belly casts?

Does anyone know where I can find the materials to do a belly cast besides shopping online for it? would Michaels or jeffery allens have it? I just hate the idea of putting any of my financial info on the net.

You can get all the materials from Michaels. You can get rolls of plaster gauze, all you have to do is unroll it and cut it to size (probably about 6-8 inches or so). My mom gets it from there all the time to do her face masks and when she did my belly casting. When she did mine I was leaning against the counter so that there would not be any chance of "distortion" (since everything shifts when you lay down). It takes about 3 or 4 layers so get it thick enough that you can sand it when it's dry without it cracking. Don't forget tho' to thoroughly coat your belly in vaseline before you start applying the strips. This will keep the plaster from sticking to you and it will keep your belly from drying out.

Materials needed:
Vaseline
Rolls of plaster guaze (I would suggest getting atleast 5 or 6 rolls just to make sure you have enough. You can always return what you don't use that's unopened)
a small-medium sized bowl of warm water to dip the strips in. (cold water doesn't allow it to "paste" up properly).

That's a really good idea! I'm not to the point of showing enough for a belly cast, but I'll definately keep this idea in mind!

As for finding the stuff for it, you could try Michael's, Craftsmart, or even a Super Wal-Mart might have what you're looking for. It's called Plater of Paris, I believe... or you could use paper mache(sp?)
