From your experience with siblings and friends, or maybe just between your own children, what is the best age difference between two kids? My son is 5 months old, and I want to have someone for him to grow up with. My thought was start when he is 2.5 yrs old so that he will be at least 3 years old when the next baby comes. Just want to know others experience in this field...

My sister and I are one year and 11 months apart. We have always been best friends, had most of the same friends, and it was easier on my parents because as soon as I was outgrowing clothes she was growing into them! Our only problem was once we had a crush on the same guy while we were in middle school--funny right? I would not want it any other way. I loved having someone I could be best friends with and talk to about everything!

Really everyone I think is going to have a suggestion. What it comes down to is they WILL play together as long as you involve them both. When the little ones a baby have the older one help out. And when the older ones at the table drawing let the little one in on the action. My kids are 18 months apart ones 3 and ones 18 months. The get along great! I am dealing with all the issues at once. Teething, diapers, potty trainning. Its all fresh in my mind. My hubby his sisters are all 5 years apart. 25, 30(my hubby), and 35. his mom said they always got along really well, plus the oldest was 10 so she was a really but help. No matter the age differece you are going to have fights, lol good luck with your decision.
