Hello, My name is Nataly. I am 24 years old and pregnant for the first time. I am very excited and I would be happy with either a boy or a girl. For some reason I can only think of names I like for girls though. I am due July 11th, 2010 which would make me 25 when I deliver. Hope all goes well!

Wow it's amazing how us 3 are due on the same day. My first doctors visit is tomorrow! I'm excited...I think that makes it seem so much more real! Hope everyone has a great pregnancy. Remember we are here for each other to answer questions or just listen to ranting and raving.

Baby- Wow you are so young, but sounds like you have your head on your shoulders. I hope you are prepared to take care of two. It was hard for me at 17 with one, good luck!

Hi everyone! I'm Amber and I'm pregnant with my first baby. I am 21 years old and happily married. We are due as of right now on July 1, 2010. I'm trying to get used to the idea we are actually having a baby, and can't wait till my first OB appointment (which isn't until Dec. 14th.) I am really excited to be apart of this board!

Hello ladies! I had my first OB visit today. They didn't do much...just drew blood. Also, between the practioner and my husband they talked me into getting the H1N1 vaccine and I'm still a nervous wreck about it. I hope everything is okay with the baby...I know there isn't much testing on this yet. Hope you ladies are doing well!

Hello lovely new mommies-to-be! I'm a newly wed of 6 months and a newly expectant mommy of 7 weeks! Our due date is around July 3, 2010, which is also my husband's birthday! (What a great present that would be!)

I'm very very excited, but very nervous that everything will go well. I have my first OB visit this Monday, and I hope that will ease some anxiety. This is a wonderful time in our lives and a miracle as well! :-) Congratulations Mommies!

PS: Anyone else queasy yet? I'm incredibly nauseous right after eating anything.

ProudMaMa&Wife

Eden- Congratulations! I am also feeling queasy a lot. Sometimes its before I eat...sometimes it after! Can't wait until my first trimester is over. It relieves stress a lot and should feel better! Good luck!

Hey mommies-to-be!!!! My name is V, I'm 25 years old, and my due date is July 20, 2010 (subject to change after 1st OB visit). This would be my first baby, since I miscarried in March of 2007 and I am extremely excited. My fiancee and I have been together for going on 9 years in December! He is overly excited, I think alot more than I am. I am so happy to have found this thread and hope that we can keep in touch to share our moods, cravings, pictures, etc!! As for the sex of the baby, I wouldn't mind a girl, but I'll take whatever healthy child the Lord blessed me with :D

Hi mammas! My name is Kelly and i'm 26. my hubby and i have been married for 4 years and this will be our 1st! I'm so excited that I am actually crying right now!!! Anyone else overly emotional right now, because I obviously am! The due date calc says July 13th which would be amazing (we have no july b-days in the fam!) but haven't gone to the DR. yet. I"m supposed to go Dec 3rd, but that seems like forever! When is it normal to get in for your 1st appt? I am trying to get in sooner so we can have a big reveal at thanksgiving and feel more confident about it. I would love a boy, but i will take whatever as long as they are healty! So happy to talk to you all on here! We have only told my in laws right now and it makes me feel so much better to be able to share stories with all of you!!!

Kelly- Congratulations! Hope you can get into the doctor sooner. I know it must be annoying to have to wait that long! I was actually lucky and got in a week from when I called which was this past Thursday. I go back again on the 24th for a confirmation ultrasound. I can't wait! Good luck! Can't wait to share my stories with you!

Thanks Tiffany!! Welcome and Congrats to both Kelly and Shannon!! I wish you guys all the best and can't wait to begin sharing our stories with one another.

I am scheduled to go in for my first OB visit on Thurs. Excited!! Anyone had their first OB visit yet? If so, what should I expect on my first visit?

ProudMaMa&Wife
11-16-2009, 06:36 PM
V- I had my first visit on the 12 of this month. They didn't do much. They of course did a urine PG test. They also drew blood and convinced me to get the H1N1 vaccine. I was very scared and nervous about it, but decided for it because of the odds explained to me. So for I have been fine and believe the baby has as well! Can't wait to hear how your first visit goes! I go back on the 24th for my first US and pap.

Sorry some of my post cut off.

Welcome Shannon! I was on the TTC board with you breifly! Hope everything goes great with your pregnancy!

As for me I am still queasy lots of the times. I get that way so I think eating will make it go away, but usually just makes it worse! I did just eat chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans with no problem though. I've been craving that all day! As I was telling V I go back to the doctor on the 24th for my first US and pap...they said we should at least see a heartbeat then! I can't wait!!!

V- No, actually I'm the opposite. I rarely ever feel hungry just know I have to eat. I was the way you are with my first though...be careful...I gained lots of weight from those feelings in which I'm taking with me into this pregnancy.

Hey all Mommies-to be. My name is Kelly and I am 30 years old. I just got married on July 4th, 2009 and am now pregnant with my first child, with a due date of July 1st, 2010.. That makes me 8 weeks pregnant and I am very sick.... I have such bad morning sickness and it lasts throughout the day. I am unable to eat anything but saltines and water. Is anyone else experiencing this? Everyone I talk to say it will go away be the 12th week.

Welcome Kelly!!!

I was feeling sooo hungry last night but everything I looked at made me feel sick :( so finally I settled on some plain noodles and did ok with them so was excited to get something to eat!!

I haven't been able to eat anything yet this morning but have been sipping at some juice crossing my fingers it will help settle my stomach.

Today is DH's birthday, we celebrated early this past weekend with his family so he already got his gifts but this morning I decided to take the last test in the box just because and of course 2 dark pink lines right away so I wrapped it and put it on the bed (he works 3rd shift so sleeps while I am at work during the day) he texted me and said it was the best birthday gift ever!! :)

Hello Ladies. My name is Abby, I’m 27 and this is my second pregnancy. I am due July 24, 2010. I have a 5 year old son who is begging for a sister. He has actually told me that he wants to pick out “his baby sister” on the baby website. LOL. How do you make a 5 year old understand that you don’t get to pick your sibling? Any way my DH and I were lucky enough to conceive on our wedding night which was 10/31/09. I’m so looking forward to going through this pregnancy with my husband by my side.
I hope all you ladies have happy healthy pregnancies. Good luck everyone!!!

Hello again Ladies. The post above is me. I just realized I was using my old account. So I switched off.

Any way, I see a lot of you, my self included, are already nauseous. I’ve found that chewing gum after I eat something helps keep everything down and settles my stomach. I don’t know if this will work for any one else, but it may be worth a try.

Hi all, I'm 33 and expecting our first ~July 3rd (depending on which site I use). I have my first ultrasound this friday. Last week was awesome - I had no symptoms. This week, some morning nausea. I feel like I have to keep eating for it to go away, then the rest of the day is ok. If this is as bad as it gets, I'll be happy with that.

Welcome to all the new ladies!

Kelly- I believe you are now the farthest along. Looks like you might be delivering a baby on your one year anniversary! Don't think that I would like that just because you wouldn't be able to spend the day with DH because of it being the babies b-day. I'm feeling sick quite often, but don't believe it's as bad as yours. Hope you start feeling better!

Abby- How cute! I have a four year old and he's said some funny stuff as well. Hope they both enjoy this! My son wants a boy, as much as I love him I hope he doesn't get what he's wishing for. Haha...I really want a girl, but will obviously take what I get!

Elenash- I know you must be super excited for that ultrasound even though you won't be able to see much. My first one is this coming Tuesday, the 24th. Can't wait as well. As far as my sickness I feel sick if I eat and sick if I don't most of the time. Seems like it's better in the evenings. Hope everyones sickness gets better. I know it doesn't feel to great.

Just curious if any of you have started telling your family yet? DH and I started the day we found out after I got a confirmed positive from our local health department. We had been trying for so long that we couldn't hold it in! Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!

Hi ladies! Im 8 weeks and 4 days and technically due date is June 27th but I always seem to go over my due date so I thought I could maybe chat with both June and July chat sessions! Very nervous and excited even though this is nothing new to me as I have other kids but this is the first baby for me and my new husband! I still have nausau but if I eat several smaller meals through-out the day it seems to help! Also, we are not telling any of our family until 15 weeks as we lost a baby at 14 weeks so it will be nice to chat with you gals!

Hello my name is Sherry and I am 39 years old. This is my frist pregnancy and I am due on July 2, 2010. Afte reviewing all the post I believe I am one of the oldest in here. Have a child at such an old age really scares me. I have been lucky in not having morning sickness but unlucky around 3pm everyday due to needing a nap. My next Dr. appt is on the Nov 24, 09 and they will be doing a sonogram.

Welcome Sherry and San! Hope you both have wonderful pregnancies!

Sherry- I also go for my next appointment on the 24th and will be getting an ultrasound. As I've told all these ladies 100 times I'm sooo excited!!!

As for me, I've not been to sick today, but super tired! I came home today and tried to lay down with DS who is 4, but he wasn't having it. My husband ended up watching him and I just recently woke up. I wish this tired thing would go away!

Hi everyone! My name is Abby. I am 28 years old. I just found out that I am pregnant with my first! My husband and I were married on March 14th, 2009. I think we would both like a boy, but of course we would be happy with either. I have not been to the doctor yet, but according to many on-line due date predictors, I am due July 20th, 2009. I am already feeling sick after eating. Ug. Hope you all have a great day!

Hello Girls, my name is Jenna I am 24 and just found out I am expecting! My due date is also estimated to be July 20th. I have to say I am a little worried because I am in my 5/6 week and besides my nipples being just a tiny sore and a couple "gagging" incidents, All the books that I have read say that my boobs should be really sore and I should have horrible morning sickness. I already have a fear of miscarriage and the fact that I have no real pregnant symptoms makes me worry. Should I be worrying about this or am I just a freaked out first time mommy to be?

I have to say I'm a tad bit jealous of all you mommies-to-be that are talking about having ultrasounds already! I talked to my Dr. and found out i will only get one at about 18-22 weeks. I was really bummed that I couldn't get one before xmas. you ladies are so lucky!
PS: called my dr. yesterday to ask about the swine flu shot- they had me come in right away even tho my appt isn't til dec 3rd. (which was exciting since they needed to confirm the pregnancy before giving me the shot!) I hope you all consider getting the flu shot and swine flu vaccine. It can't hurt!

Welcome & Congratulations to all you new ladies!

JPreston- It could be a good and bad thing that you aren't showing many symptoms. I wouldn't worry to much because stress can cause miscarriage. I did read though that the more sickness you have the less chance you have of miscarriage. This is because if you are safe from miscarriage your HCG levels are high and that is what is believed to cause the sickness. I'm sick constantly with this one and I found out today I'm having a few complications. With my son I was never sick and had a perfect pregnancy and delivery so it doesn't mean anything for the most part I'm sure. Just calm down and enjoy your pregnancy unless you are givin reason to worry! :)

Kelly- Sorry you have to wait so long for an US that really sucks! I know the feeling though. I'm going to the same place to as I did with my son. When I went with him they didn't do an ultrasound until atleast 20 weeks. It was a long wait! I'm anxious because I found out today at my family doctor my blood pressure is already elevating and hearing the heartbeat will be relieving.

As for me, today I went to my family doctor because I've been having some shortness of breath. Found out that my blood pressure is high. She said that they couldn't diagnose me with preclamsia (sp?) because you have to be at least 20 weeks. She sent me for a heart ultrasound to check for something called cardio myapathy which is a weakened heart muscle during pregnancy. That came back fine. She was worried about that because it can elevate your blood pressure and cause fluid build up in the lungs which would explain the shortness of breath. They also did bloodwork to check my kidney function. I won't know those results until Monday. I just have to keep an eye on my blood pressure and hope everything turns out okay. Also, I had protein in my urine which isn't normal as well as some bacteria. So, I have an antibiotic and I'm just going to take it easy over the weekend.

Hope you ladies have a good one!

Well, I had my ultrasound yesterday. Baby bean was a little hard to find because my uterus is tilted back but we found him and he had a good heartbeat. However, I was supposed be 8 weeks and 1 day (based on 1st day of last cycle), but little bean was only measuring 6 weeks and 4 days -- 1.5 weeks behind. The doctor isn't too worried because I probably ovulated late since my cycles tend to be long (~35 days average) but she wants to recheck the ultrasound in a couple weeks to make sure he is growing ok. My due date was changed from June 27th to July 12th.

We have a little picture to bring to family for thanksgiving though. A picture of a ball of cells :)

Hi again mommies to be! San...it could also be your uterus expanding. I still feel mild cramps certain days, which are normal. Gas also makes your tummy cramp up a lot.

I'm 8 weeks now, had my first little ultrasound, heard the heartbeat! I even have a little bump in my tummy! It's so exciting! We told our families last night at Thanksgiving. What a wonderful moment.

My name is Leslie. I'm a first time mom (but stepmom to two boys 7 and 8). I am happily married. We were married on July 8, 2009. My husband and I found out we were pregnant on Thanksgiving Day. Right now my expectant due date is July 29, 2009. So I guess this puts me at week 6 of pregnancy!

I guess I haven't really had any symptoms as of yet other than being tired and I seem to be really stuffed up but it doesn't seem to be related to a cold, oh and peeing a lot. I am having some cramping/full feeling in my uterus but I guess that's just normal. And knock on wood no sickness yet!

helllo all. so i have been feeling, well let's just say awkward the past few weeks. i took a test 3 days before my period. negative.. took two tests yesterday, clear as day positive. (even used the expensive clear blue!) bad news, boyfriend leaves for training on tues. .and iraq in january. what do i do?!

has anyone experienced a very emotional roller coaster or mood swings?! because i can't snap out of it and the second there is a cure I will rush to get it!

I will be going to the dr on monday, but calculated on some website (yeah who trusts the internet) but i am due july 31st! this is scary.

ProudMaMa&Wife
11-29-2009, 03:16 PM
Army- Mood swings are very normal during pregnancy. You just have to do your best not to make everyone around you dread being around you. As far as yoru boyfriend leaving...what can you do? I know this sounds mean and blunt, but you just have to deal with this situation like every other military couple. Were you planning for this baby?

Leslie- Congratulations! I feel you on the peeing a lot. I usually fall out when I go to sleep and sleep all night unless my 4 yr old wakes up for some reason. I get up every single night to pee now! It drives me insane, but I know it will only get worse as my uterus expands. Hope you don't get any sickness. Mine has finally getting better and I hope it stays that way!

Eden- I also heard the heartbeat early this week! It's amazing isn't it!?! Glad you are doing okay. When are you do again? I'm also 8 weeks!

San- It could very well be gas or like Eden said your uterus expanding. I cramp every once in awhile as well and my OB said that is completely normal. Gas also makes me cramp so bad I want to cry sometimes!

As for me, not much new. Sickness is getting better...thank goodness! The only bad thing is that I'm only craving restaurants. I hate this because I'm dead set on eating healthy, but my cravings are taking over! I'm a very home cooked kinda gal, so this is very unusual. With my son I craved fruits like no other...wish this one was the same! Hope this changes!

Thanks gals for the input! I really hate the gas part of being pregnant!!!lol

Well Im so glad that the morning sickness is no longer part of my daily routine! Officially 10 weeks 2 days today!!

Theres been alot of talk about finding out the sex of baby and we are not going to find out as we want it to be a surprise so I guess we will be going with neutral colors for now!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I even got my husband out shopping with me!

So did anyone else make a big announcement at thanksgiving!?? We went around and had all our family say what they are thankful for. Hello everyone! My name is Leah. I'm 26 and have been married for four years. We are expecting our first baby July 31st. I'm only at 6 weeks, and don't feel much different than I did before I found out I was pregnant. I do feel full a lot quicker now when I eat. So, I eat small meals throughout the day.

I am a bit concerned about some slight cramping I've been having. Going to the Dr. tomorrow for my first visit. Hope she tells me it is normal. :(

Good luck to all you girls!

Hi, My name is Leana. I am 21 years old and a mother of a four y/o little boy and a 5 y/o little girl. I am pregnant with my third and am due July 24th. I must say, I did not have hardly any "pregnancy symptoms" with my son, had tons with my daughter, and with my current pregnancy am always nauseated, tired, and have also already gained a few pounds, which I am losing due to nausea. Hope to share lots of stories with you guys.

brazen_contempt
12-01-2009, 04:15 PM
Well it didn't take long and I'm having bouts of nausea. Yesterday was horrible..I barely ate anything and when I did it was like mouse size quantities before I was gagging. No vomit though so that's a plus! Today the nausea is hardly there and I was actually hungry. Go figure. I did run out and bought the mini candycanes to suck on yesterday and the peppermint really helped. Also I had a little bit of Lemon Sorbet and felt much better.

I'd like to say I'm cramping but I don't believe that's what I'm feeling. I'd say it's more of a "tugging" sensation going on down there in the uterus and the "tugging" seems to be switching sides (right now I feel it pulling on the left side/hip...yesterday was the right side/hip).

My first doctors appointment isn't until the 17th and that date couldn't seem farther away! I'm just not totally sure though what to expect at this first visit. I'm guessing pee/blood work and probably an exam but is there anything else I should maybe be prepared for? I'll be about 8 to 9 weeks by then.

Kelly- Thanks! I have been feeling a lot better here lately. I'm glad because it was getting to the point where it was aggrevating!

Leah- Congrats and Welcome! The cramping is completely normal. It's your uterus adjusting I'm sure. As long as you don't have spotting or bleeding you should be fine. Spotting is normal sometimes to, but should be checked out just in case if it is to happen.

Leana- Welcome & Congratulations!

Leslie- The tugging sensation is normal. Sorry you've been sick. Hope you get to feeling better...I know that part of pregnancy is the worst! I think I'm finally getting over mine as long as I eat regularly.

Not much new with me...I'm just so anxious already! I'm trying to look forward to little milestones in my pregnancy so my due date doesn't seem so far away.

Hi Im Meka!! I experienced some mild cramping as well at around 6 weeks. It is normal. If you have no bleeding it is just your little one making room!! I really hope you feel better and can get comfort soon!! Have a happy holiday!

Hi everyone! I am 23 happily married and pregnant with my 2nd child. I am so excited! I have a 4 year old little boy who is super excited! He was such an easy pregnancy so I am looking forward to see how this little one does.

kelley- Slight cramping could be implantation or your uterus stretching and growing. I have been feeling the same things and I am 6.5 weeks along. Freaked me out at first but no blood so I have calmed down a bit. :-)

~Leslie
I had my OB appointment on Monday and they did blood work, pee test, asked a ton of questions but scheduled my pelvic for the week after next. Good Luck!

