Digital photo storage?

I am trying to figure out how everyone is storing their digital images. We have three children and thousands of digital images we need to save . In our investigation I found out how vulnerable these images are to most storage methods. I am in the process of creating a storage service and need a bit of input from people so I created a brief survey - all anonymous - and would appreciate any feedback.
