I am a grandmother looking for something that I used with my own children for my new grandson. When my eldest (abmost 40-year-old) son was a baby, I found something that I think was called "sit and sip." This was a straw that had a rubber plug that fit inside a nipple with a straw attached that went to the bottom of the bottle. This enabled my son to sit and hold his own bottle without having to hold up the bottom of the bottle. I cut the straws to fit small bottles. My new grandson is trying to hold his bottle, but hasn't gotten the idea that he needs to hold the bottle up.

Does anyone know where I might purchase some of those straws? I have looked for them at Wal-Mart and Babies 'R" Us with no luck. I think that I purchased them at the drug strore when I bought them for my son. Back then, we didn't have Wal-Mart, Target, or Babies 'R' Us.

There are several companies that make cups with straws that flip up out of the lid with a valve on them so it doesn't spill if turned upside down. They work well for older babies and toddlers. Walmart, Target, and Babies R Us would have them. I can't say that I ever saw the straws though.
