Just thought I would see if anyone else was out there... I have gotten a BFP (okay so maybe 4 bfps) and looks like it'll be around 6/9/2010. Just hoping for health :-) I am feeling exhausted and eating it a little bit funny though everything I read says that this should happen around six weeks. I am thinking maybe pregnancy got to my head ;-) Wishing health and happiness to all!

I got mine yesterday. I don't have a solid due date yet but am looking to have a new kiddo in the house around Father's Day. Hubs and I are super excited and can't wait to tell everyone. Congratulations to all the mommy-to-be's in June. Can't wait to chat with you all.

Thanks ladies! I have been following both of you on the April boards. I am so excited that we will finally be giving Tiarnan a little brother (or sister but I am hoping brother). Ruth, I hope you are feeling better. I tried to send you a PM after your hospital scare, I am sure that had to be very scary for you.

I am hoping that this pregnancy is as easy as my last one and I am also hoping to see some more ladies join the June board. I really hope I don't end up talking to myself the whole 9 months.

LM-- the 6 week mark for symptoms to set in is just an average. Every PG is different and unique to the person. Don't worry about the symptoms that you already have, just be glad that they are easy ones. With my first I kept waiting for symptoms to show up and with this one my breasts are already a bit on the sore side. Not super can't touch them sore but uncomfortable to lay on sore. I am looking forward to getting to know you better. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Hey ladies...I know many of you do not know me because I have not posted much. My husband and I have had 3 BFP's in the last few days and I went to the doctors today to have blood work done. I should get the results tomorrow, but with all the BFP's I am pretty sure it is 100%. Looking forward to everyone else getting there BFP's and sharing in the journey. Good luck to everyone!

Samkat, CONGRATULATIONS! I am so excited for you and your hubs. Sounds as though you and I may be due around the same time. I don't think you have anything to worry about, 3 BFPs are generally a sure thing. Have you set up your first appointment yet? I do remember you from the TTC board, if I remember correctly you were only there for a short time. Again, congrats!

My first appointment is set up for the 3rd of November. I should be able to hear the heartbeat at that time, I am looking forward to that. We started telling family and close friends, haven't decided when to tell work but I have time. I don't remember being this tired with my first and I have been feeling a bit nausous but not too much. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is an easy PG.

Thanks Hardworkinmama. I got the blood test back today and it was positive!! My first appointment is for Nov. 5th and then I have one on the 19th for the pap and sonogram I believe. You are correct, it sounds like we will be right around the same time ( : This is my first pregnancy and I can understand where you are coming from with the tiredness. I keep falling asleep at work! Other that, no symptoms to bad so I am hoping for an easy PG as well. Keep me posted with your situation and I will do the same!

The gas, the gas, the gas. I can't wait until the 1st trimester is over and I can stop cramping and passing gas. Thankfully they aren't super smelly yet I can still pass them off without anyone noticing. I am also starting to feel some round ligament pain, which I only know because last time it freaked me out. I wasn't expecting that so soon but they do say you show sooner with subsequent PGs. The soreness in my BBs fades in and out so I suppose that's good, I mean, they could hurt all the time. Nothing else new here, just trying to keep from blurting out to anyone and everyone that I am PG. Hoping to keep quiet at work until after 1st appt on 3rd Nov.

Samkat-- how you feeling? Hope things are still relatively easy for you.

LM-- are you still around????

Hardworkin, we must be twins or something ( : I am experience so much bloating with gas after each decent size meal. It is TERRIBLE! Although, I rather gas then nausea. Also, I sneezed last night and felt a pain in my lower abdomen so I rushed onto the computer to learn I was experiencing round ligament pain so I was relieved to find out that was normal. The soreness is terrible as well as they keep growing!! This morning I was eating a bagel and had to throw half of it out as I become so disgusted eating it. That was my first experience with nausea since I found out.

Other then that...all is well. I am getting more and more excited and can't wait to go to the doctors on the 5th of Nov and then the 19th for the sonogram. We have told most of the family as we are just too excited to hold it in, plus I am an easy person to read ( :

Glad to have everyone on here to bounce ideas and symptoms off of ( : Hope everyone has a wonderful night!

sam-- I hear ya on the gas, only for me it's all. the. time! I wish it was only after I ate. I haven't had any food aversions but everything sounds good. Last night I saw a commercial for fried chicken and immediately wanted some. However we were a bit busy at work and I couldn't leave right then. By the time I was able to leave to get something to eat it was after midnight and no KFC was closed. :( My round ligament pain is at the top of the abdomen, right underneath the boobs. And it's more of a dull ache and the skin right across there goes numb rather than a sharp, stabbing pain. I hope for your sake the nausea stays like that and doesn't turn into full on throw up morning sickness.

I think we might be the only ones on here for a while. No one else seems to be due in June, at least on this website. Like I told LM (who has yet to come back on and say hello) if you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask. Nothing is too far out there for me, I will answer everything to the best of my ability. Hope you have a great day and weekend!