Leslie, when I had my yearly appointment in April, I told them I was planning on TTC, so they did all my blood tests/urine back then. So when I went for my first appointment 2 weeks ago, all they did was give me some handouts, ask questions, and do the transvaginal ultrasound.

So you'll probably need to do bloodwork/urine unless you've already done it. And they'll do some sort of ultrasound, maybe the regular one since you'll be 8-9 weeks, although I think the transvaginal one is supposed to be more accurate earlier on (so they can measure exactly how far along you are). They'll check your blood pressure and weight as well.

I felt a lot of tugging the first week I found out I was pregnant, but I haven't experienced any more (except maybe a little when I'm gassy).

Hey all - As of right now I am about 6 wks preggo. I should be due around July 31, 2010. I have my 1st doc's appt Dec 18th. Super excited!!! I'll be 29 when the niblet arrives. We really don't have a preference of whether it's a boy or girl but twins run in my family so I'm super excited to see if we're carrying on the tradition. As of now, I haven't had too much fatigue but have started to feel a bit nauseous after eating. Looking forward for things to come!

Good Morning ladies! I'm Marlana, due July 8 with my second. I found out I was pregnant the day before my 32nd bday. My fiancee & daughter (almost 9) are beyond excited. I wasn't far enough along on the first ultrasound so they both sat in the waiting room with this pretty much black pic with a sac on it - saying "Look at my son, look at my Bubbie"... Obvious what we're hoping for now huh? We went for the first appt with Doc this past week, he remembered me thanks to all the problems I had with the 1st pregnancy & took a shine to my daughter. He did 3d ultrasound & everything for her - they have even decided that Bubbie looks & is the same size as a Gummy Bear & he said I couldn't have an ultrasound unless I brought her back to the appts with me...lol. This pregnancy is so completely opposite of the last - no morning sickness, no horrible pains - other than the nausea & frequent bathroom visits - I wouldn't know I'm pregnant. Last pregnancy pretty much made me decide she would be an only child - I had kidney stones that I luckily passed when I delivered, among other problems & I did it all on my own. This time is so much better, I have the most supportive/wonderful fiancee in the world.

Just curious - does anyone else out there have severe allergies & if so - any homepathic relief? I was border line needing shots pre-preg & now can't take anything but the Neti Pot or benadryl (which knocks me out for 15+hrs)...

Best of Luck & I look forwarding to chatting with you all over the next year!

armymommie - i am a bit late responding to your posts, but I am a USMC Wife and my husband left 2 days after we found out we were expecting. He is in Afghanistan and probably won't be here for any of the pregnancy. He will only be deployed about 7 months but I found out Dec. 7th that we are having twins!! Yeah, plus we have a 2 year old daughter that I have to take care of. He will be back before my due date, but he will be in Cali while I will be in Oklahoma until I have the babies. So I will go this whole pregnancy alone and with twins! LOL. The good thing though is that I decided to move back home (before I knew we were prego) and have my family for a support group. Also, we have each other for a support group as well. In case you haven't seen it, there is a website called MilitarySOS.com that you can go to and it's for anybody really but mainly all military affiliated people on there. Find yourself a TON of support groups and don't be scared to reach out to your "internet" friends....I have met some great friends on a site like this but for september 07 moms and I still talk to them today and have even met one of them in person!!! So don't think just because we are internet friends means we can't be there for you! I will know exactly what you are going through! Oh, I also used an online due date calculator and they gave me the exact due date as the dr. LOL.

Marlana - I would talk to your doctor to see what you can take for the allergies. I'm sure there are some medicines out there that are approved for you. I'm almost positive my dr. told me sudafed was okay, but you really need to take that up with your dr. to be sure...before you try anything new...

Well, for those of you that read the above you will have read a bit of my "about me" LOL. Here it is from the beginning.

My name is Brittni. I married my sexy best friend Harlan on June 22, 2007 and we had our first daughter (his 3rd), Avy, on Sept. 9th, 2007. My husband is a United States Marine and recently deployed to Afghanistan. We found out we were expecting #2 about a day or 2 before he left the states. I had my first dr. appointment on Dec. 7th, 2009 and found out we are expecting TWINS! on July 17th, 2010. Hopefully the hubby will be back by then to see them born.

The weirdest thing happened though. From the beginning I knew this pregnancy was "different" than my first. I had fears that it was a chemical pregnancy or that it would end in a miscarriage. I just felt there was a difference about it but didn't know what. I just assumed the worst. Well, no bleeding so that made me feel better and then all the symptoms hit me. Tons of morning (all day) sickness and cramping and all the other joys of early pregnancy. I let go of my fears and then had a dream that I was having twins. In this dream, I had delivered my 2 babies and one was a boy and the other was a girl, but my husband kept looking at the girl and saying to me "She is supposed to be a boy." and I kept saying back "Just give it up babe, she is a girl! Get used to it." But he insisted that she was supposed to be a boy. (Sign #1 its twins??)

Then, at my OB appointment, right before the ultrasound started, the dr. said "How would you feel if it was twins?" and I responded with "It would be cool I think." and then he started the ultrasound and just started laughing. I thought I saw a baby twice, but only one was on the screen at a time so I thought maybe I was just seeing the same one in a different position and then he got both of them on the screen and said "Well, it's twins." All I could do was scream "You are trying to trick me aren't you! Twins don't even run in my family!" He informed me that he wasn't tricking me and that it was in fact twins. He went on to say that it looked like they were sharing something (I didn't hear his exact word but it was either amniotic or embryonic) and that these twins would most likely be identical because of it.

So, I think that I will be having twin boys (because of the dream) because in my dream my husband kept trying to tell me that the girl was supposed to be a boy. LOL.

Anywho, sorry it's so long, but I hope to get to know some of you over the course of the next 7-ish months and that we can stay friends after that....it's so much fun!!

Oh, one other thing.....there are tons of things like these out there but thought i would show this one to you all...

http://pregnancyandbaby.sheknows.com/pregnancy/Detailed/Madame-Zaritska-predicts-your-birth-experience-736.htm

You go to that website and you can get a "psychic" reading on what your birthing experience will be like....i say "psychic" because its just a random computer generated type response based on your favorite color, the last animal you seen, etc...but it's fun!! LOL...

Here is mine::

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the morning.

After a labor lasting approximately 7 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and will be 20-1/2 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and dark hair.

First I'd like to send a thank you in regards to my question about the first dr. appointment. I'm anxious and next Thursday seems lightyears away!

7th week has been somewhat uneventful, which has been good. Today has been the worst day of the week, as far as sickness/tired/cold goes. I just can't shake any of it today!

Also, anyone else here tell their boss yet? I haven't told my boss yet, which I probably should. Other people in the building know and I suspect that she already heard but it's just coming up and telling her that seems to be hard. Maybe because I know she won't care that much that I'm pregnant.

Also I know there is a forum for this already but anyone think of names yet? My husband and I decided on names before we even got pregnant, heck we decided what they were going to be before we got married. Here are our picks:

Boy: David Johnathan Brown Jr.
Girl: Claire Olivia Brown

let me start by saying my button that makes the "ph" sound like in "sophia" doesn't work so most words that have that letter i am going to type it the wrong way like "iph" or "halph"....i know i'm spelling it wrong but that way you know what i'm saying...LOL....

brazen - i have no clue on names yet.....iph i had to pick out names now, i would be picking out 2 girl names, and 2 boy names....not phun...lol....i am going to wait to see what they are phirst. As phor telling your boss, most people wait until aphter the phirst trimester is over (or about 12 weeks) just in case the inevitable happens....you don't want to have to "untell" your boss.....you know??

i also wanted to mention....i have morning sickness like no other and i take a vitamin b6 and halph a unisom sleep pill with doxylamine as the drug, not the new ones....it works WONDERS on sickness...but sometimes it makes me sleepy so i would recommend not driving iph you are going to take it until you know how it makes you pheel.....and i would also run it by your doctor....they can prescribe it to you as a compounded drug...thats what my last dr did but this new dr i only had one appointment and i phorgot to mention the horrible morning sickness....so i am dephinitely going to bring it up at the next one iph i'm still sick....

Finally!!! I have been trying to post for days, but every time I tried to log in it would look like it was successful until I tried to post! Don't know what was going on! Glad it is working now...I was having withdrawls haha!

Welcome to all the new ladies! Glad to have you along for the wonderul journey!

Melissa- I also have a 4 year old! I can't wait to share this experience with him...So far they things he has said has been precious and hilarious! I can't wait to see him with his new brother or sister (I to hope it's a sister!)

Marlana- I would speak to your doctor. I was having a lot of trouble with allergies and I took a prednisone shot. I was very nervous about it, but after speaking with my OB doctor she informed me the benefits outweighed the risk by far. ( The risk was I could of stopped breathing...I was having a lot of difficulty doing so) Glad your family is so excited! Your daughter is the perfect age to help out with the new baby!

Brittni- Welcome and Congratulations on the twins! I'm sorry you will be going through the pregnancy alone and hope he is back in time for the delivery! I appreciate all the work he does for our country. I know it's because of men and women like him that I get to enjoy my pregnancy with my husband. My husband was in the military as well right around the time we met. He was discharged for medical reasons and was very devastated. I'm glad there are people who can carry on what he couldn't!

Brazen- Names oh names! My husband and I can't agree on anything. It was not this difficult with our son! I'm praying within the next 6 1/2 months something comes along. Maybe it will be easier when we know the sex of the baby and can focus on one gender haha! What about you?

Dia- Yay! Your first appointment. I couldn't wait for my ultrasound...I needed reassurance that everything was looking okay! Can't wait to know how everything goes!

As for me I'm coming up on my 10th week Friday! For those of you who hasn't read my story I am due on July 9th. I can't believe I'm already 10 weeks! It seems like I just found out and wasn't even 5 weeks yet. I'm glad it's moving right along. I'm very anxious for February because we should have our next ultrasound then! Not much going on with me...I'm constantly constipated because of my iron pills no matter how much water I drink with them. My prenatals make me extremely queasy if I don't eat before or right after taking them. Other than that I am doing great...finally getting some energy back and some libido. Good thing I believe my husband was starting to think I didn't need him after getting the baby we tried so hard for. Haha... Sorry so long I haven't been able to log on in days and I needed to POST! :) Hope you ladies are having a wonderful week!

tiffany - thanks for the appreciation! he loves doing his job....it will suck that he's not here for it but i have to do what i have to do...ya know? I can sit and cry about it or I can tell myself to put my big girl panties on and do my thing! LOL. *new subject* have you tried taking the slow release iron pills they have at walmart? you take one a day and it is supposed to slowly "melt" throughout the day and that way it's not so harsh on your body. You can also try taking your prenatal pills right before bedtime....it usually doesn't make you so sick then!

I hope all you other ladies check in soon!! let us know how your pregnancies are going! I'm still trying to digest the twins...LOL..

Seeing some of you around 7ish weeks already go to the doctor makes me more anxious. I don't like that I have to wait until I"m already 9 weeks to find out how things are going. Seriously this waiting thing is killing me! lol

Tiffany: if we have a boy he will be David Johnathan Brown...just like his daddy. If we have a girl (which is what we are hoping) she will be Claire Olivia Brown. My husband was pretty easy when it came to names. He pretty much let me have whatever I wanted for a girl and he wanted a Jr. since his ex wouldn't let him name the boys after himself. (he had no say in the first one and named his second one).

Anyways after being so sick yesterday I'm starving today. It's either one way or the other with me it seems...I'm either sick or starving....and it seems to jump from day to day.

Today however I couldn't wear my normal jeans. I got them buttoned and zipped but they were WAY too tight for me to walk around in all day...so I had to put on my elastic wasteband "fat" pants. I feel like there's a giant water balloon sitting in my lower abdomen! Oh not to mention the fact I need to buy a new winter coat. The one I have is WAY too tight in the lower abdomen and the zipper actually split this morning... sending me outside in -8 temps with my little green fall jacket. :(

Brittni- I haven't tried taking those. I might talk to my OB about them. I don't want to not get enough iron so I want to make sure those would give me the dosage I need. As far as taking the prenatals before bed I don't like doing that because I have no energy all day when I do. My body doesn't have what it needs I guess. I've learned as long as I eat before or right after then I'm okay with them so it's no big deal anymore. Thanks for the advice though!

Brazen- Glad you already have your names! My husband and I both decided our DS name. He wanted him named after him, but I refused to make him a jr because I don't like my husbands middle name at all. I couldn't do that to my son. So we named him Brandon Conner (Brandon is my husband) and we call him Conner. Most people don't even know his first name is actually Brandon. I know the feeling of the pants situation. I've been the same way for a few weeks now. I'm wearing my jeans still but I've been used a rubber band for the button lol. Seen the idea in a baby magazine and went with it for now. Hope you get to feeling better. I know it's not fun being sick and it's worse when you don't know how your going to feel one day to the next!

Nothing new with me. Kind of just going right a long with my pregnancy right now. One of my best friends is due tomorrow with her first baby and has been contracting for days. Still isn't dialating so it's driving us all crazy! I'm going in the delivery room with her so I've just been sitting around anxious! Hopefully it is soon!!!

First OB visit and US went fine. Baby is measuring perfect at 6 wks 5 days. Dont go back for a month. My 3 yr old really wanted to go back for the US but I didnt let her (mainly b/c it was vaginal not on the belly)and when I came out with the picture she was so excited to see the "bean". I told her that "he" is not even a bean yet- just a grain of rice!! So excited!!!
Didnt care for the OB I saw today. There are 3 in the office and I generally see the male MD and he is who did my 1st two c sections. But they like you to see everyone atleast once. I just felt like she was very pushy about some issues that we discussed. Like breastfeeding, my nausea and vomiting, the H1N1 vaccine and getting my tubes tied. But next time I will be seeing another female who I do not have a problem. She took care of me when I went into early labor w/ my 1st baby.
So, will kepp checkin up on everyone. Gotta go for now, its my bedtime.

wow....you girls aren't fitting in your pants anymore?? i guess you are a week or two ahead of me but my pants still fit....could have been because i was vomiting a LOT from like 6-8 weeks but they haven't felt tight on me at all...lol..and i have twins! i'm sure they will make me jump into some maternity clothes in a few weeks though...LOL....i'm almost positive...

tiffany - glad your prenatals aren't making you sick any more! i'm still too scared to take mine right now....i couldn't take them with my first b/c they made my morning sickness waaaaay worse and now i'm scared it will do the same....i've taken one and it was okay but it's scary..and it doesn't help that they are some huge horse pills...LOL. i feel like i'm swallowing something the size of a gummy bear...

djasinski - sorry the dr and you didn't get along very well...hopefully you won't have to deal with her anymore! it's so awesome getting those first few pictures of the lil beans huh!! with my dd she looked like a bean but with these twins, i was 8 weeks and they look like miniature babies....sort of....still kinda alien looking but you can make out tiny spots where the eyes, nose and mouth are on one of them....the other is turned sideways and we think we seen the face, but not 100%..LOL..

i still haven't got a chance to talk to my dh...he hasn't called me and i wanted to tell him about the twins on the phone to hear his voice...but i'm about to just tell him in a letter...i want him to know asap!

Brittni- Glad you are fitting into your pants...some of us just aren't as lucky I don't guess. I'm not an itty bitty girl any way. I'm not huge either though...I would be anxious for my husband to know if I were having twins to. Let us know his reaction!

DJ- I'm sorry that you didn't like your OB very well, but glad everything is looking good with the baby! Are you planning or did you get the H1N1 vaccine?

Em- Welcome! You are due close to 4th of July as well. I'm due the 9th! To be honest I don't want to have a 4th of the July baby. That's to much celebration for one day and want my childs birthday to be nothing but about them! That's supposed to be a special day...right?

I'm doing good! I'm exhausted though. I just got home from watching a good friend of mine deliver her first baby! That is the best experience in the world besides having your own children. She did very well. She had been leaking water so they finished breaking it at 9 this morning and she had the baby at 7:27 pm. Very good for her first baby and no medicine to induce! She didn't know what she was having...couldn't tell on ultrasound so it was exciting to say, "It's a girl!" I'm so anxious now...need to calm down I know haha. Hope you ladies are having a great weekend!

Just popping in to say my ultrasound yesterday went great. Baby was doing somersaults and showing off initially and then posed for a few great shots. My due date was changed again. Originally it was supposed to be June 27th based on my last cycle but the baby was measuring small at the first ultrasound so they changed it to July 12th. Baby caught up in size and is measuring to be due July 7th (which is about the date I originally thought I'd be considering my long-ish cycles).

I'm 11 weeks today so that's exciting. Minimal symptoms except some occasional mild nausea when I haven't eaten in a while. I've gotten a bit hungrier this past week. Mostly craving carbs... toast and pasta. And a glass of warm milk in the evenings. Oh yeah and naps are the best thing ever.

Proud- I did not get the H1N1 and I personally do want to get it. I am a nurse and have dealt with vaccines for a long time and I just dont think there is enough known about it. I have always got the flu shot during my pregnancies and intend to get one on my next visit. And both my girls get the flu shot every year. But none of us have/will be vaccinated with the H1N1 this year. I try to stay UTD with all vaccine info- mainly because my girls but also for my own nursing education.

went to my 1st dr. appt. on the 3rd, everything went great! still jealous that i won't get an ultrasound til feb. they really go by the calendar for due dates, so my dat, july 13th, hasn't changed. still feeling nauseous and haven't gained any weight yet, but i can feel the sides of my stomach getting more firm and i can't suck my little gut in anymore!! it'll be 10 weeks tomorrow, and i bet in a couple more weeks it'll be bring on the elastic! just bought a pair of leggings this weekend! I've read a few of you post about your prenatals- if you aren't feeling it, get some flinstones complete and take 2 of those. It's like taking tums! As much as I have been nauseous, I've always been able to take them. Also, I know someone brought up allergy meds- my dr. said zyrtec is ok in the 1st tri and Claritin is ok for 2nd and 3rd. my concern is what to do when breastfeeding, supposedly you cant take anything then and that will be when my allergies are the worst!
Oh and i am totally having backaches, Em, and I've been putting a heat pack on my back just about every night!

Well I went to my first doctor visit today. After sitting in there for 2 1/2 hours I left with 1 goodie bag and 1 angry hand.

