I am expecting baby #4 on May 23, 2010. My other children were full-term babies. However, I've had a history of rapid labor (1st labor took 3.5 hours, 2nd - under 2 hours). With my first child the water broke as I entered the hospital, and I delivered in less than 1 hour from that moment. During my last pregnancy the OB convinced us to schedule the induction. It felt comfortable not to have to worry about delivering in a car or in a parking lot and not to have to time the contractions which could be as close as 2 minutes apart. On the other hand, I could not help feeling sad about cheating my baby's fate so to speak. This time around I really wish to have a naturally occurring birth. Does anyone else here had rapid labor and managed to get to the hospital on time? If so, what helped?
