Just wanted to see how all you May ladies are doing. It's been so quiet on the forum lately. I know we're all getting ready for our little ones to arrive, very soon. :)

Dustin's doing great and so am I. My husband and I are slowly getting everything moved from the garage to the apartment since I just moved. I met my new OB last week and we took our childbirth class Saturday and the breastfeeding one tonight. We're getting close, 5 weeks for us...

Cass,
I am glad you are with your husband again, and just in time too.

For me it seems waiting is now the hardest part.
The room is set up, Samuel's clothes and bedding are all washed, and last of the baby registry is being filled and shipped. I have cleaned the house half a dozen times and I am more anxious and nervous about waiting another 3-4 weeks as oppossed to the birth itself.

I did find out that both my mother and sister are planning to fly out after the birth. It will be good to see them both again. 1 yr for my mom, and 2 yrs for my sister [minus the video calling via webcam]
My husband is getting excited too I can tell. He is kissing the belly more and cradleling it in his hands when he hugs me. I took him to the Babies R US store last weekend to look around and he would come around the corner with little onesies with this big grin on his face, " Robots, this one has robots on it" :)

I am including a pic of the finished baby's room, I am sharing this with as many people as possible because I am so proud of how it turned out. The walls are still bare but I don't think it will matter in the grand scheme of things. ;)

Jena - The room is so adorable. You did a great job! I know you've probley heard this but try to relax some. Have you started Samuel's scrapbook? Maybe that will give you something to do to keep you busy for the next few weeks. Good luck!

My husband's doing the same sort of thing as your husband. I thought he was just excited since we're finally here and he's seeing everything continuously but I guess it's just a Daddy thing. :)

I am 37 weeks and 2 days (had to throw that in!) Doc said today that I am 50% effaced but not dilated yet. So anytime now up to a few more weeks. I agree the waiting is the worse. I started maternity leave a week ago and have kept myself so busy that I've had no time to relax, it's starting to catch up to me. I hope to get a few more things done and get lots of relaxing in before she arrives!

Although I guess I've been nesting I have not had that spike in energy that they say comes before birth. Maybe just cause I've been too busy!

Hey, ladies, I'm just dropping in to let you know that both Jboz and I have had our babies. I guess I was the first May mom. If only I had been able to hold on until May! My Anna and Joseph were born last Thursday and are still in the NICU. They're doing well but it's hard. And Jboz's Charlie was born yesterday and apparently has red hair. :) I'm sure she'll be back soon to tell us about the birth, as will I. I hope you're all doing OK and enjoying the precious last weeks of pregnancy.

<(o.o)> Big Hugs <(o.o)>

That is so wonderful.
I had my 36 week checkup yesterday and as it turns out I am actually 37 weeks ( well 19 days; until due date). So anytime now.

A funny story:
I was on the phone with my sister in Guam when two packages arrived at my home. I was so excited wondering what was purchased off the registry now, and so heavy too. When I opened the packages I squealed with delight and laughed for about 2 minutes. It was diapers and wipes. Nick's grandmother bought us a 'CASE' of Diapers and wipes each. :D My sister and my husband both laughed so hard at my enthusiasm. I was so excited because that was the last thing on my mind before the baby came. Now, I will be laid up, feet elavated, crotcheting his baby blanket until he arrives.

Congratulations for all those may moms that recieved their bundles early. While some of us are still waiting for ours, it won't be long now ladies.

Does anyone else find it strange that the first 8 months flew by and the final days seem to be dragging on at a snail's pace?

Well, I had an appointment today. Dr said anyday now, I'm dialated 1.5. Unfortunately Dustin's transverse/breach. We have a week to hope that he turns before my Dr schedules me for a C-section. Not happy about that. So it looks like Dustin may be coming earlier then we expected.

Nauseus (sp?), sleepless, not sure why.
Woke up at 12:13am thought I would see if there was anything new with you guys.
I keep wanting to go to the hospital to see if these are real or fake labor pains but I have to keep reminding myself, "When there real I'll know."
Nervous, excited, and I completely know why.

Jena - I completely understand how you're feeling. I'm experiencing the same symptoms, plus all the contractions, cramps and general uneasiness and anxiousness. Luckily for me, my husband was an EMT for 10 years so he kinda knows what to look for and so far everything is just false labor.