All the doctor did was give me my EDD which is July 28 and did a pap and sent me to the lab for bloodwork and pee. He said while doing the pap that I had an enlarged uterus so I was pregnant...or I have a really large tumor in there. He joked the whole time he was in there which kinda eased the process some.

I had no idea what my weight was...I closed my eyes...I don't want to know... I mean I already know it's bad but still. Oh and my blood pressure was awesome (for me anyways). Bloodwork was interesting. Of course they can't find veins to get blood out of from me so she had to take it from a little one in my left hand.

But other than that nothing else. No pictures or heartbeats just yet. He said when I go back on January 19th that we'll listen to the heart then.

Also a little confused...he said I was 8 weeks and babytalk says I'm 9. I know it's not a huge difference and my husband says not to let it get to me but still...I'm one of those anal ones that likes to know what is going on all the time!

Hello ladies! I've been super busy and it doesn't look like many others has posted either!

Brazen- Just wanted to tell you real quick that this website and a few others I'm on is a week ahead. I won't be 12 weeks until Friday, but this site says I've been 12 weeks since the day I turned 11 weeks. So, go by your due date and what you know...hope this helps.

Sorry don't have time to say much. I have my 3rd doctors appointment today...have to have a pap and I'm thinking they will be able to hear the baby's heartbeat with the doppler now. I heard it with my ultrasound, but I'm still excited!

Let's try this again!!

Hello! My name is Jenn. I'm expecting baby # 2 on July 3, 2010. I have a 3 year old son, and a 1 year old "step" son **their father and I aren't married, but have been together for 4 years...with a 7 month split when our son was about 6 months old** My son is pretty excited to be a big brother again. He says he wants a sister this time ;o) I'm hoping for a girl, but will be happy with either! I'm feeling a little out numbered!! It's just me and the cat, and I'm allergic to her! The little one isn't quite old enough to understand, but we still tell him he'll be a big brother too! We are hoping that I don't have the baby early! We have too many June birthdays! **Boyfriend, his sister, his grandmother, and BOTH boys are in June** So EVERYONE keep your fingers crossed that I can hold out until July!

I've had the worst "morning" sickness EVER! I thought it was bad with my son! Psshh! That was a piece of cake compared to this one! I'm currently on Zofran for my nausea. I will throw up non-stop without it. I've already been in the ER twice from dehydration because of it. I wish I didn't have to take it, but, I'd rather have that then dehydration and trips to the ER!

I had my first OB appt on Dec 9. Did the basics...bloodwork, urine, pap. Had my first US on Dec 11. Thought the baby might have Gastroschisis. So I had another on Dec 16. OB said that it looked like the intestines were going back into the umbilical cord and that they would check again at my 18-20 week US.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and sharing our stories and pregnancy journies!

Hello Everyone My name is Stephanie I am 22 and this will be my 2nd baby I am due july 9th. I would really like a girl my first baby was a boy he was born premature at 24 weeks and died shortly after he was born... I've had a pretty rough pregnancy so far I've been pretty sick and I've been in a lot of pain.. I recently had a cerclage done on the 30th of december to prevent me from having another baby before its due I'm still recovering from my surgery but really looking forward to the rest of this pregnancy I'm sure it will be exciting...

Hello, my name is Latasha and i will be 25 years old in three weeks. My due date is July 24th. This is my first preganancy and i'm so excited.But for some odd reason i start to bleed for 10 minute on any day in the beginning of the month and the doctors can't seem to figure out the problem. The baby is fine and growing well so there is no harm being done to him/her. Any advice on what the cause could be or is anyone going through this as well?

Hello ladies!
I had a house full of family over the holidays so I haven't posted in a while. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and new year.

Went to OB today. I am 10w 5d along and all is well. Dr gave me Fiorecet for my intense headaches so hopefully it will help. I gained 3 pounds which I blame my hubby for!! Before he went back to work he bought my 3- yes three- favorite kinds of ice cream and left me here to eat them!!
Having an US in 2 weeks to look for signs of down syndrome then see OB again in 5 weeks.
Is anyone showing yet? Some days I have no belly and other days I do.
Hope all is well!

Welcome to the new ladies! I haven't posted in awhile as well...I thougth this board was going under so just stopped checking for awhile and then was busy for the holidays.

DJ- I am the exact same way! Some days certain pants will fit fine and sometimes they won't. The doctor said enjoy that because when the uterus is completly up you will just wake up one day and not be able to wear any of your pants lol.

As for me I am 13 weeks and 5 days. I am due July 9th for those of you who don't remember or just missed that post. I go back to the doctor on January 19th and they are doing the blood test to test for a few things. Just precautionary stuff no reasoning. They also have to test my thyroid levels then...found out at the beginning of my pregnancy they were low and I was put on meds. I will find out sometime toward the end of February what we are having hopefully! I can't wait!!! I want a girl so bad I can't stand it, but will be happy with a healthy baby. Hope everyone is well and had happy holidays!

Had a dr appointment today. Nothing big. Listened to the heartbeat. H1N1 vaccine. I have my US to find out the sex on Feb 17th!!!! SO SO SO SO SO excited! Tiffany, I TOTALLY feel you on the wanting a girl so bad! I'm outnumbered here!!!

PROUD- Yeah, thats me.Some days I can wear ny everyday jeans and other days I am more cmfortable in maternity pants. I have already taken down all of my normal clothes and replaced them with maternity clothes. I did leave my normal sweaters just because it is so cold. Most days I can wear my sz 7 jeans but I bought this great pair of maternity pants that just have like a 2 inch elastic band on each side that are adjustable! They do not look like maternity pants. I can make them as small as possible and they fit fine. They are a medium which is like8/10 I think. I love these maternity pants though b/c they dont have all that extra stretchy fabric over the belly or anything- they look like everyday pants. I got them at Bealls! They have some great stuff. Well gotta go for now, the girls need me.

Hello again ladies I posted about a week ago my name again is stephanie I will be 14 weeks tomorrow and my due date is july 9th on my last post I had recently gotten out of the hospital after having surgery for them to place the cerclage on my cervix after posting that I was readmitted to the hospital because I was having excessive pain and bleeding. They found out I had a bad infection and if it was not caught sooner it would go to my uterus and would cause me to miscarry. So I've been in the hospital for 5 days I get to go home tomorrow after they are done pumping me full of antibiotics.. My worst fear is to lose this baby I already had a son that I lost at 23 weeks for the same issue. The doctor recently told me that if I got another infection I would have to again have surgery to remove my cerclage and then they would induce my labor causing me to lose yet another baby.. So you all can probably see why I'm terrified.. If anyone has any words of support I really need it right now please all of you wish me and my baby the best..

ProudMaMa&Wife
01-07-2010, 02:56 PM
Stephanie- I definitley wish you and your baby the best of luck. I pray everything goes well for you...I couldn't imagine losing one baby much less 2 in a row. Keep us updated and be sure to take it very easy when you do get out of the hospital. Best of wishes to you.

Dj- I plan on going shopping for maternity clothing in the next few weeks. I am trying to prolong it as long as possible that way I don't buy clothes that aren't even going to fit in a month. I just finished Cosmetology school so I will need clothes to work in as I will be starting work in the next month hopefully.

Ls- Glad your doctor appointment went well. I cna't wait for your US...praying for your girl as well. I'm also outnumber especially at this point. I have DS and DH plus my little brother who is 17 has been with us for 2 weeks! I need someone on my side!!!

Not much going on with me...sitting at home snowed in at this point...I'm not a cold person at all...I know horrible...My son is playing in the snow with his grandparents. I love the joys, but there are a few they can take over a times haha.

Well hello, Mommies to be!

It's been a while since I last posted and it was nice catching up on everyone's progress!

I too am around 13 weeks and 5 days, and it was practically overnight that my tummy decided to make an appearance, along with a ravenous appetite for all things bread and cheese. ;-) Grilled cheese, rolls with melted Swiss, you name it. Mmmmm....

I'm just getting uncomfortable in my old pants (was a size 4-6...now I can't breathe with them on). I'm going out with my mother tomorrow to find some roomy, stretchy, pants. Luckily I"m in healthcare and can wear nice stretchy scrub pants for a long while. It's hard adjusting to the new shape, but I love it.

No problems really. I get lightheaded a lot and haven't been sleeping well.

Does anyone else have insomnia problems, or lightheadedness? How should we handle it?

Hugs to you all!

ProudMaMa&Wife
01-09-2010, 02:19 PM
Eden- I understand the belly thing! I wasn't as small as you were pre-pregnancy, but my belly did the same thing! Are you not sleeping because your uncomfortable or you just can't sleep? As far as the lightheadedness goes make sure your iron isn't to low and you are eating plenty of small meals during the day. I haven't had this happen, but a friend of mine who just delivered in December had this happen in the beginning of her pregnancy. Her doctor kept a good eye on her iron levels and told her to make sure she hate plenty throughout the day. I would try this if you already aren't...if you are doing this already and it doesn't help you should talk to your OB. Good luck!

