I think your sister and her husband are taking the right steps in trying to correct this problem. I think writing a friendship card was a good idea. They should've done this a lot sooner because this strain in your relationship might not have gotten as far as it's gotten now. The cousin needs to know that he needs to be nice and play with your daughter otherwise no going to grandma's house. If any bullying continues, he should be disciplined for it. Wouldn't it be nice to have family holiday gatherings where you don't have to stress about the kids not getting along? Try to help out your sister in getting this worked out asap.

I don't understand why your sister and her hubby are "hippies". Maybe they are a little lax in discipline or maybe they just happen to have a more difficult child to deal with. Boys tend to be more aggressive but it's up to them to keep them in line and teach them right from wrong.
