Trying to get pregnant again...

I have a 10 month old. Was on the pill, and stopped about 2months ago. Havent had my period since around christmas(07), but spotted the begining of last month (jan). And still breastfeeding...could that be why? We want another baby sometime this year? what can I do to help myself?

This is not true for *all* moms, but I did hear that if you breastfeed it is harder to get pregnant, not sure how much truth that is to that though one of my friends was actually talking about this the other day. Also the fact that you recently discountined birth control could be another factor in the delay of your menstrual period. I would call my OB, and maybe discuss getting onto prenatal vitamins again in case you stopped taking them.

I have heard also that it is harder to get pregnant when you are still breastfeeding. A friend of mine has a 10 month old and she has not been using any birth control at all and has not gotten pregnant. Her doc said that she could but the chance is smaller while she breastfeeds until she gets normal cycles. Good luck!