Proud...yes, I go back this Wednesday for my next OB appt, so hopefully they'll let me know if my levels are low. Mostly I just wake up with my mind racing in different directions, and I just have to try and calm it down to fall back to sleep. It comes an goes. :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My next post: In-law pressure.
My MIL has 8 children, all vaginal delivery, ALL without pain relief. I'm now being pressured by her and all my sister-in-laws (all younger, none married, no children), to not have any pain relief at all during my delivery, and to avoid a C-Section at all costs because it's not the way God intended us to deliver babies. We were meant to have pain and offer it up to God as a sacrifice for our children, and that if I have any relief at all I'm going against God's plan and not giving anything up for my child.
I am a Christian, strong in my faith, and I believe in the sanctity of human life and want to bring as many children into the world as God is willing to give us. HOWEVER: I also feel that God has given our doctors many means of advancing the field of medicine, in as far as human suffering goes. I'm willing to try giving birth to my child naturally; however, if the pain becomes so great that I can't focus on the matter at hand, I would be willing to have pain mgt, via epidural. I want to be able to focus on the birth, on my child, on my husband. I don't want to get so stressed over the birth that I can't function! I dont' appreciate their constant judgement over my birthing decisions. My MIL is into the extreme form of holistic medicine, and doesn't really believe in Ph Doctors anymore. My husband is with me 100%, which helps. How can I let them know that I appreciate their concern, but to politely mind their own business?
Sorry, I know this is a deep one, but it's been going on for a long time and it's starting to bother me a lot. I feel like they look on me as less of a Christian and a mother because I don't share their opinion. It hurts a lot.
ProudMaMa&Wife
01-11-2010, 12:28 PM
Eden- First and foremost I hope you get everything taken care of at the doctor and you feel better. Second, I would just tell your in-laws how it is. I would try to do it in the nicest way possible, but remember this is your baby, your body, and your birthing experience. When I had my son I was so concerned about what everyone else thought. I was very young and thought everyone else knew what they were talking about. This time I realize this is all about what is best for myself, my child, and my husband. I would sit them down nicely and tell them that while you appreciate their concern and understand their reasonings you have different ones. Tell them it doesn't make you any less of a Christian or mother if you are to recieve pain medication during delivery. Also, let them know you plan to try and go through it without pain medication, but if you feel it is necessary that will be the route you take. Another option is to just tell them you plan on going through delivery without medication. When the time comes if you get it they will be upset for a bit, but they will probably forget all about it when the baby comes. Like I said earlier...remember it's your baby, your body, and your birthing experience...if they don't like it the hospital staff will be sure they don't show it at that time because they don't want you or the baby unders stress. It will all work out...and trust me...this won't be the last time your MIL butts in about decisions to do with YOUR child! I love my MIL, but sometimes she thinks she is my sons mother...and that's when I have to show different...as nicely as possible...lol
I will be 4 months next Friday and I can't believe it's already that far along! I've been feeling pretty good!!! I have an appointment on Tuesday and the husband and I are taking our son with us to hear the heartbeat. I've heard it but neither of them has and I'm anxious to see our son's reaction! I thought I was showing a few weeks ago, but it's like yesterday I just popped out there. Now I really feel preggo! I plan on going shopping here in the next few weeks for maternity clothes! Hiya all, I'm just checking in. I'm 15 weeks now and had an appointment today with the doc. She did a pap smear and we heard the heart beat on the ultrasound which was awesome. I wish I could've seen another picture of the baby since I haven't seen it since 10 weeks but I guess I'll have to wait 5 more weeks until the big 20week ultrasound appointment.
Nothing much has changed otherwise. It's been a really easy first pregnancy so far (*knock on wood) -- minimal mild nausea the first few weeks but no morning sickness. It's weird I haven't had any really cravings or aversions. No heightened sense of smell and I'm not extra emotional or anything like that. If anything, I'm extra giggly. Here's hoping that the delivery and baby will be as easy going as the pregnancy so far.
I've gained 4-5 pounds but not really showing much. Hubby thinks I'm starting to show but it mostly just feels like I'm bloated still. I'm still fitting into my pants (they're getting a bit tight though) and haven't had to use the belly band yet. Well I'm going to go out for a walk since it's a nice 50 degrees today! Have a great weekend!
PROUD- GLad to hear all is well. I cleared jinsked (sp?) myself when I posted I was sleeping well. Since that post I CAN NOT SLEEP!! Not getting to sleep til about 2 am and my youngest gets up at 8am.
MILLER- I have had migraines since I was 16 but they are few and far between these days- except while pregnant. With my 2nd daughter I was on Darvocet almost daily but I told the Dr I wanted to try Fiorcet first. I have to take 2 and I do get mildly dizzy but it is better than a migraine!
Dj- That totally sucks! I know the feeling as well...I'm tired all day and then night time comes and my mind is in total "I'm ready to go" mode! I'm glad that my son sleeps in a little most of the time!
Ele- Glad to hear everything went okay at the doctor. Also, glad to hear that your pregnancy is going by easy. Mine is definitly easier now than it was in the beginning. My first pregnancy was nothing like this one.
I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm super excited! I'm also excited for doctors appointments doesn't matter what they are doing. DS and DH are going with me to hear the heartbeat neither of them has had the chance to do so yet. My son is always talking about hearts and parts of the body so to know he's listening to the baby's heart will super excite him. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Recently someone posted that they have been having dizziness. I too have this issue my doctors tell me that its jut that my blood sugar is a bit off and to eat a high protein snack. I have solved my problem my starting my day with a protein shake (GNC has one with 60 g of protein) every morning now I feel great!
I have been showing for a while and packed up my "regular clothes" about 6 weeks ago. I just hope I get to see my size 4's again! On the up side I was in line for the ladies room and everybody let me go in front of them lol!
I had my first US at 12 weeks and my baby was kicking, waving and even had the hiccups- my husband was almost in tears (its his first baby).
I have just started to feel the baby move a little and smile every time! Is anybody else feeling the flutters?
Stay well everyone!
Dj- So sorrry to hear about the headache. I get migraines as well and I know the feeling. Since I've been pregnant I just fight through them naturally as hard as that is and as much time as it takes out of my life! I'm glad it is finally gone and hope you don't get another one!
Welcome Sabrina! I am also due on July 9th! I guess we will see who gets the closest. I am also showing a little but I went to the doctor again and I haven't gained any weight in about 2 months or so. They said it was no big deal at this point since I am measuring almost correctly and I eat right.
Welcome Felicia- I am also completing my family. I am pretty sure that #2 is goign to be enough for hubby and I. Congratulations and good luck!
I went to the doctor today. My son heard the heartbeat and was just sitting there like wow. I haven't gained any weight in about 2 monts although looking at my belly you would think I've gained at least 10 in just a few weeks! Doctor said no big deal at this point since I'm meansuring good and I eat like I should. Hope everyone had a great Tuesday! Does anyone know when their US to find out sex is yet?
We had a fun little 16 week ultrasound last week, and my husband finally got to see his first child, and he had tears running down his face. That was one of the most precious moments I've been a part of so far! Everything going well.
I am actually scheduled on March 10th to find out the sex. ITS SEEMS SO LONG AWAY. If I could just get to that point I will be happy. I love the preparation and being prepared! With our girls we bought daipers size NB-5 before they were even born. We NEVER had to buy diapers for either of them- EVER!! Well my husband and I went to the doctor on the 19th to hear our little baby heartbeat. For me it ended up being more stressful than joyful and I'm kind of bitter for that I suppose. The two "nurses" that came in with the doppler were pissed because I didn't pull my stuff down far enough... (this is my first time sheesh!) and then the only heartbeat they were finding was my own. Now I'm not an expert but I do know that my baby is NOT on my hips on either side...which is how far they kept going before coming back in front.
So then they started telling me that they can't find a heartbeat and that I'll probably have to get a US to determine ACTUAL age of the baby. Basically blaming me for not finding a heartbeat and then telling me I'm a liar that I wasn't 12 weeks and 6 days along but less than that.. Thankfully they left and I was able to hold my tongue...but barely.
The doctor came in and they didn't even bother leaving him the doppler...so he had to go back out and get it. He found the heartbeat for just a second and then lost it. He decided he needed a different doppler since the one he had (the one those to b*tches were using) had way too much background noise on it.
He runs out and grabs a newer one and....what do you know! He finds it right away...and boy was it a whisper quiet one but there it was.
My husband started tearing up a bit...but the only emotion I ended up feeling was relief thanks to those dingdong nurses getting me all stressed out in the beginning.
Dj- How adorable is that! And yes, I agree with Ria...what a boy he is! I'm glad you got exactly what you wanted...wish me the same except I want a girl lol.
Srk- I'm sorry to hear your on bed rest for the rest of your pregnancy, but I'm glad to hear everything is going well. I wish I could be on bed rest without complications that is haha. I'm so tired constantly...I'm sure it will get old fast just sitting around. Hopefully the next 5 or 6 months fly by for you and you have a healthy baby to make you forget about it.
Brazen- I would of been very upset about that myself! I've never had a nurse check for the babys heartbeat. The doctor has always done that both times so far with this pregnancy and every time that I can remember in the last. I love to hear the heartbeat because at this point I've only felt movement a time or two so that's what assures me each month that everything is okay! I'm glad it turned out fine and hope you don't have that experience again...I love going to the doctor it makes me feel better about everything so I hope from now on you have a positive experience.
As for me everything is going pretty good. I don't have much of an appetite very often. I eat and believe I eat enough to keep the baby and I healthy...but I don't eat as much as someone would expect me to being pregnant. Today was not a good day for me at all! My son had an appointment today for a well child check-up...He hadn't been since he was like 2 or something so I thought I should take him just because he is a picky eater and such and I wanted to be sure his weight and everything was okay at this point. So, I made it for 9 this morning...I graduated Cometology school about 3 weeks ago so we have been sleeping in ( I can't start work until I take my state test in Feb.) That was the first mistake because neither of us wanted to get up...we get there and their computers are down (we are at our local health department...should of just went to his family doctor!) then we get back there and they have to do his weight and all and he is not happy (he's 4 but yes he is very spoiled and was tired so thought crying would get him out of this with me) then the nurse says she has to do his booster shots today...says she can't make me but she isn't supposed to let me leave without doing so....ok what is that...makes no sense really...right? He has to have them before starting school in August so I'm like whatever lets just get it over with. Well, lets just say that I thought it was bad when he was a baby....it had nothing on today! I felt like the worst mother ever holding him down to let someone hurt him...I had tears pouring out by the time we were done...and it's just been one thing after another since that mess....praying tomorrow is better...oh yeah I had a migraine for 2 days and finally slept it off earlier but now thanks to the nap I can't go to sleep and it's going on midnight...so hope the weekend gets better!
hello again everyone how everyone is doing good.. I've been messing around online since I have lots of spare time now and I've found some kinda interesting old wives tales on how to tell the sex of your baby.. Have any of you heard of them or tried them to see if they come out right? I'm a little nervous about my ulrasoundon tuesday because all my family really wants me to have a girl so they are putting alot of pressure on me. I wish there was some way i could tell what its gonna be before the big ultrasound that would take alot of stress off of me..but i guess if you could find out ahead of time there would be no point in having the ultrasound lol.. Well ladies let me know what you think!
Srk- There is a newer thing called Intelligender. It's like $30 and you can buy it at Walgreens, CVS, and those sorts of stores. They have a website that tells you all the stores that sell it. It's supposed to be 75 or 80% accurate I believe. I thought about doing it, but if it said I was having a girl I would have my hopes up just to have them shot down if the US showed differently. Not that I absolutely don't want a boy I will take and love whatever I get the same...I just want a girl badly and to think I was having one and then that be changed would anger me lol. Figure I will just be patient and wait for the US and take whatever I get and just hope it's a healthy baby!
Just checkin in!
SRK- I read alot about the Intelligender the week before I had my US. It changes the color of your urine in a cup, based on the hormones it detects. I have heard and read it is fun to do but no always accurate. I was going to do it but couldnt find it locally. Sorry, about the bed rest. But just think- it might be the last good rest you get! Good Luck!
As for me, I am doing okay. Headaches are still daily but the Fiocet is working well, just have to take it everyday. Looking at baby boy stuff like ALL THE TIME. Since I have 2 girls we have to re buy EVERYTHING! But it is fun looking at boy stuff and not all girl stuff. Not showing yet, everyone says they can't believe I am pregnant. I am only 13 weeks 3 days. Go to the Dr again Feb 10th. Well, girls gotta get in the tub.
Well, I just realized that I've only posted like 5 times on this board back in december and then forgot about it. Sorry ladies! I don't know why I forgot. I hope to stay on more often!
Not sure if I ever updated or not, but I talked to DH about the twins (if you don't remember, he is deployed for the whole pregnancy and didn't know we were having twins.) I think he was pretty much in shock. All he could really say was "cool, i'm so happy" LOL. Now we are just really hoping they are boys! LOL.
srk71010 - i'm so sorry about all the bad news you've been getting. I'm referring to your Jan. 7th post about being in the hossy and if another infection happens they will induce you. That is so sad. I am keeping you in my thoughts. Wow, I just read your post about bed rest. So sorry that you will do that, but it's always good that your baby is doing well! *new subject* the point of the ultrasound is to check on the baby and make sure it is growing at the correct rate, the sex of the baby is just a bonus. LOL. But anywho, it's not on you to "make" the sex of the baby a boy or a girl. It depends on the hubbies sperm. HE determines sex of a baby. Well, not necessarily, but thats where the boy or girl gene comes from. It just depends on if a male or female sperm gets to the egg....So don't stress too much about it!! Relax, the last thing you need is stress over what your family wants you to have. Tell them it will just be best for the baby if they would calm down and stop putting stress on you!
Edenberry - Glad your MIL could handle all the pain and such but if you want pain relief, by golly, get you some pain relief!! It's horrible (at least to me) and as for not getting a c-section...sometimes that is the ONLY way for the baby to get out..what do they want you to do if its a c-section or the babies life?? Also, the whole "God intended us to deliver this way" etc.. what are their views on surgeries? Like if they needed heart surgery or something? Would they say to the dr. "do this without any pain relief b/c God intended it that way"..I highly doubt they would...anywho, do it the way you want to...don't go natural because they told you to, do it becuase you want to...
djasinski - congrats on the boy, but just be prepared that it could still possibly be a girl. I just know that on another board i'm on some people were told boys/girls and then the dr. changed his mind and now they are having the other...Also, it happened to my SIL. She was told that she was having a boy (at 3 different u/s throughout pregnancy) and gave birth to a girl...
brazen - i would hate to have nurses like that...GRR!! stupid girls! but so glad you found a heartbeat....
Intelligender - I really wouldn't waste your money on that unless you just want too. The results aren't very accurate. And besides, I could guess "boy" or "girl" and be 50% correct. LOL. It might be fun to use, but if it's just going to make you sad when it says "girl" and you get a boy...then I would suggest not getting it. I *almost* gave in with a moment of weakness, but I decided me $35 + tax was not worth it. LOL.
Okay, gonna go for now, but I'll be sure to check in more often...Oh, I also wanted to say, I went through here and read everything to catch up and decided to write down everyone's due dates. I'll add them right here to this post...Then you can let me know if it is still correct or if you want me to take you off or any of that...Later I will put them in Order from July 1st to July 31st (and I will add Junes and August's if they come up!)
Hi everyone! I am 16 years old and 14 weeks pregnant. I've had two ultrasounds and everything is going really well. I was really nervous at first, but I'm starting to feel more comfortable with the whole fact that I'm having a baby. I'm still with the baby's father, and we plan on staying together. My due date is July 30th, but I might have to have a planned c-section because I have only one kidney. My due date is two days after my boyfriends birthday and two days before mine, so I'm really hoping that I have the baby on my due date! It would be so perfect!
Welcome to all you new ladies...looking forward to sharing the rest of my pregnancy with you.
Dj- I've felt a few movements in the last few weeks. I believe I felt the first flutters in like my 12th week. I thought I was crazy at first but after talking to my doctor he said most don't feel it that early but it is possible! Felt lots of what I believe to be movement last night...not my first child but every thing is different with this one so I'm not 100% sure that's what it was. How about you?
As for me, I'm doing pretty good. I am finally a licensed Cosmetologist. I believe I mentioned on here about a month ago that I graduated from Cosmetology school. It's required you take a test with whichever state you plan to work in...I took mine yesterday and it was very nerve racking! It was worth it in the end though because I passed and I'm now a Cosmetologist! I'm getting ready to go find a job and start my career. My husband makes good money, but it never hurts to have more coming in. I'm not sure what I will do or how long I will take off when the baby comes. I'm almost positive I will want more than 6 weeks...more like 5 years until it starts school lol. We will see though...
Hope you ladies have a great day!
PROUD- Congrats on school!!! I still have not felt baby move. I am 14w5d today so I am hoping I will soon. I got to the dr in 1 week for a check up and in 5 weeks I have another US. When will you find out the sex? I have been looking and I have a registery but wont buy anything til we get income taxes back.
I'm doin okay. Starting to feel better w/ the nausea but still have the headaches- I guess I use to them now.
PROUD- Congrats on finishing school and passing your test!
I will be 18 weeks tomorrow and I have been feeling lots of movement lately. My husband was able to feel the baby kick for the first time last night! I just got the order for my US and plan on having it in about 2 weeks, I can hardly wait to find out if its a boy or girl. My midwife is guessing girl based on how easy it was to find the heartbeat and I agree since the heartbeat has been high the entire pregnancy.
I have been having a lot of trouble with my hips and round ligament pain. I just started wearing a belly band so hopefully that helps. Anybody else having these issues and found something that helps?
Is anyone planning on having a VBAC? I was just wondering if anybody has found any good info online about it.
Glad to hear everybody is hanging in there and doing well!
Hello Ladies!
I entered my 15 weeks on 2/3/10. I'm so excited it's crazy. I noticed today that I have a lovely piece of hanging down skin (not much it's just all wrinkly and loose) down by my hairline (TMI!). My hubby says it must be getting ready to expand (this is his 3rd child). I just think it looks odd! I also noticed today that my waist seems to finally be vanishing and I'm definately starting to feel pregnant.
As far as movements I feel some things but aren't really sure what I'm feeling. Most of them are while I'm sitting or laying down and it's really quiet and I'm relaxed.
Sickness seems to be doing fine. I was violently ill yesterday morning before work (I swear it was the worst yet). So I'm hoping with how bad it was that might have been the end of it lol. A girl can hope can't she?
Also I now have a LOVELY head cold/chest cold thing going on. I'm totally miserable with both.
I've been trying to pick out a name but we're about 95% sure we are gonna name him Landen Paul.. We got a video of the US it's so amazing to see the baby moving around he was suckin on his toes and swallowin the amniotic fluid big drinks :) Baby is kicking ALOT he moves and streches and punches all the time all hours of the day I'm still on bed rest so I notice it alot. I've also been going in for weekly shots of Delalutin to make sure I dont go into labor which is fun getting picked by a needle every week.. I've still been having morning sickness or I should say whole day sickness it seems like Im either sick and throwing up or having a bad headache.. I'm ready to have this baby! Dont know how- I sure thought I gained at least 5. But.. I go back March 10th for my 20 week US and to see OB. Just hoping his boy parts havent turned into girl parts.... Elenash- Can't wait to find out what you are having! Sorry if you've told before it's hard to keep up with everyone...what were you wanting...or did it matter?
Srk- Yay!!! Glad you don't mind the boy since you were wanting a girl...I know how it is though..I love my son and wouldn't mind having another one although I want a girl so badly. The pics were adorable!!! Hope you start feeling better and as bad as you hate being sick lets all hope you make it pretty far along in the pregnancy!
Dj- Glad everything went okay at the doctor! I hope his boy parts didn't change to girl parts as well...especially if you've been shopping lol! I've felt more movement in the past week as well...felt the biggest one so far today while at work...I couldn't believe it was as high up as it was, but I know that was definitely baby!
