My 9 month old had a fever of 105.8 and is believed to have a bacterial infection,(they took a bacterial culture) so I would think that it would be a bacterial infection. They put him on amoxicillin and every since then my 9 month old is the baby from H-LL.> I can't look at him , I can do nothing and he cries or screams all the time. Before this he was so funny, laughed all the time smiled now he does none of that. Has any one every experienced this behavier before witht he medicine. Hw has been on this since Friday 8/1, does it get better and will he be the good baby ever again? Please can some one enlighted me on this?

I know where you are coming from!My son had a few infections this winter (15 months now)and was on Amox each time;all i have to say is it gets worse before it gets better I think it took 7/8 days for him to be back to normal!I actually brought him back to the doc'c at day 5 cause i figured they had mis-diagnosed him, well it seemed like it was getting worse! But they informed me that Amox is a anti biotic that takes many days to start working:(
So,It could just need a couple more days before you'll start seeing a change(sorry i wish I could give you better news)there is a light at the end of the tunnel though:) are you still giving him tylenol or motrin?I remember I was counter dosing the 2 for a few days,It was bad for a few days and tylenol takes away fever but doesn't do much for pain where as motrin doesn't really do anything for fever but takes away the pain(my reason for giving both)and it was ok-ed with his ped.Anyways,I hope this helps you!Good luck!
