Registering

This is my first pregnany and I really don't have to many recent friends that have had children. I am 4 months pregnant and was wondering when I should start ordering furniture for the nursery and registering? Anyone have any ideas?

As I've said in a previous post, I'm a bit superstitious, so I would probably wait until about 7 months. That way you're pretty safe that everything is okay. Congratulations!!!

I waited until I hit that 26 week mark...my brother was born that early and survived and thrived. I had some bleeding at about 7 weeks that made me nervous about miscarriage (even though every ultrasound, even that early showed a STRONG heartbeat), but when I got to about 26 weeks, I knew the gender of the baby and knew she had a much better chance of survival at that stage.

You can always start a registry now for the basics...the furniture, burp cloths, diaper cans, etc...stuff that is not gender specific, then update the registry once you find out what you are having.
