my sons friends insist that Gatorade , an athletes drink. is good for babies , even a doctor has told them that it is akin to pedialite <sp> ,a drink for children with diarhea/dehydration . I am a non believer until i hear/see it myself (grinning) so i called the Gatorade company with exactly that Q. and i was told it is NOT good for babies/children it is made for adults , the added electrolytes and sodium content are very high that they do not recommend giving it to babies/children..... anyone heard differently? i would like opines on this

I am glad that you contacted the company to really see what they said. My dr told me it is similar. It is cheeper then the piedilyte, so we used gatorade. We did however dilute it 50/50 or even more. I don't give my kids a whole lot of koolaid and soda. But if I do is it diluted, no kid needs all that sugar, and it is a good way of teaching them how to drink from a cup.

Yeah, look at the sugar content! At least water it down.
