I had a very hard time potty training my twin girls. When I finally started giving them an m&m each time they went, that really helped. They're finally totally day-time potty trained now that they're 4! Don't worry--everyone says they'll get it when they're ready... and it's true. : ) Some kids just potty train later than others.

I'm a boy and I still remember potty training...There are photos of me asleep on the potty chair that I was forced to stay on until I did my duty. They won't understand what's going on until they have time and experience...boys are stupid, unfortunately! We only react on the immediate moment and are incapable of understanding other peoples' purpose at that age and forever.lol

I remember my parents used "Mr. Happy". He was essentially a brown paper bag clipped to the shower rail with a big smile on the front. He contained cheap little toys and whatnot. I still remember my mom saying that Mr. Happy loves it when I used the potty. (sounds a bit creepy in retrospect) But it worked quite early for both of us kids.

I think it is harder to train boys than girls because their bodies are different than ours. Little girls pick up faster because their bodies work like mom's. My son, who is 18m, will use the potty with DADDY, but not with me. I guess there is something special about standing on the little potty stool and peeing like a big boy with DADDY. Have DADDY try to get them in to it.
