Hey Everyone! I'm a new mommy, well next week i will be. My daughter is due on the 18th. I've been cleaning things like crazy, folding baby clothes, buying everything in the book, and i still don't feel ready. Is this normal, am i just freaking out? I feel like im already not doing enough and the beby isn't even here yet. Can anyone relate?

Yes! Before I had our daughter, I cleaned her room 10 times, reorganized her closet everday after work, and so on. I sterilized her pacifiers, I washed her bedsheets, AHHHH! I bought everything! Teethers, pacifiers, $300 dollar jogging stroller, womb monitor, womb thing for babys belly to "Reduce Colic", cute outfits. I went shopping every other day at the mall. $72 in Gap here, $80 in the Childrens Place, $125 in Carters[I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!] I bought everything!

Hi, Lady Eku.

Welcome! And yes, you are 100% normal. The week before I had my baby, I felt like I was running a marathon. I wanted everything to be perfect. When I was admitted to the hospital a little early, I literally thought, "Now? Can't it wait a few days?" because I still had stuff to do. Knowing what I know now, if/when we decide to crank out baby #2, I'm going to spend the final weeks of my pregnancy with my feet up, eating donuts!

Hope you enjoy the boards! We talk about anything and everything around here...

Nesting is a perfectly normal period just before your baby is born. Cleaning and preparation is something we seem to do in excess during the last couple of weeks -- I think it's nature's way of making up for the total lack of time you will have to do these things once baby arrives. :P
