How are you guys planning on saving for your children's college funds? I have no idea where to start but I try to put away a little money every month... is that enough??

Right now, I have my kids a part of the Gerber Grow Up Plan. It's affordable each month and it's going to leave my kids with some money when they turn 21 (it doubles than). It's not enough to send them through four years but it's enough for a year (or will be).

Hi Kimbert! well in my case I went to upromise.com and I started small there buying this and that on line., I also opened through them a 529 college fund that takes from my checking $50 a month, the months I can invest more I do so. Also if you live in Florida there is a prepaid college fund. Maybe in your state there is something similar. You should check that out also. But watch out cause there is a cut off point. hope that helps you

I was in the Gerber thing but I called them to ask if my son needed it when he was 17 would he get it and they said yes but with penalty. He graduates high school at 17 what if he plans to go straight to college then what?

How did you open the 529 college fund for your child?
