I am currently about 5 weeks pregnant and I experienced a minor electric shock while changing a light switch plate. I am concerned that I have harmed the baby--has this happened to anyone else?

Hasn't happened to me, but my former roommate's brother got a serious case of sibling rivalry (he's an 8 yr old inside a 24 yr old body) and set off an entire major block of firecrackers inside the house. I asked my doctor about it; she did check to make sure that the baby was okay and reassured me that he would be fine, especially with the fact that I left and stood out in the fresh air until the house was clear. My best advice, talk to your doctor to see what he/she might say.

OMG!! Way off topic, but is it your former roommate because of the fireworks thing? Between mood swings and pregnancy hormones, I likely would have ... um... let's just say... not handled it well.

haha no. the roommate is both my and my fiance's best friend, and we weren't going to let his brother come between that. We did move out though, just so our friend wouldn't be bothered with the craziness of having another newborn around, he's already having enough trouble dealing with trying to see his own after his ex moved out of state with his daughter. That and I really don't want his brother to be around influencing my son.
