I just watched the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and am now convinced I need a swing for my 2-week-old. Does anyone have any recommendations? What about the Graco Lovin' Hug Infant Swing? Anything better?

We have the papasan and love it. I don't think our baby is going to be in for long since the seat is so small. :(

I started off with a basic, cheap swing and after a few weeks i had to update beacuse my son loved it so much we were going through batteries like crazy. I recommend getting a swing that plugs into the wall. We had the Rainforest swing by fisher-price and we LOVED it! good luck

We also have the papuson & love it! It can craddle swing or normal swing just in case your baby prefers one over the other. I recommend getting it at a consignment place or a maybe friend instead of buying one. We always think our baby needs NEW things but gently used baby things are PERFECT b/c we know they don't get used very much before their outgrown. My son really likes the swing.

We had a hand me down aquarium - cheap but it worked, even though it went through batteries like crazy!

Best advice - get one that can be plugged into the wall! How have you gone 2 weeks without a swing?! :) I think my daughter lived in her swing until she got too heavy for it. Only place she would sleep the first few months with her colic.

Good luck!

The Baby Papasan swing is the greatest invention ever....I reccomend it to everyone. It is very cushy and comfy....my daughter would nap for hours in it. If I didn't have it I don't know how I would have gotten anything done. Heather

My son has the whole Fisherprice rainforest collection..(swing, bouncy ect..) It's great. It swings side to side and back and forth, has an automatic mobile, plays 4 different settings of music and the best part is it plugs in! No waisting batteries!!! It's really easy to assemble and I bought mine from Walmart for like 90bucks. :-D

We had the Fisher Price Rainforest Swing, bouncy seat, and jumperoo for my son. He was not able to use the jumperoo until he could hold up his neck (If you have a very energetic, active baby I would recommend getting this I don’t know what I would have done without it. It even puts him to sleep sometimes when he gets so excited and jumps for 10 minutes straight.)

The Rainforest Swing was awesome, it plunged into the wall went side to side and front to back. My son loved swinging side to side as an infant and when he was about 4 months we had to switch it to swing front to back. A definite feature I would recommend in a swing. I even loved the bright colors and the different songs and sounds it made did not make me go crazy after the 100th time hearing them.
