My husband and I have been married for 6 years, are in our 30's, own a home, are financially stable, and are finally ready to ttc, or so I thought. I went off the pill a couple of months ago, he even bought me pregnancy books and seems generally excited. But if there is even a chance that I might be ovulating, he freezes. We have no problems any other time. He's been telling me he's been ready for the last year, but now I'm not so sure since his body seems to be physically rejecting even the idea that I might get pregnant. I'm not trying to pressure anything, not charting, or taking ovulation tests. I'm not sure what to think but I'm getting into my mid 30's and don't want to wait anymore.

Hi! My husband & I are also TTC. I know you said you aren't charting or taking ovulation tests, but are you telling him when you think you might be ovulating? That might be pressure enough! I would suggest not even talking about TTC for a few months. Still have unprotected sex, but don't make a big deal out of it! That will also help keep your stress level down about it making it easier to conceive! Good Luck!

He had done his own research and was guessing the time frame. We had a long talk because I couldn't understand why he was fine the night before. His explanation is he simply " talked himself out of it". I haven't made a big deal out of it but the irony is that he may have talked himself out of it for nothing. I tested yesterday since I've been feeling "off" for a few days( 5 days before my period is scheduled to start) and I got a very faint line. It could have been evaporation ( I really don't think so since it was only a few minutes)so I'm going to test again on Sunday to confirm before I tell him.

I agree with apemberton don't tell him when you are ovulation just do something special for him like him a nice dinner or where some sexy clothes try to get in the mood with out any pressure about ttc and who knows that might be your night to get pregnant.