I have an appointment next Tuesday! I am hoping they schedule my US very soon after that...I'm constantly looking at baby items in stores and online...I want to start buying stuff!!! I can't believe I'm almost 5 months...will be on the 19th which is next Friday. That means 20 weeks and half way there! July needs to hurry up...for a few reasons. I'm ready for my new addition and I'm sooo tired of this snow...so Spring will work as well for now haha. Hope everyone is doing okay! Sorry I haven't been on much...I started my job Friday and I'm busy at home when I'm not there. I will let you ladies know when my US is as soon as I know!
It's our first so we don't have too much preference on the sex. I think I've been feeling flutters this past week. They're really low... like near my pubic bone. I expected it to be much higher. At first I thought it was gas or something but I think it's flutters. Although I have been kind of gassy and more constipated than in the first trimester.
We're going to be moving in about a month so I haven't bought any stuff yet :( I've started to show more in the last few weeks. Had to break out the belly band. I've gained 11 pounds so far total. I haven't been walking as much due to the weather and working more :/
Well today I found out that I am officially having another boy. My first son is seven years old now. I think I already knew it would be a boy but with so much talk from my friends and family about how good it would be if it was a girl, I kind of started liking the idea of it. Well I will enjoy this baby no matter what.
Can you believe that my family is already planning the third baby in hope of me having the girl. The US was so obivious it was crazy. ( Very big boy parts...lol)
My son is very happy. I'm actually glad that I won't have to force him to share his room with little girl.
We went to the doctor for my 16 week checkup. I guess everything was fine since we sat there waiting for an hour and saw him for a whole 5 minutues! The nurse was able to find the heartbeat fairly quickly (not the same dingdongs as last time thank goodness!). She said the heart rate was 151 which I guess is okay...she didn't seem concerned and neither did he. (Side note here about her doing the doppler...she pushed that sucker down about 2 inches into my abdomen. I couldn't help but not cry a little bit from that hurting so much. My husband said he had to bite his tongue so that he wouldn't make the comment about her trying to go clear to my spine to get to the heartbeat. He said it looked like she was ready to put more pressure on it when she found it).
I had to go get blood done for the quad screen or whatever it is this time. I'm pretty bruised from this one and I think it had a lot to do with the fact that she moved the needle while taking the blood...it was all I could do to just sit there and not scream. My poor hand has been incredibly tender all day :(
We get our US on the 18th of March. Pretty excited about finding out what we are having let alone FINALLY getting to see that little thing. I just know the next month will feel like it's dragging on forever.
Hello Ladies!
Dj- It seems as if we decide to post at the same time almost always! Glad your headaches and nausea is getting better. Hope everything is going great your way!
Brazen- I'm sorry you are having such horrible experiences in every thing medical you have done! I'm usually pretty lucky, but I did have to sit forever yesterday at my appointment! Hopefully the next month flies by for you...I have two weeks to wait for my US and I'm soo anxious!
Ria- Congratulations on the boy! So, what is your opinion on having a third baby for a girl? I thought about it if this one isnt' a girl, but I've decided two is enough for me and I will take what I get and enjoy it just as much!
Ele- Yes, the first weeks of movement will be very low. I was quite in shock to find it that low with my first pregnancy. It will start to move up as the weeks go on.
I had a checkup appointment yesterday. Heartbeat was in the range of 155 to 160 in which she said was completely normal. My US is scheduled for March 1st and I'm super excited. I would be so bummed if they couldn't tell what it is! That happened with my son and the only reason I got another one without paying out of pocket is because they couldn't see all 4 chambers of his heart and had to before he was born.
Hope everyone is having a great week. I've been stuck in the house burried under lots and lots of snow!
Holy pancakes! I've missed a lot! My computer had a virus and we just got it up and running this weekend! Gald to be back on the internet!
Had my 20 week US today...and...I GOT MY GIRL!!!! I have been going crazy the past couple days...I kept thinking "I want a girl SOO bad, that its probably going to be a boy." I would have been happy with either...but it is nice to get what you were hoping for. So Proud....I'm sending you my girl vibes!!!! Haven't decided on names yet...but my boyfriend is like DEAD SET on Lexis :o) So, we'll see!
As far as movement, she's kicking and moving and punching away in there! **Except for the US today...of course, she wouldn't move, they couldn't get a good picture of the umbilical cord because her legs were curled up and she REFUSED to move** The movement is strong enough now that my boyfriend can feel it when he puts his hand over my belly :o) I wish I could get my son to sit still long enough to feel it...but...he doesn't even sit still to eat...so!
Just wanted to check in! Can't believe we're all getting to the halfway point!!
I had my ultrasound this morning. Baby was jumping around but all the measurements looked great. Actually baby is measuring in the 90% percentile but that's somehow still considered normal. The tech noted a minor amount of fluid in a kidney but she said that it's not unusual and usually will clear up over time.
Baby was being modest for us -- had the cord between the legs and then had the hands over the private parts, but eventually we got a pretty good look and it looks like a girl :) The tech was really nice and seemed really knowledgeable and she said she definitely didn't see any boy parts. Woot team pink!
Im a little over 17 weeks and I've been feeling the baby move quite a bit, but never when my fiance is around=S At my last appointment the UST said that it looks like a girl so I got really excited. My next appointment is this Tuesday so I'm really wanting them to check again so I can go shopping! My family is starting to get super excited for this baby and I'm thinking about telling my 6 and 2 year old sisters soon. If anyone has any good ideas on how to tell them I'm up for the advice! My fiance and I have been getting along a lot better lately, things just get stressful and I'm crazy hormonal! But this is only our first so I'm thinking things will be better the next time around=]
Short version;
I'm 27 yrs old and expecting my second on July 20th. Date is pretty certain as I'll be having a c-section. I was in labour 18 hrs with my (now 4 year old) son, had epidural and all the rest of it and I refused to dilate so....
My 7 yr old daughter is just so happy but my 5 yr old son was bummed for a day or so but is now excited to finally be a big brother and is back to telling the baby he loves her and kissing my belly. They both have been able to feel the baby kick and now are always asking if its time to feel it.
I also received good news that my husband is not a carrier of Cystic Fibrosis which means that the baby can't have it and only has a 25% chance of being a carrier. (I'm a carrier) He is so excited and is showing the US picture to anybody that will look at it, talk about a proud daddy =-)
I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going; it’s going to be July before we know it!
I think this puts us at 4-3 Girls!
About the cravings...
I love sugar candy like Sweat tarts! I also can’t seem to eat enough grapes and oranges. The other night I HAD to make a pineapple upside-down cake???
Hope everyone is feeling good!
I actually think its 5-3 **girls** I think Kelseylee said girl as well, so that makes 5!!! Woot woot! Go PINK!
I think someone made a list of members/due dates...I think since everyone is starting to find out the sex of their babies...we should add that to the list as well :)
Congrats PROUD and RYAN on the girls! Sounds like we are all getting just what we wanted. I go back the 10th.
I have been meaning to ask EVERYONE....
Do you plan on or have you ever done a belly cast? I did one my 1st daughter but it burned in a house fire, did one with my 2nd daughter and left it unsanded- then painted it to match her crib set (I will have to take a pic tomorrow and post it). And of course, I plan to do one with our son. I love doing them. I do them about 36 weeks and it is so crazy to look back and see how big I was!! But I think it is a great memory. I have seen some that women turn into "artwork" around the house, I have even seen them turned into flower pots. I just hung Bayleigh's in the nursery, just took it down yesterday to change the nursery over to the baby.
I will post pics of mine tomorrow from my last pregnancy.
Ryans- Congrats on your girl as well! I cannot wait for her to be here! Also, glad to hear the news on the cystic fibrosis. Hope all else is well.
Dj- That is adorable! I don't know where to even look for someone around here to do something like that, but I would love to do so!
Got to run and get to work. Hope everyones week is going good so far!
Dj - Wow, that is such an awesome idea on the belly cast! Im from the June mommys. Is this something you did yourself?? Let me know as I think this is such a cool idea! Thanks!
We got the kit off Ebay (search belly cast kit). It is very messy. Basically you vasaline your whole belly and boobs so the plaster doesn't stick. Some kits come as "pre" plasters strips of gauze and some you have to mix the plaster yourself then wet the strips. Honestly from experience, the kits that you have to mix the plaster is much sturdier b/c you can just pack on the plaster like crazy. It takes about 15 minutes to dry enough to take off (your belly will get kinda hot) and you have to let it sit for like 3 days then you can sand it- or leave it like I did and paint on it. I also trimmed my edges so they would be cleaner. BTW- my husband did both of mine and he enjoyed it too. You have to do it in your panties since the plaster goes kinda low. LOL!
Any thoughts...
So, I am 19 weeks along and have a US scheduled for next wednesday. The baby has been active for about 4-5 weeks now but I hadnt felt him move in 3 days. So, this past Wednesday (2 days ago) I went to the dr and she said it was normal for my stage of pregnancy & did a doppler on me. Got his heartbeat w/ some difficulty- he is always stubborn. She told me he could be turned backwards and/or breech and therefore his kicks are not very strong. I have been having alot of back pain for about the past week. She told me not to worry and keep my appt for next week. Well, it is 2 days later and I still havent felt him kick (so that is 5 days I haven't felt kicking). Anyone have any thoughts?
TIA
Dj- I was worried about this around the same time frame you are in now. I wouldn't feel any movement for a few days at at time after feeling it for a while. Now, at 22 weeks I feel movement regularly and daily. If there is a heartbeat I would think everything is ok. If you don't feel him over the weekend I would call the doctor and just explain you are still very nervous as it's been (8 or so days at this point) and see what is said. Like I said though I would think since there is a heartbeat everything should be okay and it is probably perfectly normal! Hope all is well!
dj - Given that you and I are only 2 days apart from each other on our Due Dates I have to admit that I'm jealous you've been feeling so much at this point. I'm lucky to feel some thumping once every 4 or so days (so basically once a week sometimes!) and when it does happen it's only for maybe 5 minutes and it's done and there is nothing again for days at a time. I pretty much think that if our doctors aren't overly concerned then we shouldn't be either (which is hard sometimes!)
---
Guess I might as well do an update since I'm already here. I have 13 days until my first U.S. and I swear the days are dragging. I've upped my hours at work so now I put in 9 hour days for four days since the husband hasn't had a job for a couple of months and we are needing the little extra cash. Needless to say attempting to keep my stress levels down has been difficult at times dealing with naughty 7 and 8 year olds and then with my husband and our finances.
I'm starting to get a little excited that now I'm somewhat starting to get a little belly. I can't wait until I've got a big round thing in front of me and people stop whispering that I'm just getting fatter (which I know those that don't already know around here are thinking).
Anyone else having a hard time with acne or is it just me in here? I'm finding they are changing into more boil like things than pimples. (Sorry if TMI).
Brazen- I am having a problem with acne to! Luckily for me though it's not on my face, it's on my back! That's okay right now because it's always covered up, but I'm hoping it clears up here soon or spring and summer isn't going to be fun always having to make sure my back doesn't look bad in whatever I'm wearing! Hope yours gets better as well...it's very aggravating I know!
dj - I didn't feel the baby move regularly until about 19 weeks. A few days after my 20 week ultrasound, I felt like I wasn't feeling baby as much, and then a few days later she kicked up a storm again. So maybe she had switched positions or something.
Regarding acne, mine seems to flare up when my face gets too dry. Washing it with a non-soap soap and lotioning up afterwards seems to help. I hear hormones make acne worse during pregnancy anyway. For acne on your back, do you sleep with a nightgown or t-shirt? I found out that mine went away (before I was pregnant) if I just slept without anything on. Lets the skin breathe more or something =)
I don't know about you gals, but I feel sooo gassy and constipated most of the time. I try to eat a lot of veggies but by the end of the day, I feel like a balloon. I don't really want to take any medication for it so I'm just putting up with it.
At the beginning of my pregnancy I had some trouble with acne but thankfully it has given me a break. I have also been a bit on the gassy side and I have not found anything to help with that. About the constipation, I take 250 mg of Magnesium daily and it really helps keep me going LOL. (This was advice from my doctors office.) Other than Tums does anybody have anything good for heartburn. I must be having a very hairy baby =-)
I am also feeling the financial stresses of our great economy… I have found that being proactive about the situation has helped make me feel better. I have cut everything out of the budget that doesn’t NEED to be there and I have been working on doing a loan modification on my mortgage which has saved me almost $600 a month! I am also considering starting a new division for the company I work for to help out too. I am very lucky that my husband is doing the same things plus taking on a lot of the household chores.
Happier thoughts! Baby movement, I am just over 22 weeks and talk about girl power! This girl is so busy and is very strong. I can now see my belly move when she kicks. I don’t remember this happening this early with my other 2 pregnancies. She must be in just the right position so I feel everything. I did find out at my US that she is head down (which I know can change) but I am very happy since my last one was breach and ended up in an emergency c-section.
Is anybody else having Braxton Hicks? I have been having them for weeks now. Its gonna be a long 18 weeks to go!
Hope everybody stays well!
Ryans- First off, have you ever said your name on here? If so could you please tell me again I've either over looked it or forgotten. Sorry I have a very bad memory lol. You can drink milk for heartburn. They tell you not to do this pregnant or not because it just covers it up and it is still doing damage to your esophagus and such, but that's about the only thing that really helps me. They can also give you a prescription that is safe during pregnancy but it didn't help me with my first so I'm not going to try it this time. I can definitely agree with the girl power thing! She kicks the crap out of me a lot. I can't see my stomach move yet, but I can definitely feel her quite well. I have also started having braxton hicks over the past few weeks. They don't bother me to bad at the moment as long as they stay the way they are now!
Ele- I have heard the thing about sleeping bare to let your skin breath, but my husband works night shift and my 4 year old son is in bed with me a lot or in there before I wake up in the mornings so I can't do that. I'm hoping my gets better soon before summer gets here! Also, maybe you should try eating less veggies. A friend of mine did the same time when she pregnant and they told her that veggies was probably what was doing it and now that she is breastfeeding there are certain vegetables that gives her daughter gas. Of course you don't want to cut them out completely but maybe try to cut back and see if that works.
Not much going on with me except there is no denying I'm pregnant now (not that I have haha!) My belly definitely looks like a preggo belly at this point. I can't believe I will be 23 weeks pregnant this Friday! Almost to 6 months! It has flown by for me, but I'm afraid it will start to slow down here soon and take forever the last 3 months or so. It's starting to warm up here so I will be starting to get some stuff ready for the babies room here in the near future. We have so much to do for that. My son currently uses the room we are using for a toy room so I have to figure out what I'm going to do with everything. That won't be fun but getting the room ready for my new arrival will be a blast!
Hope everyone is doing great and had a wonderful weekend!
The Insurance Drama Llama has reared it's ugly head yet again in my camp. At first it was that I had to pre-authorize a pregnancy (yes you read that right...ask permission to get pregnant) which I didn't know I had to do and by the time I went to the doctor I was almost 2 months preggers. Luckily they approved it anyways.
Well yesterday I get a letter in the mail from my insurance company telling me they've denied my ultrasound for the 18th of March. They denied it because the Ultrasounds the Doctor is considered only available for over 14 weeks if there are any fetal anatomical or genetic abnormalities. So this basically means I have to pay out of pocket for my ultrasound unless we can get our Military insurance kicked in fast enough to get it approved through Tricare.
I swear this insurance I have from work is the worst insurance any person could have. Things would be a lot smoother if this didn't keep happening.
----------
On the other side of things I'm finally starting to look somewhat pregnant. I can no longer suck in any stomach that I used to have...it just stays the same...so this has gotten me really excited (not to mention the fact that I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow!!)
I have had horrible gas sometimes as well. Some days are better than other of course. I'm just lucky that my husband finds it rather amusing than anything else.
Heartburn and Indigestion have been haunting me bascially this whole 2nd trimester. I drink the milk and eat the tums and whatnot but sometimes it just doesn't seem like anything helps. Isn't heartburn supposed to be some sort of a sign that you'll have a hairy baby? lol
ProudMaMa&Wife
03-09-2010, 06:29 PM
Brazen-Sounds like your insurance is a pain in the rear! I guess just be glad you have them as some people aren't as fortunate as us to have insurance. As far as the heartburn and hair go...guess what! That isn't a myth it is actually true. I did a little research on it awhile back. It doesn't always mean you will have a baby with hair, but research shows that the same hormone that causes or aids in heartburn is the same hormone that helps a baby to develop hair in pregnancy! Crazy huh?!
So I had my ultra sound on Feb13th and I am having a BOY! Sorry I am bad at keeping up on here. Everything is going well. No heartburn, no gas, constipation, etc. Only problem I have is Siaticus with my siatic nerve in my left leg. Somedays it gets bad and I cant even hardly bend or move to much! But I have learned that if I keep up with the gym it helps keep it away! Glad everyone seems to be doing well. Anyone have names picked out? We are thinking of Cody Michael.
So I'm 19 weeks almost 20! The past 5 months have just flown by! I have a US this coming Tuesday so we are very excited. They're going to check the sex again to be for sure, so hopefully we will get our girl=] I've been feeling more and more movement everyday and a lot of pressure around my abdomen. I've been having the problem lately where I never feel like eating. I have no idea what it is and I eat anyways, but afterwards, I just feel sick. Does anyone know how to make it go away??!?
Where is the time going? I feel like I just found out I was pregnant! I only hope that the last 10 weeks go by this fast! I know with my son, that last month DRAGGED!
So, I think we have settled on a name. Lexis Diana. It took a bit, but the name Lexis finally grew on me ;) and so far, I haven't gotten any complaints! I'm just glad that its a name my boyfriend picked. A lot of my friends with children said that the dad wasn't really that big into picking a name, that it was more of a "I don't really care, as long as I can pronounce it." We've already started telling family that its the name we've chosen, so...
Found this on another pregnancy site, thought I would share it because I KNOW I've seen this question asked way back in the beginning. Its about why sites say you're a week ahead of what you really are :
This is possibly one of the most common questions we have, and the explanation for this is very simple. If you are 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant, then you are actually in the 10th week of your pregnancy. After all, you have completed 9 weeks already + 2 days, and this is why you are in the 10th week of your pregnancy. It is not to be confused with you have completed 10 weeks.
Well an update on my last post. I had last posted about my lovely insurance denying my ultrasound based on the fact that I'm seemingly healthy. Well today I got a call saying that my doctor had resubmitted his request and the insurance approved that request.
I was told I'm approved for an echography. Any of you ladies know what that is? I've been attempting to look it up on the computer but haven't been very successful. I was told that it's basically the same thing as an untrasound or a sonogram?
Anyways I guess I'll find out for sure on Thursday when I go in!
We went in on Thursday and had an ultrasound (my mom went with us it was her first time seeing one!). My doctor didn't change my due date or anything, the tech had the baby due date at 8/3 after measuring the head...my doctor said he was within a few days and that was fine and it was staying 7/28ish. Oh and he said the baby weighs 14 ounces and looked perfect... and my quad came back comepletely clean so there were high fives given in the lobby with him.
Anyways we're having a GIRL!
Hello ladies! Haven't posted in awhile and thought I would respond to everyones post and give an update on myself.
Nata- Congratulations on the boy! I'm glad everything is going well for you for the most part! I like the name as well...
Dj- Hopefully your little prince makes it until he is supposed to arrive! Glad he is growing well! Loved the pics!!!
Kelsey & LS- Time has definitely flown by! I can't believe in just a little over 3 months for me I will have a baby girl here with me and our family will be complete!
Congratulations on your girl Kelsey! I know you like to see everything and know everything is okay on first US but at least you get another one! I could have one every time I go to the doctor if they would let me haha!
Also LS- That makes since on the week ahead thing. I thought about that but was never 100% sure.
Brazen- Congratulations on your girl! Also, glad your quad came back fine.
As for myself I was 6 months (24 weeks) on Friday! I can't believe I'm already that far along! Everything is going great...she moves up a storm and my belly is growing more and more every day. I've been in a few pair of my regular jeans but they are starting to not fit as well!
Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying every moment of pregnancy!
Well, I had a little scare this past weekend...
We bought the girls a trampoline and I got on it with them. I didnt really jump, just bounced lightly maybe a dozen times over the course of a few hrs.
