My toddler has bad breath, especially in the mornings. The dentist told me that he can't use toothpaste until he learns how to spit because of the fluoride. We have been practicing how to brush teeth with water, but obviously this does nothing for his bad breath. Any suggestions?

There are infant gum cleansers out there that are safe for kids 6+ months, but you might want to check with a different dentist. Ours told us to use kids toothpaste in a small amounts. Bad breath can be a sign of poor gum health and you don't want unnecessary damage to his teeth

Yes. Babies can have bad breath even though they do not have teeth because most bad breath is caused by bacteria on the top of the tongue. You can often see this bacteria a "white stuff" on the tongue. This can be removed with an OraBrush tongue cleaner because it has very soft bristles and a scraper. It will not hurt your tongue or your baby's tongue.
