My 15 month old son has a flat spot on the back of his head. He does not always sleep on his back at night. I am not sure if I should be concerned or if there is anything that I may be able to do?

It's totally normal. :) If it doesn't pop out by age 2, maybe you can be concerned. You can always run it by your pediatrician--if it's serious, he'll probably suggest a sleeping helmet.

Thanks! I am a first time parent and was not sure if I should have been concerned with it. When he was younger he had a soft spot on the side of his head and that is when they told me to make sure he slept on the back of the head and not he got one on the back. But I did not know that it could take until the age of two for it to correct itself.

Some children need a helmet , my granddaughter used one for about 10 months , shes 9 now with a perfectly round head . more than likely its from the chair he rests in and the "back to sleep" "theory"
BTW ladies that "babies soft spot" doesn't finish closing until we are around 35 years of age :-)
