on Feburary 15th I went for a normal OBGYN appointment and my ultrasound without a heartbeat informed me that I had miscarried at 12 weeks. I got a D&C the next day and my husband and I both very much want to try again now. I know my doctor told me to wait at least three cycles or else the risk of miscarriage would be very high but I have done tons of reading on this and have found very different answers to how long I should wait and why.
Was anyone else in this situation?
What did you do?
What did your doctor tell you to do?
I would really appreciate any and all advice!

its kind of upsetting that over sixty people have looked at this post, but not one has posted a reply.

I also had a miscarriage and had a D & C done the next day. I was told by the doctor that I could start trying right away but there would be a higher risk of miscarriage. He also suggested waiting 3 months before trying again. I'm not sure if this is valid, but I have seen someone post that the reason they say to wait 3 months after a D & C is because they pretty much completely clean out the inside of your uterus and by waiting 3 months, it allows the lining to thicken and get back to normal. If you have a natural miscarriage (no D & C) you can start trying right away. I decided to wait the 3 months - I was very upset about losing the first baby and the thought of going through it again right away was too hard. Also, it gave me some time to heal (physically and emotionally) as well as get myself in shape. After waiting 3 months, it took another 3 before I got pregnant and my daughter was born healthy. Ultimately the decision will be up to you and what you think is best! Good luck!
