Mattress Question

Okay I suppose its more like a Matress Poll but whatever. Which kind of crib Mattress to all of you moms and dads reccomend? Did you go all out and get a super-expensive one, or did your local Wal-mart have what you needed?

I just realized that I dont have a crib mattress. LOL. I was hoping not to spend a fortune, so if you could point me in the direction of a good quality mattress for cheap, I'd appreciate it!

We bought a middle of the road Sealy mattress from Burlington - same place we bought the crib and other nursery furniture. It ran us about $120. She started sleeping on it at 8weeks and now at 22mo we've never had any issues with it.

I'm pretty sure this is the one we bough three years ago for our first son. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2266099 It was a good price and has held up well for us. It has been used for 3 years straight and two kids. My oldest was a big boy. It is still like new. It doesn't sag at all and isn't cracked (friends had a mattress that cracked all along the seam and the plastic pulled up, I'm assuming in part from their kids jumping in the crib). I'd definitely recommend it.

we bought the walmart mattresses. the twins have been sleeping on them since they came home with no problems whatsoever. i'm sure we'll buy some nicer, softer ones when they're a bit older but see no reason to at this point, especially seeing how they sleep just as well on the pad in their pack-n-plays when we're travelling.

My crib and mattress were given to me used, but very well taken care of. The mattress looks and feels like the mattresses found at Walmart. It is fairly firm, which is great b/c my daughter sleeps on her belly.
