It sounds like Restless Leg Syndrome. I would talk to your doctor.

Okay it drives me insane and scares my husband at night because my whole leg jumps really hard. could it be worse because of the pregnancy?

It definately wouldn't hurt to check with your OB at your next appointment, but I know I read somewhere (maybe in What to Expect...) that muscle cramps (charliehorses) are more common during pregnancy. I have gotten them outside of prengancy and even more often during all three of my pregnancies. This time seems to be worse and I'll get it in my feet, too. All that seems to help is slowly stretching my muscles when it happens. If they are spasming and twitching/jumping though, I'm not sure if that is the same thing.

You also might want to try and eat bananas. I had cramps real bad at night that would make me scream (and scare my husband to death). A friend recommended eating bananas and making sure I'm drinking enough water. Sometimes I'd have half a banana, other days I'd have a whole one while increasing my water intake and that seemed to work for me. A pillow between your knees is a must. When your belly gets a little bit larger you may want to invest in a body pillow or a snoogle (Babies R Us has them) to support your belly while keeping something between your knees. It really helped me sleep better at night and helps with the back aches too.

A pillow b/t my knees helped my back ache, but I had muscle spasms too. people told me to eat banas, but I hate bannas. i asked my OBGYN about is , she said I need potasium and to eat bannas, so I looked on line and found that apricots have high amounts of potasium too. so I tried that, a little better, but not good enough. So I asked the OBGYN if I could just take a potasium suppliment, she said sure. My leg cramps are gone!!! So aks you DR. first, if you still have problems.

The clumsiness is part of the pregnancy. I've had it appear with every pregnancy and disappear shortly after they were born. I figure it goes along with the brain's lack of ability to function. :)

Blame away LOL! Pregnancy does crazy things to our bodies- mood swings from the hormones, morning sickness/food adversions/food cravings, aches and pains, big bump in our bellies, clumsiness, forgetfulness, just to name a few. Until guys are in our shoes (which, although my husband loves when I'm pregnant, I'm sure he'd never want to carry a child himself!) they'll never know what our bodies go through for the nine months and beyond of being pregnant/postpartum!

Okay because i feel like i can't say anything without him saying it's because of the pregnancy right, i'm thinking no! he's starting to get annoyed because the fun part is just beginning you know where we ccan actually see and feel movements, he's feeling bad because he can never feel her moving she always stops when he puts his hand on my stomach. i said it's because she's stubborn like you!!
