Daughter is so hairy,can others relate?

My beautiful, 9 year old daughter is very hairy. Her arms, legs and lower back are just covered with long, fine, blondish-brown hair. She must take after her Dad's side. She is getting teased at school and now wants to wear long sleeves and pants. I don't know what to say to her. Her arms are the real problem.I don't think I have ever seen another girl with arms like hers. Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas would be so helpful.

My cousin had that problem, she would get teased on a daily basis, they would call her hairy monkey, poor child. I told my aunt to shave her arms but she didnt want to do that so she only trimmed them. It helped because she no longer gets teased, kids could be so harsh.

a friend of mine had that same problem growing up, luckily she grew out of it. Children can be some mean when they see someone different. I grew up with an oddly shaped nose. i was teased consisntantly. it had major effect on my self esteem. i recommend talking to her ped. see what she recommends is safe. as long as it is safe to remove the hair DO IT. it will make her feel so make better. young girls have enough pressure to be thin and perfect without having excess hair on to p of it. please remember that is not vanity if you are doing it to improve her selfworth. good luck with it
