This is so hard! I totally thought I was having a girl, had Emma Jane picked out, ready to go. So last week, when we found out it was a boy, completely threw us off, lol. We are happy about having a boy, we just can't agree on a lot of names, so my goal is to make a list of names I like and have him check off the ones he doesn't. He likes the name Nickolai, if that is even how you would spell it, I don't, mainly because my cousin's name is Nicholas. The only two names we both like so far are

Jacob and Liam

I just want to expand that list :) Any suggestions would be so wonderful and greatly appreciated!!

I am due 2/22/2010. Anyone else around there?

I don't really want a popular name, like I love the name Aiden, but seriously, so many people have used that name and I just don't want my son to be 1 of 8 Aidens in his classroom! Love the name though.

I like simple names. Something unique but not eccentric.
Some other names I like, that my boyfriend doesn't like are:

Maxton (Max)
Miles
Gauge
Damon
Adrien
Elliot
Mason
Sawyer

Also, we were hoping to use our grandfathers names as middle names. Guess I should have said that in the original post!!

so it would be ??? Samuel-Ray with or without the hyphen!

I just wish he would like the names I like. This would be so much easier!!!! LOL.

We have the Aidan problem too. Boy names are really hard. We've been back and forth for a couple months now. At the rate we're going maybe we'll just call him "Lil' Dude" and wait until he's old enough to pick out his own name :-)

Good luck.

Besides variations on Aidan (Aedyn, Aydin) which we both love our short list has Kiran and Ian on it.

My friend named his son Declan which I like but using that would be awkward.

On another forum as a joke someone suggested that I use the font list in MS Word. Actually I did come across "Tahoma" that way which isn't really bad.

The best suggestion I can give is to go to a bookstore and find a baby name book. Then go through it marking the names and pages that you like. That's what I did with my DS and we found what we believe is the perfect name. Good luck!
