had problems when I bought bras that fit but as soon as I bent over I fell out of them... Some of your "busting out" ladies, make sure you get a full-coverage bra and not something with a demi cup. Those things are only any good for A and B cups.

If you're getting the "muffin top" - if you're falling out the top go for a D cup. If you're falling through the bottom get a tighter band size - a smaller number.
ie, if you're currently in a 36C (for the sake of example) then go for a 34D.

Sept29th:
Yep, they are that big. I know that I grew with my daughter, but not like this. I have a sore back but I dont know if it is the big boobs or the melon in front. I am 5 months right now (20 weeks), and showing like mad. My mom said that she was always bigger with her pregnancys after the 1st, so Im not too concerned. Doctor also says I am measuring just fine, and I have gained 2 lbs to date, so Im good!!!!
I am due on 1/22/09. We are hoping for a boy this time. I have a DD (4 years old)
Good Luck to everyone, and yes.....Everyone should buy a bigger bra with full front coverage. Im so much more comfortable, even if I do look like Im wearing the granny bra.

I am having the same problems! My issue is that before pregnancy I got fitted at a specialty shop and I am a 32G! I didnt believe it myself as I was a size 12 in clothes. But I am now 22weeks along and have outgrown every size everyone carries! I can't even seem to find larger ones online. My sister-in-law told me about these nursing cami/tank tops, and they are way more comfortable but my
"headlights" are showing so I have to wear another cami/tank top over it, under my shirts. It gets hot but atleast it doesn't hurt as much. I don't know what I'm going to do when my milk comes in!
