I am new to this forum. On Tuesday I will be 13 weeks pregnant. I am already showing a great deal, I feel like a science experiment. Put me under a bunsen burner and watch me grow. I know everyone changes at different rates during pregnancy, but really, is this normal? The funny thing is the scale has barely moved, so it's not like I'm overdosing on Big Mac's, and Whopper's. Not only that but my stomach won't stop gurgling which I understand is due to baby movement? I thought I wasn't supposed to feel that for a few weeks yet?

Probably you are not feeling the baby - you are feeling gas and bowel movements. Less romantic, but very real.

Some of the added size is bloating and gas. I had the same issue - I got a tummy WAY before the baby should be viewable - and so I assumed I had put on a ton of weight, and I had not. It was just the bloat.

That's OK. I pretend my tummy is my baby and rub it all the time. People don't need to know it's not.

jreiter, I'm almost 14 weeks and have a tummy. I think it depends on your size and yes, gas, bloating etc. I have only gained 5 pounds too. But like MyBodyIsATemple said, "I pretend my tummy is my baby and rub it all the time"...me too! (lol)

I'm 14 weeks & I feel the SAME way. My pants don't button! I have only gained 1.5 pounds. I don't understand how that is possible. Looking at me you would think I have packed on at least 6 to 7 pounds (if not more). As far as the gurgling, with me it's non-stop. If it's not from gas, it's from hunger. I tossed my hands up weeks ago & yelled "I surrender". I figure what will be, will be.

Your not the only one feeling that way. (hope it makes you feel a little better)