It looks like we'll be delivering Dustin either the 14th or 17th by c-section so not long now.

Gabriela - How did the consignment shopping go? Everything set?

ahhh... everyone understands my situation! I so want hold my baby. Cass I just want you to know that my mother had three c sections and keeps telling me that I should do the same. She said it was so much better and quicker and you recover easier because you aren't stretched out. I am so not electing to have a c section but if you have to have one it could be the best thing ever.

Dr. Appt was last tues. I am 1-2 cent dilated and 70% effaced so at least there is progression. I am feeling a little rushed now though. My sister had to make plane reservations so I am suppossed to have 'popped' by the 16th on my actual due date. Still 9 days away :(. I am seriously missing real sleep now. He hasn't dropped yet I have been told because of the feeling that he is all up in my lungs, but I feel he may just be that big I don't know. The day is beautiful so I am going to head out for a long walk and see if I can get things moving. I feel a great sense of love for all of you, going through this together. We are even closer to our due dates now. Rememebr to be positive and laugh when your able.

This is probably going to be my last post:
On May 7th at 11:38pm we welcomed a 8.2 lb Samuel into the world. I had my water popped to progress things along but was able to deliver vaginally. I Have mostly recovered and should be going home tomorrow Afternoon. They want to recheck his circumcision in the morning. Thank you all for the love and support through all of this. I know every one of your bundles will be as beautiful and perfect. Best of luck to all those patient mothers still waiting.

God Bless...

im 38 weeks as of sunday.... and im still waiting i hope hailey comes soon because im going krz. she is due on the 23rd... but i want her out now. its driving me nuts more not to know when she is going to come... i havent schedule to get labor induced or a c-section so its all unknown to me as to when she is going to come. i thinkt that you guys are so lucky to know when you are having your babies! my dr. wants to leave it all to my body and fate. i hope everything goes well with all of you and just keep in touch somehow...

Gabriela - That's so funny. I wish I could have left this birth up to my body and fate. I was just thinking that you're so lucky.

I know a c-section is the best thing for Dustin and that everything will work out in the end but I really wish he would turn. Nothing has worked! My chiropractor can't even get him to turn. He's taking after his daddy already.

Enjoy these last few days ladies. I'll be praying that everything goes well for all our deliveries and subsequent changes in all of our lives.

Wow, I can't believe everyone is having their babies already. I am at 38 weeks and feeling miserable with the weight and braxton- hicks contractions. I so want to hurry up and have him already but just like every other male in my family... Andrew is going to come when he is good and ready and not a minute before. I think this is because he knows he doesn't have to really be here until the thirtieth. My mom keeps pushing a c section on me because she says it is so much easier. I hope that fact makes you feel better about it Cassagc but I know that I want to have my child as normally as possible but if I have to have one I am prepared to deal with that. Love and hope for all of us and our children... Oh and our men too (they might not have to deal with it 24/7 but they do because they love us. GO DADS!)

Well ladies, just wanted to make one last post before Dustin arrives. We go in at 0500 for our c-section at 0700. I can't wait and neither can my husband. He's so cute, he woke me at 0730 this morning to tell me "this time tomorrow I'll be holding our son". Absolutely overjoyed :). Hope all you ladies still waiting on your LO's to arrive enjoy the last few days/weeks of quiet and have easy births with beautiful healthy LOs.

Oh!!!! I so hope everything is wonderful for you. Get plenty of rest in these last few hours and think happy thoughts. I just talked to my mom about her c sections again and asked her about what she felt with my brother which was induced... She said it was so much easier. All she had to do was lie there and let her doctor and her body do what needed to be done. At this point I am willing to do the same just so I can hold my child already! All the love and hope is going out to you and yours. Let us know how everything went!!!

Well ladies, everything went well and Dustin has arrived. It's wonderful. I'm still struggling to recover from the surgery but am healing beautifully. Dustin is absolutely the handsomest baby I've ever seen (little biased). He is so easy. We've been having some trouble with breastfeeding but now that my milk is coming in, things are getting better. I hope everyone is still doing well and enjoy the rest of your pregnacies. Life is amazing once your LO is here but so tiring.

I'll tell more about it once I'm not so sleep deprived...
