Hitting and biting

My son is 26 months, he still bites and now he is on to hitting. When he hits he will slap you and say bad or your mean. How do I handle this?

Again my daughter went through this phase around that age. I explained to her that it is not nice to do that to people and she is hurting when she does it. I would then put her on time out. I would make her sit on the couch, turn off the tv, and leave her alone but stay within sight or hearing range. The lack of attention worked wonders. Toddlers do these things to get attention and if you do exactly the opposite of what they are expecting they realize that they need to find a more positive way to get your attention.
