I can't decide if i want my 6 month old son to get a picture with a Santa at the mall. I'm not sure if he should because he is so small. I was wondering how old your kids were when you got their pictures taken with Santa and how you guys feel about the topic.

I had pics of both of my girls about 1 year on. they are kinda funny to look back on, the years they screamed, etc. My littlest, now 8, doesn't care to see Santa since she was 1 so I am glad I got her pics when I did. My oldest, now 13 had 2 months to 6. It is up to you but maybe with the flu season this year you should avoid it? tough call now that I think about it. Sorry, i hope i didn't make you lean towards no. I would be sad if I missed those pics!

Last year at Christmas my son was four months old.
We didn't get his Santa pictures ONLY because my husband was gone. We didn't celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving at all because our family wasn't together. My husband got home Dec. 20th, and it was pretty much too late to get Santa pictures then. If he had been here, we would have done it.
This year my son is 16 months at Christmas, and we're definitely getting them done.

Our girls were just barely under one the first time my mom took them. It was just screaming. They did the same thing last year too. I feel that two screaming Santa pics is enough. Especially with the flu season, I think we're going to skip it and wait until the girls want to sit on Santa's lap- and will smile and be good about it.

My daughter was 2 months old her first Christmas, I got her picture taken with Santa. My son wil be 10 months his first Chirstmas. I plan on getting both his and my daughter (now 3) pictures with Santa in the next week. The pictures are great to look back on. I plan on hanging up all of their Santa photos every year at Christmas time. You should get your sons picture taken.

I'm the freak here - my boys have NEVER had their pictures taken with the mall Santa. I just don't feel it's worth the potential risk of germs or even worse. I know of someone who was molested by a mall Santa and that has just turned me off to the whole thing. Never mind trying to occupy a child while waiting on line for ever with lots of other whiney brats - no thank you!

I had both Santa and Easter Bunny pictures done with my DD last year. At Christmas she was about 5mo old when we took the pic and at Easter she was about 9mo old.

For the Santa pics, we went in after mall hours when we could bring our dogs too. It was cool because we were first in line and able to get in and out.

With the Easter Bunny she fell asleep in the long line the first time through, then we walked around and she almost fell asleep again waiting. That was a pain in the butt!

This year I heard on the news that they are advising against going to Santa because the H1N1 can live on Santa's suit for up to 48 hours! While my DD is getting vaccinated, she won't be fully protected until the week before Christmas. Instead we are going to the Breakfast with Santa at daycare where she is exposed to most of the kids' germs anyways!

I like the pics and think they are great memories, but not worth my DD getting sick. So no mall Santa this year, but we will still have pics!