Then next day I woke up to a terrible backache and my whole stomach was tight w/ tons of pressure in my lower stomach. After going to walmart the pain was worse, nothing was helping. So Dr put me on bestrest for 2 days! Thank God my hubby was here to take care of the girls. I kept telling my hubby we can not have him now!! I am 22 wks along. SO after almost 3 days the tightness went away but still having the backache. I have been trying not to pick up our 16mth old, just to avoid making things worse.
And I am not going near the trampoline.LOL
Other than that- still very pregnant & very happy. Hope everyone else is too.
Week 23 has arrived for me and it has brought along with it a massive head cold. I talked to the doctor and he said I can take any Tylenol product I want. I've come to the conclusion after 2 days of this horrible crud and no sleep that I'm probably just as well off not taking any meds as I am with taking them. I take them and nothing changes between the time I take them and when they've "run their course". My only hope at this time is that what little bit of rest I can get and the oodles of orange juice I've been drinking somehow cut this thing short.
Our household these past three days are horrible. Pregnant + head cold + no sleep = very grumpy momma! (I will note that the boys have been on their best behavior the last two days...!)
My stomach is still in two distinct pieces...a top and a middle divided by an indent. My husband made a comment the other day that my side view looked like a Fraggle Rock character...big nose...open mouth and a big chin. I'm still waiting for the lovely middle part to pop out and join the rest of my body that has so graciously swelled.
Hey ladies! Hope all is well!
Brazen- Hope your cold gets better. Being sick is never any fun, but it is worse when you are pregnant. Also, tell your husband that comment wasn't very nice lol. Hope you start to 'shape' up some! haha
I had a 3D ultrasound done today...can you say totally awesome! It was one of the greatest things ever. We didn't have that offered where I doctor or within an hour and 30 minutes of me when I was pregnant with my son. Here are a few pics and by the way SHE is definitely a SHE!
Tiffany- Your little girl is very cute and looks so happy! It really is amazing that you can SEE your baby with the 3D's!
I hope everybody is feeling well. I just went to the Dr. for my 26 week apt. I need to go the hospital in 2 weeks for my glucose test and RhoGam shot. Then I go back 2 weeks after that for my 30 week apt then I'm on the every 2 week schedule for dr apts. I also start my birthing classes on May 4th! Is it just me or is time just flying by? It seems like I just found out I'm pregnant! But on the other hand I feel like I have been carrying this child FOREVER!!! I have been feeling pretty good most days but I still have lots of back/hip pain. My dr told me to try water aerobics or just hanging out in a pool so I plan on trying that soon. I am also now taking prilosec for the heartburn/ acid reflux and it has helped a lot! Other than that there is no real change or exciting news which is a good thing at this point.
Topics for discussion... What is everybody going to do as far as work/ stay at home? What about daycare? How did you find the perfect one?
Also is anybody up for sharing their belly pics? I know we are all getting big and I love showing off my belly!
Just a thought since we have seemed to slow down on our postings...
Hope everybody stays well!
Ry- I'm all for sharing belly pics...though mine will probably be the most weird looking one on here! (since I still have 2 bumps) :(
I'm planning on staying home for my six weeks and then having to go back to work... though if she comes early then I'll get a couple extra weeks with her. (I work for a school so luckily I'm off work when she's supposed to be here!). Then when I go back to work either my sister-in-law will move up here for a while and take care of her until my mother retires from being a Judge (which she's thinking November) or she'll have to go to daycare for a few months...if not the whole time. I'd rather she not go to daycare (not that I have anything against it!) just would like family there, that's what I had when I was little. I only have 1 daycare here to choose from so that eliminates the process of finding one!
Also anyone been working on their baby rooms? Want to share those pics as well? haha I thought I'd ask since we finally got ours done this weekend and I'm interested in seeing what everyone else is doing.
And I'll bring it up since it's been a hidden thing on here: hemorrhoids. Anyone suffering from these yet? I ask because I think I have one (not 100% possitive since I've never had one before). Just curious if you are what you are doing to help relieve the lovelyness of pain that comes with them.
--
Other news: Week 24 started for me yesterday. Headcold is somewhat getting better...I can at least breathe so that's a first step...and I'm not hacking up my lungs every 10 minutes (I'm sure the baby is enjoying some sort of relief from hearing that!). I've noticed that her schedule has changed and I think that has a lot to do with me being off work for a week. She's getting pretty aggressive in there at times and sometimes it feels like I'm going to lose my lunch when she goes so hard. Sad thing is I know this is nothing compared to what she'll deal out later!
Guess I will be the first to show the belly. In these pics I am 24 weeks (today) along with baby #3 (our first boy). I feel like I am as big now as I was at 39 weeks with my girls. Last Dr visit I had gained 7 total but I am sure that number has doubled by now. So, plz excuse the messy room behing me and my crappy looks- I just got out of the shower!
His room has been complete for about 6 weeks now so I will have to get in there soon and take pics of it as well. I never knew just how cute a boy's room could be. LOL.
I am already a SAHM and plan on keeping it that way until I finish working on my RN, about the time he starts school. My 3 yr old starts headstart (just 6 hrs a week) 3 weeks after he is expected so that will help us get into a routine.
Brazen- You are so lucky to have family that will be able to watch the baby for you! I've go nothing on the hemorrhoids... but hope you find relief soon!
DJ- How cute! I feel the same way about being as big now as I did when I delivered my other children (this is my 3rd as well). That is awesome that you have only gained 7lbs. You look great! I'm up to 16 as of week 26-yuck! (I only gained 22 and 23 with my others)
I will be posting my pictures soon... (my MIL just took a few and I'm waiting for her to send them).
I can't believe that DJ and Brazen have their nurseries’' done already! I have paint samples and a room full of boxes... I guess I need to get my husband movin'!
I need to start looking into daycare and would prefer not to use the center that my kids attend now (which I love) until the baby is about 18 months when they need more child to child interaction and can really benefit from the great educational curriculum that is offered. I would prefer a home based setting that is homier, comfortable, and cozy without too many children so she will get more attention. I'm just not sure how to go about finding it...
Hey ladies! As far as my nursery goes...nope...not even started! We are moving my son to the bigger bedroom and putting the baby where he is now. We plan on starting this coming weekend! I'm super excited about it! As far as daycare or such...I do plan on going back to work as bad as I'm not going to want to at first I know it! My MIL has always watched my son, but she wants to do it in her home and I prefer for this time around the baby to stay home. I feel they are more used to their home and it's much easier to get off work and go home than to have to round up kids first! So, my cousin has agreed to come and watch her in my household for very little money a week! We will see what happens...
I will post belly pictures later today! DJ you are adorable! I hope to see more soon and pictures of nurseries as well from you ladies well ahead of schedule!
Hey everyone. I will be 25 weeks this friday and I'm starting to get really excited! The time has passed so fast, and I can't wait to see our baby girl! I had a doctors appointment and an ultrasound today and everything is going well. There is a little bit of fluid around her left kidney but my doctor's not worried, so I wont!
Caydence and I will be sharing a room for a year or so until I'm old enough to move out and marry my fiance. We don't have much of anything yet except diapers and clothes but my first baby shower out of three is in a couple of weeks, so we should be getting the bigger stuff.
I dont have all of my belly pictures downloaded on the computer but I'll get some newer ones on soon. Also, here's some more pictures of our beautiful baby girl, Caydence Rose=]
1st belly:8 weeks
2nd belly:12 weeks
3rd belly:16 weeks
Hello Ladies!
I have to say I'm quite jealous of the belly pics I've seen so far! I really can't wait until my middle section leaves and I end up with one bump instead of 2! I might add that this week I have stretch marks in my middle section.... I was so excited! (probably the last time I'll ever be excited to see stretch marks!)
I've started week 25 today. Monday was a tough day since it was my first day back to work in a week. I had a lot of activity from Claire on Monday morning...which surprised me. It almost felt like she was doing sommersaults in there... (I kept telling my husband that his daughter was throwing a tantrum because that's what it honestly felt like). Needless to say she made it kind of hard to concentrate on anything else.
I'm really hoping to get some pictures posted up here this weekend. I have to take my weird belly pictures first and then get the husband to put them on the computer.
Note- Out nursery isn't "finished". To me "finished" meant that the hard work was done! lol We painted and replaced carpet and then closed the door because I was sort of freaking out on the color of the walls. I went in there this morning though and it's MUCH better! I do have a mattress but no crib as UPS destroyed the crib before it even made it out to where I live...so it's headed back to the shipping yard and I'm guessing they'll send another one out. I really have no idea what's going on there. And I'm going to be ordering some Cordless blinds for the baby room, I spent yesterday online pricing a couple different places and decided to go with the Made to Measure Up/Down, Down/Up Cordless from JCPenney. Then hopefully the fun stuff will start to happen and I can actually decorate.
Kelsey- The belly pictures are very cute! Can't wait to see more! I haven't bought to much at this point either and I'm surprised at myself I really thought I would have. I'm waiting on my baby shower as well to see what I get there.
Brazen- I haven't even started on my nursery! We are hopefully starting this weekend. I'm anxious to see your belly pics I'm sure they are adorable!
I can't believe that in 2 days I will be 7 months! 28 weeks has just flown by! It is slowing down now though I think...so hoping the next 12 weeks don't take forever!
Hi, ladies. I went to the dr last week for my 25 week check up and all is well. I have gained 15 pounds (8 of which were in the past 5 weeks!!!). Baby is doing well. I swear he never sleeps! I go back May 5th for my glucose test. My sister gave birth this past week to a beautiful baby girl (Emily Grace) and now I really have baby fever!
I really feel like this pregnancy is just dragging on! It seems like I have been pregnant- and big- forever now. I just keep telling myself 14 more weeks (since I am having a c section at 39 weeks). I did measure 2 weeks ahead of schedule at the dr and she really doesn't expect me to make it to 39 weeks. Something about my cervix.... IDK. So, hope all is well. My grandparents that I haven't seen since I got married 5 years ago are flying in on the 28th so I have TONS of cleaning to do.
This board always seems so dead! Guess that's a good thing and it will become more active the closer we get, and we want to complain and things about all this being over and us being able to enjoy our prince/princess!
As for me, I went to the doctor this past Friday and had my glucose test. It wasn't to bad, but I just despise the drink...it taste horrible! There are 4 doctors in the practice that I go to and I pretty much like all of them, but my opinion might have changed on this visit. The doctor I seen at my last visit had read through my charts and wanted to know why I didn't want an epidural or pitocin this time around if I didn't have a bad experience with my son. He didn't seem to like my outlook on things very well. I explained to him I wasn't against the epidural as it did wonders with my son and I wasn't saying I for sure wasn't going to get it. I just want to try my best to go without it! On the other hand I am completely against pitocin unless it is absolutely needed! I have read enough on it now that I don't think it is necessary half the time it is used and it shouldn't be used unless it comes down to being needed. I learned this is why my contractions were so hard, long, and closer together with my son. Anyway, I'm sticking to my grounds! I'm the one paying him to treat me and if he ends up delivering he will have to deal with my birth plan unless something goes wrong and it needs changed or he can call in another doctor...I mean am I in the wrong for that?
Anyway, I can't believe I will be 29 weeks Friday! I'm counting down to 30 which will be here in a week and 2 days! I don't know exactly why I'm looking forward to 30 weeks but I am! I guess because it will be so good to count down...10...9...8...and so forth!!!!!!! Haha :D!
I hope all you ladies are doing great and hope to hear from you soon as well as see belly pics from those of you that have yet to post!
Ahh, I haven't been on here in forever :( Everyone's bellies are looking great :) I really don't have many belly pics right now, but in the next few days, I'll get the BF to take a couple just for here.
I'm at 30 weeks and 2 days! I cannot believe its almost time for Miss Lexi to join us! We have SOOOO much to do in 10 weeks...I don't even know where to start! Haven't even started on her room yet. We've been waiting for BF's dad to get all his stuff out of there...so, we FINALLY got permission to toss it all on Friday :) So my BFF and I will be starting her room VERY VERY soon!
Is anyone here planning on throwing their own baby shower? I'm considering it, seeing as how the BF's family doesn't seem to interested in it. And, my family is in a different state. I feel like I'm kind of expecting them to do it, but...isn't that the way baby showers work? **didnt have one with Levi** Normally I wouldn't really mind...but, we've got 2 boys! So we have NOTHING for a girl...NOTHING! We have all the big stuff...crib, swing, etc...but as far as clothes and what not...NOTHING!
I've got nada for the hemorrhoids. Been lucky enough not to get them. However, constipation has been # 2 on my list of horrible pregnancy symptoms. Still off and on with the throwing up, and I have come to the conclusion that that isn't going away until she's out.
I started my every 2 week appointments! I'm hoping the next 10 weeks go by pretty quickly....AFTER her room is done ;) Hope everyone is doing well! I will get some belly pics in the next couple days! <3 <3
I went to the Doctor on Thursday (26 weeks 1 day!) and did my glucose test. I had the orange drink and I have to say that I really enjoyed the drink! It tasted like orange BUG JUICE or something similar. So I had NO problems drinking that whole thing...now if something went wrong and I have to drink the HUGE one....that might be a different story.
I saw my doctor for a whole 2 minutes during the visit. All he really did was ask if I had drank my stuff and if my ankles/wrists were swelling (which he then checked and of course they aren't!). Sometimes I get worried that the visits are so short and I almost don't see the point in going. I will say I was bummed out when I made a 10 pound gain in the past month. I about died looking at the scale. And the nurse had to chase baby Claire around to get a fetal heartrate on her, she just wasn't interested in sitting still long enough to locate a solid beat lol.
Belly/room pictures will hopefully be uploaded tonight...and crib #2 should be here tomorrow...so everyone cross their fingers for me! I really don't want to have to buy a 3rd!
i am in my 7th month of my pregnancy and we are excited that we are having a little girl and naming her Amelia Earhart Lichtenberger and she is very active she seems to move around all the time especially when her daddy talks to her on the right side of my stomach she knows if she lays on that side her daddy will talk to her, he loves it cause she kicks when she hears his voice. if she is really active when i am ready for bed i will pour myself a glass of milk and put it in the microwave to warm it up and it soothes her. i am due july 17
This board is very dead but I only come here to post in this Thread so that is all I pay attention to. I go back next week for my glucose. Last visit the Dr told me she expected me to have him early July rather than late July (c section scheduled for the 23rd) but my in-laws (that I love) called and said they would like to come & watch our girls while we are at the hospital. But that means we have to make it to the scheduled c section so they can have the time requested off from work- plus they live 7 hours away. So I am starting to think I will be as LAZY as possible the month of July so the baby stays in there! LOL. Right now the plan is for my mother in law to stay at our house with the girls but that is really the last thing I want- but we have no one else. I would much rather my FIL and MIL (step MIL) come from Florida.
I am not having a shower because by the time I was 18 weeks my hubby and I had already bought EVERYTHING. I mean, there is nothing we need so for us a baby shower is pointless. I would like to have a get together with some of our couple friends though- maybe a nice dinner out with no kids.
I finally took some pics of his room. The 1st is just a picture from the doorway. The 2nd is an upclose of the crib. SO CUTE. We decided on the "transportation" theme. The 3rd pic is of his swing & rocker. The swing is covered in a bassinet sheet because it is pink & grey from out last daughter. She barely used it so we just covered it up. And I took the pink bears that were hanging on it and I made fish instead! The last picture is the walls. My hubby is a BIG fan of decals that are removable and not painting.
Hope to see more pictures soon and as long as you ladies keep posting here- I will too. It is nice to share your pregnancy with someone who is going through the same thing. And if your like me (2 little kids already) you life is so wrapped up in taking care of them sometimes you don't get time for yourself so this is a nice outlit.
dj- the nursery is ADORABLE!!!
Is anyone going to banking their baby's cord blood? If so, who are you planning on banking with? I've been doing a bit of research into, because I would really like to bank her cord blood. I know that it can benefit siblings, parents, and even grandparents. And, my mother has had a lot of back/spinal cord problems for the past 2 years. So I'm hoping to bank it with the possibility that it could help :) If not, then it will still be there in just in case :)
dj- the room looks really cute!
ls- we plan on banking the cord blood in the public bank. I can't afford to privately bank and I don't just want to throw it way so if someone else can use it then so be it!
I had originally planned to post pictures (since we got her crib and even put it together!) but my mom ended up buying us a changing table and a little side table so I'm going to go ahead and wait until we get those and put them together... then we'll have all the major furniture in her room. Still no pictures or anything on the walls as of yet.
Almost to week 28 and I've had the worst heartburn of my life the last two weeks. I've just given up on taking things since nothing seems to calm the firey molten lava that is apparently flowing in my gut.
I still haven't heard from the Dr. about my glucose test (which was now over a week ago) so I'm assuming everything on there was fine. My next visit is on the 20th and I'll be 30 weeks! Now I'm starting to feel a little anxious/nervous about this whole baby thing. Seems like it's moving way too fast!
I will be banking cord blood at a public bank as well. Private banking is so expensive but it is nice to know that maybe we are helping a little baby somewhere. I will be 28 weeks on Friday. Went to DR this am and all is good. His heart rate was 120's-130's. Also did my glucose today. GOSH I HATE THE DRINK. It was everything I could do to drink it. My 16 mth old wanted some so bad.
Brazen- I have the heartburn too. EVERYNIGHT. So he better have ALOT of hair like my girls did. LOL
My appts will now be every 2 weeks! Very exciting- only 11 weeks to go.
Hey ladies! First off I have to say I agree about the heartburn...It is horrible! My son had lots of hair and I had tons of heartburn so yes Dj I hope this one is the same!
DJ-The nursery is adorable! I've had so much to do before I can even start on the nursery! So, I am two weeks farther along than you and your about a month ahead of me on that stuff haha!
Brazen- I never heard anything about my glucose test and then when I went back last week they told me it was okay. Therefore, I'm sure you are fine as well if you haven't heard anything! At least I hope so!!!
Our spare bedroom was the bigger bedroom because it was farther away from us and our smaller one belonged to our son. I am now moving him to the bigger bedroom which I feel more comfortable doing since he is 5 instead of 1 like when we moved in here. That means she will get his room, but she will sleep in our room for awhile. I just picked up the playpen/bassinet that I had ordered from Wal-Mart yesterday. It is adorable!!! My swing, car seat, and stroller will be the same thing. It is 2 shades of pink, 2 shades of grey and very little white. I have got so much done around the house this week and it needed it so bad! We have cleaned...painted...and everything in between. Hopefully, my nursery will be complete by the beginning of June since we have to get my son into his new room before I can even start on her room. I also go to the doctor every 2 weeks now...Will be going back on Monday the 17th...I normally go on Friday but had them change my day to the day I'm off work. I am currently 30 weeks on 5 days! I can't believe I only have a little over 9 weeks left! I'm super excited and May should fly because I have a busy month between the house, work, and life in general. Hope all you ladies are doing well!
Sorry to those of you who I didn't reply specifically to...I just remembered what I had read from last night and responded to that! Talk to you ladies sometime soon...If not before I will definitely be on here around the 17th to tell about the doctor visit and to tell about the shower! Oh, and by the way in case I don't post between now and then...Happy Mothers Day!
I haven't posted in forever! I have just been so busy but I did want to quickly say Hi to everybody and check in.
I am officially 32 weeks today! I feel great but I am carrying this little girl very high and its causing me to have a hard time breathing. I am not sleeping very well these days and I'm very tired. Her movements have changed in the last few weeks to more of a roll and streach rather than the kicks and punches from before.
I was having a lot of issue with heartburn too, I told my Dr. and they gave me a rx that has really helped! So if you are suffering talk to your doctor they just may help you!
I'll try to post again after my next apt (which is Tues). I am starting to feel like I live at the Dr. office now!
Hope everybody stays well!
I swear pictures are on their way! Life has been totally hecktic (with me working 9 hour days plus baseball games/practices every night of the week/dealing with the boys' birthmom crap) I'm having a hard time catching my breath!
ALL of our nursery furniture is now here and assembled...and I think I got everything where I wanted it yesterday. I even hung the first thing up on the wall yesterday!
I go to the doctor on the 20th which will put me at 30 weeks. Hopefully my blood pressure will be okay since next week is going to be horrible (9 hour days/baseball/husband coming down on orders for a week so he'll be gone/meetings every night). I'm hoping the checkup looks good though. I'm kind of concerened that she's way low and all the pressure I'm feeling down there..so maybe he'll make me feel like everything is alright!
Oh and I survived the flu. I had it on Monday. Being pregnant is one thing...having the flu on top of that and not able to keep anything down for 24 hours is another :( But we both made it just fine. I think I got it from being too stressed with everything that's going on at one time. I have 9 more days left at work...then things should at least calm down a little bit.
