My DD recently reached her 6-month mark, and I have successfully been pumping for her nearly the entire time. I struggled so much with breast feeding for the first six weeks or so; due to a physical deformity I could only supply her with about half her nutritive needs. I was pumping after each breast feeding session and taking supplements to increase my supply. I eventually started pumping exclusively, which has worked well for me.
I never thought I would make it this long. I am so thrilled to have been giving my daughter breast milk for six months. I thought I would be satisfied and stop once I made it to this milestone, but I think I can keep it up for a few more months.
Sorry for the self-congratulatory nature of this post, I just wanted to share my happy news.
