Hi everyone! i'm a wee bit confused. this is my 4th child and I've already started losing big globs of that nasty mucuos plug and im at week 30!! Its not the bloody show cuz its just yellowish. I am trying to find stuff online and so far ive read its normal (what isnt normal??) and to be aware of any further labor symptoms. I hate being told every symptom is normal and I hate calling the doc and being told to relax. I've had a few braxton hicks contractions (my back didnt hurt) and have been pretty icky feeling lately (like I have the flu but without the coughing) so idk. I think im in my paranoid stage of pregnancy. Anyway if anyone else has this issue or can help i'll be checking this on saturday. Its my MIL computer cuz mines being a jerk. lol

thanks all!

By all means, WELCOME! Join me in my club :).

This is also my 4th child, and I'm 33 weeks along, measuring 36 weeks. I lost my plug several times in my 3rd pregnancy (I started dilating at 29 weeks), but the doctor assured me that my body would re-create a plug. As much as I wanted to go full term, that was not what I wanted to hear. This pregnancy, I haven't noticed anything resembling a plug. But then again, I haven't really looked (don't want to get my hopes up, because then I would be selfish, wouldn't I?)

This may be TMI, but I've also had the flu-like symptoms. Mostly out the other end, but I've had severe nausea all of a sudden today, when I eat. I know the baby has dropped, but I don't think he's "engaged." I am going to ask to be checked at my appt on Thursday to see if I'm effacing at all or dilating. I have had a lot of BH, but they were all painless. I had 2 random and painful contractions 2 nights ago--they woke me up, and felt like I was having back labor. But I didn't have anymore after that, so it could be associated with the flu-like stuff? I've been drinking lots of fluids to keep from being dehydrated, but geeze. I can't go anywhere because I'm always in the bathroom. I may have to start carrying around a porta-potty in my car. Like one of my other kid's potty seats or something.

I'll let you know what the doc says as soon as I know more. Did you have your other kids early, or have preterm labor symptoms with any of them? I had to go on "modified bed rest" for the last one (because I was dilating too early) until 36 weeks, and I had to take some sort of a pill that was supposed to stop smooth muscle contractions. I could never do a full bed rest, as you probably understand--too many kids running around. So I do a "chair rest" routine. :)

my first two were 10 days early from there due dates. The whole idea of regrowing the mucuos plug is just nasty lol. To think I may get the pleasantness (is that a word even) of seeing that nasty thing everyday. My 3rd baby was a scheduled induction because I had strep B and my labors were fast so they made sure I got the antibiotics. Today I'm EXTREMELY dizzy and lightheaded so I might just go in since I dont see my doc until next week. I even got sent home from work because i looked horrible. IDK I think I'm just gonna go in just to get the worry over with.

aimee_4,

That's the best thing to do. I probably drove my OB/GYN crazy (as I do my pediatrician now :P) but I figure better safe than sorry.