Well.. Not much to report. Sorry I haven't posted- my family was in from Texas that I have not seen in 5 years and this past weekend was my anniversary. I go back to the Dr this upcoming Wednesday and on Friday I will be 30 weeks along. Feeling as well as expected I guess.
Alot of back pain on the right side. But I swear the baby has NEVER been on my left side. I have never felt him over there or even felt him kick over there. So, I think the is a big part of the pain. Stubborn already!!
Will post back after drs appt and I will take some more belly pics this week.
Well we had a GREAT start to week 30 by having a trip to the ER last night. My husband made me go, and no it didn't have to do with anything with the baby. I had a huge abscess under my left arm (think right below the armpit...we're talking 2 inches long by 1 inch wide type purple thing). He made me go since it had doubled in size in the last 24 hours at least and was so sore I could hardly do anything.
Needless to say that I suggest anyone go WAY before it hits that point lol. But everything got drained (husband even took pictures of it being drained because he's gross like that!), stuffed with guaze and bandaged. Now I have to have the baby doctor check it out on Thursday and remove the "wick" (guaze) from it, that is if it's still in there then. I'm on antibiotics four times a day for at least 10 days.... and add one really sore arm to the mix!
And of course Tylenol is all the pain relief I get...what little relief it supplies :(
The ER doctor kept asking about my glucouse levels and what the test had said because he said that abscesses like that are generally a result of a higher glucouse level. Since I haven't heard anything about my test I really couldn't tell him anything.
So here's to waiting until Thursday to see how not only the baby is doing but my poor arm as well.
I cannot believe I will be 34 weeks on Saturday! Little over 6 weeks to go!
I'll get some picture up REAL soon :) We are almost done with Lexi's room. It only took me a couple of months to finally get my boyfriend's dad to get his crap outta there so we could start working on it! The BF put up the last piece of drywall yesterday! Bought the paint today...so hopefully we'll get a good portion done this weekend. Then....PICTURES!!!
A friend of our's actually ended up throwing me a surprise baby shower. AND...my boyfriend kinda slipped up and told me about the baby shower his mom has planned...that was also supposed to be a surprise. So, everyone just disregard my little rant about no baby shower :)
All is well with little Miss Lexi....other than the fact that my asthma has been acting up REALLY bad the past few weeks. Luckily, I have an AMAZING asthma/allergy/immunologist! My OB said my breathing should return to normal once she's born! I actually lost about 5 lbs since my last visit 2 weeks ago. Thought that was pretty odd...considering I really haven't been sick the past few weeks at all. But, the dr said she is growing just fine, so I guess I'm not going to worry :)
My other baby is going to be 4 in just a few weeks! So I've got a birthday party to plan! I'm upset that my step son won't be here for his birthday OR for Lexi's birth. He will be visiting his mom...who, despite us telling her we wanted him for both, said NO. I just really think its important for him to be here during her first few weeks so they can bond. Its a VERY important time for ALL of us....something that he should get to be a part of. But...what can you do? She'll still have PLENTY of time to get to know her big bro :)
Hope everyone else is doing good! Hoping that the lack of posts is because everyone is busy busy busy getting ready for our little bundles! We're all in the home stretch Mommas!!!
Hey ladies don't have much time to respond to every one right now, but I'm glad to see it looks as if everyone is doing well. My last appointment was this past Monday and everything looked good. I don't know about you ladies, but I'm so over being pregnant! Not only do I want to meet and hold my little princess, but I'm starting to get to the miserable stage...I can't sleep (which has been going on for awhile), I get indigestion if I eat to much but yet I'm hungry, and the list goes on and on haha. I will be 34 weeks on Friday so I am getting there. It actually has flown by! We got out little boy moved into his new room and started painting her room, but it isn't done. Hopefully it will be done by the end of next weekend.
Going to run...glad to see you ladies are doing well! We are just about there!!!
I went to the doctor on the 20th...that was my 30 week checkup. Needless to say this one was just as fast as the other visits I've had. My glucose tested at a 127, which he seemed a little surprised about (then again he always seems surprised when I don't fit into the "obese pregnant woman" box they've put me in). He took the bandages off my abscess and send it looked very well. Turns out that the ER doctor I had and my OB used to do surgeries together back in the day (which is funny to think about since my OB is like 6'4" and the ER doctor is like 5'3").
Claire was hiding from getting her heartrate done again this time. It took the nurse lady quite a while to find it. I told her that I know she's in there...I could feel her kicking. She even got to witness the lovely belly jumps from the kicks. Anyways we found Claire...she was all the way on the left side of the uterus...and kicking on the right side. Little stinker already!
Anyways he said I was good to go for another 4 weeks and I have to go back on June 17th (which will put me at 34 weeks).
I'm starting to have mixed feelings about the end of my pregnancy. Everyone keeps asking if I'm done with it yet...how much longer...don't I just hate being pregnant blahblahblah. But in reality I'm starting to get a little depressed that this whole journey is almost over for me. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to finally meet this little girl but I just can't help but feel more sad about not going through this whole experience anymore. I enjoy being pregnant and I enjoy everything I've gotten along with it. Just makes me sad that this is (extremely more than likely) the ONLY time I'm going to do this in my life. And now.. I'm 7-9 weeks away from it being all over.
Anyways! Hopefully everyone else is doing well!
*Sorry so long* Made it as short as I could.
Just wanted to get on here and let you ladies know what I have went through this weekend. I started having some pains on Friday morning. They were more uncomfortable than most braxton hicks, but they were inconsistent and such like braxton hicks. They eased up that evening and then started again Saturday afternoon. By Saturday evening they were pretty intense and not regular but close. So, I decided to be safe rather than sorry and go to the hospital. When I got there they of course hooked me up to the monitors and I indeed was contracting. They gave me 2 shots of breathine to stop my contractions as the first didn't stop anything. After hours at the hospital, my contractions didn't completely stop but came out of the range where I would be if I indeed were in labor. So, needless to say after getting home at 5 in the morning I was very tired on Sunday. Pains had died down to almost gone...felt okay...had rested some Sunday so wasn't extremely tired Sunday night. I decided though that there were some things I needed to get done just in case something happened and she did come early. So, I started washing some things that a friend of mine had given me from her daughter...etc. I was sitting in the floor folding some of the baby's clothes when I sneezed and "leaked." Of course I thought I had peed a little as this definitely isn't uncommon at this point. I got up to go clean up and change clothes and leaked some more. At this point I got it on toilet paper to observe smells (gross I know) and the color. No color...not much of a smell and definitely didn't smell like urine. So, I waited a while longer and ended up having a gush of fluids so I of course went to the hospital. When we got there they agreed my water had broken. At this point they start arranging to send me to a different hospital about an hour away because the hospital I'm delivering in isn't equipped for premature babies. Of course I was scared to death at this point! I was transferred by ambulance to this other hospital with my sister and husband following behind. When we got there they did some test and they all came back negative that my water hadn't broken. So, I was really confused at this point...the other hospital said it did, they had transferred me, and I was having contractions! They decided because it seemed to them from the stories that my water had broken that they would keep me and observe throughout the day. Some parts of the day I was having regular contractions and some points I wasn't. I was tired...scared...and aggravated! Finally after more and more testing they decided they thought I was fine to go home, but gave me the option since I lived so far away to stay overnight so they could still keep an eye on the contractions. I said I just want to go home. I didn't care to drive back if need be...I just wanted to come to my house and get in my bed. So, here we are, I made it through the night without anything happening to make me think I needed to go back! Hopefully, I can keep her in there at least a few more weeks! I may not be a July mommy after all though, but lets hope! I go to the doctor today in just about an hour and a half so we will see what is said there.
Hope all you are doing better and had a better holiday weekend than I. Talk to you ladies soon!
Quick update: Finally finished my antibiotic for my stupid abscess. Now I have a wonderful yeast infection..not only in the girly bits but on my inside thighs. Yes...inside thighs...both sides. It's been GREAT...I swear I've been in more pain and have cried more tears in the passed 4 days than I have all year. Of course all the walking and "hiking" I did up at Lake Tahoe this past weekend didn't help either (I say "hiking" because at this point walking up stairs is a hike!)
Sent husband to talk to my OB since I had to work 10 hours today. Got sent home with a RX for Diflucan and betamethasone. Just when one thing gets cleared up it seems something else pops up. I'm starting to think that this last trimester and me are going to fight the whole way.
Been feeling quite a bit of pressure still and having a LOT of activity...witnessed her actually rolling the other day. Part of it was cool, part of it made me feel sick lol.
Going to put pictures up this week. Got blinds for her room so as soon as I get pictures of those we're putting them up! (even the dreaded huge tummy picture).
Proud- I'm glad that everything seems to have calmed down a bit. Definately some scary things happening to you!
Proud- sorry to hear about all your drama! I hope everything calms down for you for a few weeks before she makes her grand appearance! Just think... in just over 2 weeks you will be 37 weeks and considered full term! (We have the same due date).
Brazen- First of all you shouldn't be working that hard! 10 hour days are far too long! I hope you have a job that is not to taxing on you. I hope you are reaching the end of your problems and can enjoy your last few weeks.
I just came from the dr. everything is status quo for now but they want to keep an eye on me because I have started to swell up! I fell like my legs are tree trunks and when I walk not all my toes touch the ground. Thank goodness its warm out since all I can wear are flip flops! I am surprised that I didn't gain any weight the last 2 weeks which makes me feel good. Baby's head is still down and my midwife said she is guessing her weight to be about 4 lbs. I am now on to weekly visits!
I have been having more and more Braxton hicks which is fine with me (I just consider it strength training for labor lol). I am starting to get the feeling of being ready to have this baby but I still have so much to do! My MIL is throwing us a couples baby shower this weekend and I am so very excited! I have never been one to snoop for presents but I have found myself looking online to see what people have gotten us. Aren't I terrible? I feel very unsettled since nothing is ready for this baby! I guess after this weekend I will have lots to do and it will all come together!
Hope everybody stays well!
Proud- WOW! Tell that baby to stay put for atleast a few more weeks! Hopefully things will get better. Keep us updated!
As for me, when to DR today, all is well. I am anemic so they will recheck that in 4 weeks. Also, the DR I have been seeing told me she will not be here for my c-section so I am switching the another DR (in the same office) who actually did my 1st 2 c-sections. I am not upset- I LOVE HIM. It was just more convienent for me to see her (on Wednesdays) so my mom could go with me to help watch my girls. So I am going to see her one more time then I will start seeing him on Fridays. So I go back on the 16th, then weekly after that. YEAH!!! Just 7 weeks and 2 days to go....
Hey ladies! Thanks to everyone for responding to my action filled post.
Glad to see you ladies are doing good for the most part!
Went to the doctor yesterday and he was as baffled as everyone else. No one seems to know why I gushed fluid multiple times with no signs of it being urine and then all the sudden stop with negative results on every test to see if it was amniotic fluid. Everything pretty much completely stopped though and I'm even allowed to continue working full time if I want to. I just switched jobs so I start tomorrow! I know what timing to switch jobs! Can't even believe they hired me at this point, but I am neighbors with the manager so that helped. Thinking she will definitely be in there for awhile longer...hopefully until July!
Brazen- Doesn't sound like you are having very good luck right now either. Nothing major, but I would agree a pain in the butt to deal with on top of being so pregnant! Hope everything gets better and you can enjoy your last weeks of pregnancy!
Ryans- Yes, I am praying to make it to 37 weeks at least, but at least after this Friday if I was to deliver they wouldn't transfer me or baby unless something was majorly wrong. Even at that point though they are pretty positive things would be ok. Didn't realize we were do on the same day. I think I remember it from when the board was first started but that has been almost 9 months ago! And I absolutely can't believe that it has been that long! Just a little over 5 weeks to go for us!!!! Can't wait!!!
Dj- Tell me about it! I think she seems to be settled back down and realized she didn't want to come out yet after all lol. As for you...no fun being anemic so hopefully that is taken care of. I was borderline with my son and I just had no energy and all sorts of things. Glad you like the doctor you are having to switch to...I wouldn't wish on any to have a doctor they didn't like at such a special time. Hope the next 7 weeks fly by for you...I am down to 5 weeks and 1 day in about 45 minutes haha.
Nice to see that all you ladies posted so recently...it was getting really dead that for awhile...I expect to see lots of post now that we are all getting so close and have lots of stories and feeling to express. I know we are all anxious...anyone nervous?
I'd like to bring up the topic of pain management during labor. What are your plans (if any)?
I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. I know I'll be a sissy and won't be able to handle the pain but then again I'm not a real huge fan of having a catherter and a giant needle being stuck in my spine either. On top of not being a fan of feeling when to push and all that other stuff that comes with an epideral.
I have also looked into a Spinal Block and a walking epideral...but I'm interested in knowing what everyone else is planning to do.
(Since this is more than likely the only time I'm pregnant and get to experience this I think it's making it a little bit harder for me to decide!)
proud- Nervous? NOT AT ALL. Since having the scheduled c section with my last one, I am glad to know exactly what to expect. I think the things I am most "nervous" about are recovery because it is so painful! I am also "concerned/nervous" about my 18 month old. We have been trying to teach her how to be nice to baby dolls but I am worried it wont translate over to baby brother. She kisses my belly all the time and says "brother" while pointing at my stomach but I don't think she really understands that a baby is in there and will be comning out soon. I am also "worried" about handling all 3 or them. My hubby and in laws will be here for 1 week after the birth then I am back to being all alone. FLASHBACK- hubby is only home on the weekends because of work 10 hours away. I am just concerned since I am having a c section, the recovery time and all 3 kids will be overwhelming at first. I predict that by the end of the year we will be settled to a good routine and it will be easy. My 3 1/2 starts Headstart in August 2 days a week/3 hrs a day. So maybe that will give me some kind of a break. I plan to take the other 2 to the park while she is at Headstart so I can walk off some baby fat!
Brazen- as for pain, I am having a spinal block for the c section. With my 1st child, I got an epidural. I got so numb I wasn't feeling my contractions. So they would cut it off, then I would be in pain. It was terrible. In the end I had an emergency c section for the safety of the baby & was put to sleep.
Hey everyone! Tomorrow I will be 32 weeks! The time has passed so quickly, I can't even believe it. My last check up was this past Tuesday, and once again the doctor told me nothing. I hate the doctors office we're going through! I've been having a ton of lower back pain and my legs and feet are super swollen. Caydence has started to drop already which is freaking me out because im scared I'm going to lose my mucous plug soon since my pelvis is spreading. School got out today so I plan on spending a lot of time relaxing and taking short walks. Around work of course. At the beginning of July my mom's sending me to stay with some family closer to my doctors office since its a 70 mile drive from my house. So I imagine I'm going to be pretty lonely. The finace is going to be working with his dad all summer before school starts back up so I don't think I'm going to be seeing much of him=[ Other than that thing's are going well. I have a baby shower this weekend which I'm hoping I get more of the bigger stuff. We still don't have a stroller, carseat, or crib=S But yes, hopefully my baby girl will stay in there for a while so she can be healthy and strong. I just really don't want to stand all day at work (I'm a cashier) and have gravity push her down even more!! I hope everyone's doing well!
Super excited! I am 36 weeks as of today!!! As much as I want her to stay in until July **too many June babies in the family!** I am SOOOOO ready for her to come out! I've had A LOT of pressure the past few days and braxton hicks are getting more frequent. The boyfriend and I both have a pretty strong feeling she'll be making her arrival soon.
Got most of her room set up...but its still not completely done. If she does come early though, she will be able to sleep in it.
Sorry its so short. Will write more soon. Just wanted to update everyone ;)
Just thought I would check in. Anyone else TIRED of being pregnant? I sure am. I will be 33 weeks this Friday. He has dropped alot already. My back hurts, can't sleep and my breast are starting to leak! It just a grand party here- LOL. No Braxton Hicks yet but I am feeling him getting ready. Go back to the Dr next Wednesday. Gotta go- my 3 1/2 yr old is callin me.
ProudMaMa&Wife
Brazen- I plan to go all natural. With my first I had an epidural! I do understand things don't always go as planned so if I end up getting one I won't beat myself up over it! I don't know anything about the spinal block, but plan to look into it now. You will figure it out...especially when contractions start hitting high numbers on the charts lol.
Dj- Hopefully your 18 month old does perfect with the new baby and glad you aren't nervous about the c-section. And tired of being pregnant...YES!!!! I'm so tired of being pregnant that's all I think about. It wouldn't be so bad if everything that has happened wouldn't of...then yesterday I went to the doctor and my cervix are dilated between 1-2 and then all day afterwards I had a bloody show. (More than I would call spotting which I know is normal after being examined!) So, yes I'm tired of being pregnant. I hope she stays in there at least 2 1/2 more weeks because I will feel more comfortable at 38 weeks, but I hope those fly by!
Kelsey- You are really worried! You scared me reading that post! Haha...It's totally normal. Not only with your first child, but when your young. I've been there...done that. I'm sure everything will be fine...and don't stress about the mucous plug...with my first one I never lost it until sometime in labor I'm assuming because I never even saw it. Gravity can only do so much...she will drop whether you are standing a lot or not. Just take a deep breath and know it will all be okay...If you've done fine up to this point I'm sure the rest will go just as smoothly!
LS- I so agree about the staying in but ready for her to come out! I'm with you on that one 100%! (Just as I said in my post to Dj)
Well, I'm off to work here soon. I don't remember if I mentioned it, but I just started a new job last week...I know not a good time to do so. This week I'm working a full 40 hours. I plan on working up until I have her. People are telling me I need to slow down and blah blah...but then I will sit at home and want her out even more when I have all day to think about it. The only thing I don't like is this week my shifts are crap and I am not getting much time with my son. That's something I really wanted before the baby came. But this weekend we are going on a mini trip (praying I don't go into labor while we are gone!) Anyway, that will give us some quality time before baby comes. I just don't want him to feel pushed out of the way...he has been the baby for 5 years now with mommy and daddy & mamaw and papaw. I think he is going to take it okay though, but don't believe he will have much to do with her!
Well ladies gotta go! Talk to you later!
Well since I'm still on monthly visits I don't go to the doctor until next Thursday (which puts me at 34 weeks). I think he screwed up the timeline for my visits since I'll go on the 17th, then again on the 1st (which is two weeks later) and then go every week after that. So much for going every two weeks when you only go once! I'm hoping the visits start to resemble something more of an actual visit, all I've done is had the nurse to heartbeat, he comes in reviews chart and then I'm setting up an appointment for the next month. He has yet to even touch my tummy or anything (other than grab my ankles and wrists looking for swelling that doesn't exsist).
I've had a pretty hard week. I'm here by myself for 2 weeks (boys are with their grandma, husband is on A.T. is South Dakota). Braxton Hicks are happening sometimes 3 to 4 times a day and actually hurt at times. I know they are Braxton since they start in the front and wrap around and not the other way. My hips are doing horrible. I had extremely sharp pain running down my right leg from my hip the other night and every time I moved it felt like the whole leg was ready to snap off. Then sometime after I went to bed the left one started doing it as well. I'm thinking maybe they are starting to seperate...? I have no clue.
Baby has had a week of little movement. She moves once in a great while but nothing like she did the week before (she was rolling and kicking and punching and elbowing). This week there is a shaking feeling in there, a slight kick or a little elbow rubbing but not much other than that. Maybe she's feeling the way I'm feeling and is just too dang tired to do anything! haha
I'm having a baby shower on the 20th (yeah father's day...I realized that after everything was sent out) so I'm looking forward to getting stuff! (though I'm a little ticked off that the things I REALLY want from babiesrus are now currently unavailable. What freaking timing!)
Brazen- my little one is getting lazy too. I figure that he is either running out of room or he is just sleeping ALOT! Either way its okay. It is nice to not have my stomach jumping ALL DAY LONG!
Not to start debates but just curious. Figure since we are all getting to the end and we know about each others pregnancies, we could get to know everyone after pregnancy (now):
