My son is 26 mo. old he normally sleeps through the night and goes to sleep very easily. Lately 1 to 3 nights a months he's been waking up, nothing is wrong and goes back down than awake again 1 1/2 hours later. He goes to bed 7:30-8:00, last night his first time was 10:00 than again at 11:36. It seems to always be when there is a full moon, does this sound silly or does anyone else have the same thought. How do I handle this one?

I have problems with my 3 y/o sleeping. She was always a great sleeper and slept through the night since I brought her home from the hospital. When she was around your sons age she started waking up and sneaking out to sleep on the couch or sneaking into my room and sleeping on my floor every night. She has also started making odd requests at bedtime. I think it's the age. A lot of people also say it has to do with insecurities (I don't think so though). I am just firm with my daughter that she needs to sleep in her own bed and I explained to her that she is a big girl now. It's been a couple months now since I layed the law down with her and she is great about sleeping in her own bed and only occasionally sneaks out now. I also noticed that she was waking up multiple times like your son is and I moved her bedtime to 9 with at least a hr nap during the day and it really helped a lot. Try moving his bedtime back. The problem may just be that he isn't tired enough to go to bed so early and is waking up multiple times because he isn't tired.
