Safety 1st monitors, though expensive, are not manufactured well enough to be expected to last more than 1 year, and the company will not stand behind their product. I want to ensure as many consumers as possible read this important message before deciding on which baby monitor to purchase.

We've got the Summer video monitor and love it. It's been going strong for almost two years now with multiple uses every day. We love that we can see what our daughter is doing instead of just listening. Plus it's easy to clip to your belt to take with you.

That's the same one we have. That's GREAT to hear that yours is still working fine after two years!!! Thanks!

I don't know what the "name" of ours is, but we have a very basic Safety 1st Monitor system, and it hasn't been shut off for 5 years (seriously!) and it still works like it did the first day.

We also have a safety first monitor,It's second hand from when my FIL was sick(before he died my fiancee use to have it in his room incase his dad needed him throughout the night)My MIL gave it to us when we found out we were pregnant and it still works..I'd say it's about 6 yrs old!

I have had a Safety First monitor and it was pricey. It did not last more than a year and we always had static. We tried moving it and nothing seemed to work. We finally just gave up and stopped using it.