1: Bottle formula or breast? For me, it is bottle. Tried breast with 1st two and was unsuccesful. Plus, for me it just doesn't tickle me I guess.
2: Co sleep or not? For me, hmmm. Well, only because of the c section he will be in my room for a FEW weeks. I have a bassinet plus a "co sleeper" bed type thing that can go in my bed. But once I can lift better- he is out of my room and in his own.
3: Pacifier or not? For me, no. One less thing to break him from later. LOL.
4: Cloth diapers or disposable? For me, I am all about disposable!!! Even now, well a year ago, while potty training my oldest, I threw away panties if she pooped in them!
Hmmmm. Can't think of any other questions right now. You don't have to reply if you don't want. I just thought it would be fun. NO BASHING ALLOWED!! NOt that I think any of us are like that.
Yes ladies I have to agree...she is getting pretty lazy in there to. Or like Dj said could just be out of room. 4 weeks and 1 day to go! Don't see it lasting that long though.
Dj the answers to your questions:
1. I plan to breast feed. With my first I went straight to the bottle and never even attempted breastfeeding. Hopefully it works out! I understand where you would have tired breast haha.
2. I plan on co-sleeping as far as in the same room. I don't plan on her sleeping directly in bed with me. It makes me nervous when they are that little (unless of course I had one of the co-sleepers for my bed.) I have a bassinet for my room for the first little bit and then I'm sure she will move to her own room. Maybe...I'm so nervous for her to be in her own room until she is like 1! LoL
3. If she likes a pacifier than yes I will. Especially since I'm breastfeeding! I don't want her wanting to suck on something constantly and it having to be my breast. I don't mind when it's time to eat...but not 24 hours a day! Haha
4. I'm totally with you on the disposable! I'm not about to do the cloth thing! If it was just pee that would be fine but I can't be dealing with cleaning poop up all day! That's just above and beyond what I want to do! I also threw underwear away if my son went in them when he was younger!
1. I plan on breastfeeding as much as I can (though I'm supposed to be back at work at the end of August). For me it's really important she gets all those goodies that are in breastmilk. When it gets close to me going back to work I'll still breastfeed but also fiill in with formula, because lets face it, my boobs can't be everywhere she goes when I have a full time job! I'm hoping to at least get one solid month of breastfeeding in though!
2. I spent that much money on a crib she's going to start her life out in one. My husband is a big man (6'2" and 290lbs) and I'm not tiny myself....so the bed is full for a sleeper already. I don't have a bassinet and not really interested in having one. I'm not a big sleeper as it is, I nap at night, so having to get up and change rooms throughout the night isn't that big of a deal to me.
3. I'd rather NOT do a pacifier if I can at all help it. I really don't like it when babies constantly have a plug in their mouth and then it is pretty hard to break them from it. IF she were to have a pacifier it would be stricktly at night when she's sleeping...but I'm not even going to give them to her when she gets here.
4. Disposable all the way. I don't have time to clean cloth diapers all day. Though I am going to have some cloth diapers but we call those "Raggies" and they are used as burping rags/light blankets. (I actually had a "Raggie" for a really LONG time that I used to sleep with when I was a kid).
I WISH she was a lazy baby! She is constantly moving around in there. I have a feeling she's going to be as active as her big brother! **I'm sure him ALWAYS talking to/patting/poking my belly doesn't really help...but he already loves his baby sister :)**
I am SOOOO ready to NOT be pregnant. I will be 37 weeks on Saturday. My hips feel like they are about to pop out every time I move! The WORST heartburn! Pressure in my pelvic area. I'm just ready for it to be over and ready for her to be here!
I know someone asked about pain management...and, I can pretty much guarantee I'll have an epidural. I know it kinda sounds bad that I'm not really even going to try going all natural...but, I have a VERY low tolerance for pain. I had an epidural with my son as well. They broke my water, and I think I made it through about 15-20 minutes of contractions and I couldn't take anymore. I just hope that I have a "good" epidural like I did with my son. No pain, but I was still able to move and I was still able to feel the sensation/urge to push.
Answers to the questions:
1. I plan on breastfeeding for as long as I can. I was only able to breastfeed my son for about 2 weeks but wasn't able to produce enough milk. And that was with having a lactation consultant **well...WIC has a program for breastfeeding mothers that is volunteer based with mother's that were successful** Hoping I will be able to, but I'm not against formula if need be.
2. She's sleepin' in her own room! My bed is already taken over by my son! I'm not against co-sleeping, but, I wish we hadn't let our son get in the habit of sleeping with us!
3. I'm kind of in-between on the pacifier. I got lucky with my son, he stopped using one at 4 months old. I think when they are infants, its okay. But, I don't think it should go past 1 year. I can't stand when you have to ask a toddler to take out their binky so you can understand what they are saying!
4. DISPOSABLE! I hate laundry as it is...why add something unnecessary? I like the convenience of wipe, roll up, toss ;)
LS- just 3 more weeks! Wow!!
I am 33 weeks and 2 days along now.
Last night, I was up most of the night with some rough contractions. They started after intercourse with hubby (sorry if TMI) and were irregular all night. When I got up this morning, my belly was still pretty tense. The baby has really moved down. He stays low in general but he really feels like he has dropped. I have felt better throughout the day so I didn't call the doctor. I go back this Wednesday. So just wanted to pop in for a quick update
I am so glad to hear that everybody is doing well! (or only suffering from typically pregnant stuff!)
Here are my answers to the 4 questions.
1. I will be breastfeeding for as long as possible; I am hoping for 9-12 months but won’t beat myself up if its only 5-6. (That is how long I nursed my other 2).
2. I will keep her in a bassinet (it’s been in the family for 4 generation-but is safe!) in my room until she sleeps through the night. Her room is on the second floor and I am not going to want to travel that far in the middle of the night. Also the other 2 kids’ rooms are up there and I don’t want her to wake them at night.
3. Pacifier if she wants it. I don’t want to be used as one and I really don’t want her to suck her thumb or fingers. I can take away or moderate a pacifier but not a thumb. I will limit the passie time to night time when she is bigger (my daughter called it her ni-night since that was the only time she could have it). I agree and hate seeing kids walking and trying to talk with them hanging out of their mouths.
4. Disposable all the way… I only want to deal with a dirty diaper once, change it and throw it away not change it and wash it only to reuse it!
So here is my little update… I am 36 weeks and 3 days. I am dilated to 1! I have an extremely soft and very thin cervix. I am having more and more contractions, last night I was averaging 3 an hour for about 4-5 hours at varying intervals and strengths but just new that I was not in labor. My midwife must have told me at least 10 times that I need to get more sleep and need to have sex, a lot of sex… I think hubby called a head lol! I have a feeling I will be having this baby sooner than later and have a weird feeling about June 21st but I could just be crazy!
My nursery is no where near done yet as my husband has been working 14 hour days 6 days a week. I now have all of the babies clothes washed and ready to go but only they are on my dinning room table instead of her dresser since I can’t get to it. Oh well maybe this week he will get to painting, cleaning the carpets, and staging the furniture so I can put everything away.
I will try to post again soon as I go back to the doctors tomorrow! I hope everybody stays well!
Well I think I'll do a little update now and then probably one again Thursday after my doctor visit (however uneventful that will be).
Not much has changed since last time, except I'm feeling hungry more often (but of course can't eat very much) and extremely thirsty. I've been having this lovely burning sensation in my lower back for a few days now. I'm still having the cramping going on but I always forget to actually time them and count them (though I know they are nothing I should get in that habit!). And my hips still feel like they are about ready to drop off my body, in a very painful way.
The new thing is I'm having some sharp pains running down the side of my belly. Guess I have a lot to share with the doc this time! haha.
Promised my husband that while he was gone for 2 weeks I wouldn't overdo anything but it's harder said than done. I feel like I've overdone when I stand and do dishes for 30 minutes! lol
Still not having much in the way of "baby" dreams...though for about a week I've been dreaming about going to the doctor and him telling me I'm 1cm. Maybe that's just my deep down secret wish? lol
LS- I hear you on the hips! Mine aren't feeling to well either!
Dj- I had that happen a couple of weeks ago! No fun...Makes me skeptical to keep doing so, but remember if I don't do it now it's going to make that 6 weeks seem like forever! Haha!!! Be sure to let us know what the doc says tomorrow!
Ryans- Don't stress about the nursery to much! I just now got mine together and still have a few things to do! I didn't think I was going to ever get it done. Now, I'm waiting on a car seat and hoping I don't need it before I get it. I ordered it awhile ago and then they sent the car seat and stroller separate with the wrong car seat! Made me so angry and even after telling them I could go any day now they wouldn't offer me overnight shipping or anything! Good luck on the nursery...I know how it is to be anxious to get it done and know you can't do everything yourself!
Brazen- The pains could be where the baby is laying or hitting a nerve. I know the feeling of not overdoing things! I have the tendency to do so a lot. With my husband working night shift there are things I need done and can't stand to wait! You can stay at 1 cm forever!!! So, hope for a little farther...but probably should hope for that in a couple of weeks!!! How far along are you?
I just came from the doctor! My blood pressure was up a little, but not to bad. He wanted me to stop working, but I talked him into letting me work through this week. Not much else to report besides...I'M READY FOR THIS TO BE OVER! Haha...guess I'm just to that point. I will be 37 weeks on Friday. Hope all you ladies are doing well!
Went to the dr Monday. I'm already 2 cm dilated and almost completely thinned out!!!! First thing he says to "Oh yeah, head is VERY low" I hope she comes soon! I thought I was going to have to call the other night. My contractions weren't regular, but they were starting in my back, and they were getting pretty intense. But...at about 4 am...they just stopped :( I just hope she comes soon! I'm so over being pregnant!
First let me say EVERYONE had better post their baby announcements HERE when they have the baby (even if the baby comes this month)!! I know it might take some of us a few weeks after the baby comes but I still want to know when everyone has their baby!
Anyway, went to the dr today. I was very disappointed. I told her about the weekend contractions, the dizziness I have been having & how low he is but she just seemed to brush me off. Plus, I told her about the overwhelming exhaustion (thinking it could be my anemia worsening). All she said is the dizziness is probably from the 90 some-odd degree weather, the exhaustion is part of end-pregnancy & 3rd babies are stubborn (as an explanation for the contractions & him getting low). I really thought she would check me at least but she didnt. She just listened to his heart rate, measured me and that was that. With my 1st pregnancy, I went into preterm labor at 33 weeks, was in the hospital for 3 days and then had to take medication daily to ward off a preterm baby. I am 33 weeks and 5 days today. So..... I haven't gained any weight in 4 weeks. I go back in 2 weeks and I will be seeing the other (male) dr who did my 1st two c sections & will be doing this one. They put me on his schedule for July 23rd at 8 am for the c section!!
Hopefully, I will start feeling better. I am overwhelmed trying to get things in order with my little ones in preparation for little Danial. Working on my older one
(3 1/2 yrs old) going to bed on time, learning to wipe her own butt when she poops & getting her ready for headstart. Trying to work with my youngest (1 1/2 yrs old) on biting, cleaning up, naptime (which is almost nonexistant), early bedtime and overall better listening and just general knowledge about a baby coming! Plus, still trying to keep up with my studies for RN school. Will be going out of town next week to stay in a hotel close to my hubby while he is at work. 4 hours away but atleast we will get to see him every night. And they have a pool!
So, thats my life story this week. Wish good things for everyone. NO BABIES TOO EARLY!
Hi ya'll. I haven't checked in a while. Things have been going pretty good so far. Just had my 37 week appointment today. My doc starts checking the cervix at 35 weeks. Since it was so uncomfortable and since I wasn't having any contractions I asked her to skip the 36 week cervix check since it seemed kind of pointless. I'm still not having contractions but I ok'd the cervix check today mainly to check to see if baby is head down. My cervix was so far back that doc said it was hard to tell but that she thinks she felt a head. I might skip the cervix check next week if I'm still not having contractions and doc said she'd do a quick ultrasound to confirm baby's position instead.
That's weird that your doc hasn't checked your cervix since you're having contractions, DJ. Maybe it's because you're not further along though. Although I've been reading that cervix checks can be kind of useless (and can possibly break your water or cause infection) since you can be a few centimeters dilated and not going into labor for weeks.
Sleeping is getting pretty uncomfortable. My hips/legs and arms seem to fall asleep in the middle of the night and my hands will swell up a bit. But during the day everything is fine. I think going to the pool really helps me stay comfortable.
1: I'm hoping to breastfeed. My mom said she wasn't able to breastfeed for too long because she didn't have much supply, but I doubt she had the support system that's available these days. So I'd really like breast feed for at least a year. I've been doing my research on all the things to up supply if necessary.
2: Hubby is against co-sleeping. We'll have the pack n play next to the bed for the first few weeks at night-time. Otherwise she'll be sleeping in the crib.
3: Pacifier... we'll play it by ear. Ideally not, but I'm not opposed to it for the first year.
4: Cloth diapers! I just washed my new stash two days ago. Hubby is against using them so we'll probably end up using both. But I like the idea. We have 2 washers and driers so an extra load shouldn't be a big deal. I'm also going to try to do some infant potty training aka elimination communication so that she'll be mostly potty trained by the end of the first year, like me and my brother were.
Also, DJ, has your doc checked your anemia levels lately? When I was checked a couple of months ago, they said I was really low and that I'd need IV infusions if my levels didn't go up. I admitted I was slacking on taking my Slow FE. I began taking my iron more religiously 2x/day, in addition to the prenatal, and my last blood check 2 weeks ago showed my that my iron was back into normal range. They still wanted me to continue the iron though.
Kind of weird that you haven't gained any weight in a month. I've been gaining a pound or two a week the last few weeks. I'm up 40 lbs and doc seems to think everything is going well. I have quite the appetite. Especially in the morning. I feel like I can eat and never get full ><
DJ, your Doc must have gone to the same school my friend's did!! I had my son with me for my appointment on Monday, so he did ask if I wanted to be checked...didn't know if I would be uncomfortable with him being there. But, with you having already had one case of preterm labor, you would think it would be a PRIORITY to check you! Between reading about your Doc and talking with my friend about this issues she's having with her OB, I'm so thankful that I go to an OB office like mine! I hope your next appointment isn't so disappointing!
Well...the wait is still on! I will be 38 weeks on Saturday :) I can't wait to get this kid outta me! The pressure on my pelvis gets worse every day! It actually hurts to roll over in bed. BUT...if she's anything like her Momma...then she's pretty stubborn ;)
Hope everyone is doing well! We're almost there ladies! Hope everyone isn't too miserable ;)
Had my 34 week appointment today. My appointment was at 9:30 and I got squeezed in a little early since no one else was there. Needless to say we were standing outside of the hospital at 9:34.
Typical visit for me. Nurse comes in to do heartbeat (which was 138). I actually lost weight in the last month since I've been there (which brings my total weight gain thus far to like 7lbs). Doctor came in and went over my chart and said everything looked fine. Asked how my arm (from the abscess) was doing so I showed him. He asked about swelling and grabbed my ankles (like every time) and since there is no swelling it's uneventful.
That's basically the jist of my visit for today. I don't get measured or anything...In fact haven't even had that done so.. yeah.
I go back on the 1st (which will put me right at 36 weeks). He said when I come in next he'll do the Strep B swabs (funfun) and do an actual cervix check to see where I'm at and how low she really is (though I can tell him EXACTLY where she's at..any lower and she'd be falling out).
Then it's every week after that. Final countdown in weeks is making me kind of nervous. So not ready for this to be over with yet.
LS- I’m with you in being so happy with my Dr. office! I go to a midwives group and have to make sure I schedule my day around a very long appointment (and not due to waiting). I feel like I am visiting a friend than a patient… until we get to the exam part.
I am 37 weeks today and go back to the Dr on Tuesday. She said she would check my cervix again to see how I’m progressing, that is if I don’t have the baby before then! I love how my midwives are handling everything, they are very interested in my concerns and very calm about answering them. My husband asked how he would know when to take me to the hospital and she said that he would know, and just to look at me and how I’m acting. One thing that is a bit unsettling to me is that I still don’t know what hospital I’m going to… I live between 2 hospitals that I can go to and each have their own set of pros and cons, I guess I will just call when I go into labor and see if the dr. is already at a hospital and I will just go there! I have preregistered at both just in case.
I am having problems sleeping most nights but then after a few sleepless nights I just seem to crash, then I feel great for a day or two and the cycle continues. Yesterday morning I woke up with a terrible back ache and dreams of being told I was in labor? Anybody else having weird dreams?
Other than that I’m just playing the waiting game!
Hope everybody stays well!
I am 34 weeks today! The time continues to fly by, I can't even believe Caydence will be here in a little over a month! Thing's have been about the same for me, I went to the doctor yesterday and the only thing they did differently was check my iron level and check for dialation since she has dropped so much and I continue to have the Braxton Hicks contractions. I wasn't dialating, so that's good. I need to work as many hours as I can this month since I'm taking all of July off and most of August. I had a different doctor than I usually do yesterday and she seemed alot more helpful and friendly, which I liked. It's pretty scary being young and pregnant and your doctor doesn't tell you anything! They're going to continue to check for dialation and I have to start counting my Braxton Hicks to make sure that they stay fake. The doctor was surprised at how far I had dropped but she said it should make my labor quicker and easier...which I'm not so sure about that! I plan on breastfeeding for a while, I'm not starting school back up until October, so that will give me a little more time with her. I'm graduating in January than I will stay with her during the day and work at night. The time's moving so fast and I feel so unprepared! I also found out that one of my friend's is pregnant and due October 12th with a boy!! She's naming him Kayden so I'm thinking Caydence and Kayden could possibly be best friends=] I will keep everyone updated on what's going on, everyone at work thinks I won't last until July 14th, so we will have to see!
ELENASH- my last labs were 5 weeks ago and I have really been consistant w/ my iron since but with all my pregnancies I have had problems w/ anemia. She said they will check it in 2 weeks when I go again.
KELSEY- I love that picture!!!
I will be out of town for the next week so if I don't get on while I am gone- everyone stay safe!
Hey ladies...very tired so I'm just going to let everyone know what has happened for the week and then head off to bed. I always try to respond to everyone's post, but I'm just to sleepy tonight...did read everything though.
I'm 37 weeks today and I'm soooooooo ready! I know I've said that a million times...but nothing has changed lol. I went to the doctor on Tuesday...said everything looked good. Was back in there on Wednesday because I was having some pain (not really like contraction pain though) and severe swelling. Ended up I had a bladder infection...so now I'm on antibiotics which I don't like AT ALL! I hate taking anything while I'm preg! They said I didn't have to, but preferred I quit working...so I did. Been enjoying time with my 5 year old. Can't wait to meet her...
Hope all is well with everyone...and DJ have a safe trip!
Well hello again ladies I cannot believe its been so long since I've posted anything it looks like the last thing i posted was back in the begining of feb. I've had an extremely rough and long couple months... I finally had my surgery on monday june 14th and it didnt go very well.. they did sucessfully remove my cerclage but I had an extreme amount of pain and bleeding afterwards I seem to be doing better now but its been a stressful week.. I also had my amnio done yesterday friday the 18th and I got my results back late afternoon that my babys lungs are fully developed and they have my appointment scheduled for induction on monday june 21st at 8am ( I guess this means I wont be a july mommy :( but it seems to be out of my control due to my health problems)... So now the nerves have really set in. I am defianly NOT ready for this at all!! I LOVE being pregnant and I'm dreading monday!! I am currently 37 weeks as of yesterday and I will be 37 weeks at the time of delivery which I hear is full term but Im still pretty freaked out. I am already dialated to 4cm but have not started to feel any contractions yet..
On to a better note...... I did get a chance to do a belly cast which I posted pics of it unpainted I cannot belive how big it looks in my pictures.. And I also was able to get some professional pregnancy pictures done as well which I posted so everyone can see how big I've gotten.. I guess I wont be getting much bigger now..
Well I'm off to bed but I am really hoping for some encouragement from you ladies that have been threw the labor experience before and if any of you have been induced I'm curious to know what thats going to be like as well... So Any advice?? and What did you ladies do to help you get threw the rougher and scarier parts of labor?? I've been threw lamaze also recently but now that its only a few days away my head is spinning so fast that I cant seem to grasp what Im going to do to cope with this adventure lol Thank you all so much for your help and I will defiantly update when I have this little guy with some baby info and more pics.. Hopefully it will be before monday this whole induction thing has me worried Im gonna end up with a c section which I heard is extremely painful and longer recovery time...
Wish me luck and I look forward to getting some advice :)