Thanks for the reply. I agree, I hope everything stays as it is and the nausea does not get worse. But , whatever it brings I will be as ready as possible ( :

Hopefully some others will join us in the June 2010 and get some BFP's of their own. Either way, I am glad to have you as a resource ( : Enjoy your weekend as well!

Hey sam! Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, my off days keep me pretty busy running after Tiarnan and doing housework. Hope you are feeling well. I have been on and off tired, just trying to lay down when I can. I would take naps with Tiarnan but he has decided the last 2 days not to take a nap. I haven't had any crazy cravings yet, but my sweet tooth is getting the better of me. I made some peanut butter bars that are topped with chocolate, they turned out really good and I ate 1/4 of the pan last night. I've also had a little bit of cramping but it's not accompianied by any bleeding so it's more annoying than anything,

So how have you been feeling? Anything unusual going on with you, crazy cravings or the like. I hope things are going well and you are staying relaxed. Chat with you soon!

Hey mama! It is cool, I have been very busy as well at work. I am glad to hear you are doing well and feeling well. I have been pretty good too. I do get crazy waves of tiredness come over me at work, which stinks. BUT, I will take that over morning sickness which I have been lucky enough so far not to have to deal with. My chest seems to be getting more sore each day, but the gas has gone away as well. I guess with each symptom leaving a new one comes ( : Thankfully, nothing to complain about...just very excited, still can't believe it. I think it will hit me when I start showing.

I did go last Saturday and get my seasonal flu shot for the first time in my life as my ob/gyn suggested I do so. They said upon my visit on the 5th of November they would discuss the swine flu shot with me, although I still don't know how I feel about that yet.

Are you less nervous with this pregnancy since it is your second? I feel like with every little feeling I jump on google to make sure it is "normal". I just wonder if that is a first time Mommy thing, or if it continues with future pregnancies.

Well, I am off to relax...thankfully I have off tomorrow so I can catch up on some much needed sleep ( : Have a great night and I will chat with you soon!

sam-- I wasn't very nervous with my first and I am not all that nervous with this one either. I guess I just don't worry about it too much, I just go with the flow and try not to worry, otherwise it will drive you insane. I went to the mall today and when I walked into the food court the plethora of smells about knocked me over. Thankfully the wave of nausousness was short lived. I am at work now, it's been a bit busy and we only have 2 people on so it seems even crazier. The bad part is I have to pee! It's hard to get up to go to the bathroom because the phone won't stop ringing and I know I shouldn't hold it but oh man! Hopefully soon enough it will slow down so I can go potty.

I'm glad your gas is gone, mine is still here. The problem with mine is that they have changed from noisy to smelly. I would rather them be noisy but you live with what you get. Back to work I go. Chat later.

I am glad to hear that you don't worry, I am working on that myself. I can understand how you feel with the nausea as when I woke up I thought for sure I was going to be sick but I quickly ate some crackers and thankfully the feeling subsided. That stinks about your work situation, thankfully I am able to get up and go potty as often as I need which is good considering how much more water I am drinking, I do go often.

I am sorry to hear about the gas still being around. That must be annoying for you. I am trying to talk my manager into letting me have a pillow at my desk for when I need to nap ( : Anyways, it is my day off so I have lots to get done so I will chat with you later. Have a great day!

sam-- My work situation really isn't that bad. I am a police dispatcher and we normally have 4 on for most of my shift and definitely almost always 3. Yesterday though we had 2 people call off so that is why we only had the 2 of us and it was hard to get up. That doesn't happen all that often, but then again you never know when it will be busy in here either.

Good job with the crackers to fight off nausea. My mom said she had to do that with me, she would just set them out before bed and eat some as soon as she woke up but before she got out of bed. I just had that one wave at the food mall and I didn't have any with my first, so I am soooooooooo keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get it with this one either.

I think a big part of the reason that I didn't worry with my first is because of the lack of symptoms. I also feel that is playing a big role this time around as well. My mindset is that what is going to happen will happen and stressing out will only make thinkgs worse. Try to keep in mind that everything will be fine and go about your day, it might help keep the worries at bay.

That is a very nice manager if he/she lets you have a pillow at your desk. Good luck with the convincing. Have a great night and a good day at work tomorrow. Chat with you later.

That must be an interesting job. I do not know if I could handle the crazy calls that I am sure you get so often. I work as an internet sales manager for a local dealership so I have plenty of people around so I am clear to always run to the potty.

I have not discussed the pillow yet ( : But my manager is my father in law so that might help with the situation!!

I am feeling much better today and have not felt sick since my last episode. BUT...I am noticing what I assume to be bloating in my belly. I can not wear certain shirts as they make me look pregnant. I know the baby is still very tiny so I assume it to be just bloating but the weird thing is that it does not come and go, nor does it get worse at night like they say should happen for bloating.

It is making me think maybe I am having twins!! My grandmother was a fraternal twin so we have the possibility of having twins. I am also pretty small to begin with so I assumed I would show earlier BUT not at just past 6 weeks!

It is all so exciting and crazy to see the changes taking place, I guess since it is my first everything seems different and new. Well, off to work for me but I hope you enjoy your day and I will chat with you soon.

Hi ladies. I'm due in June as well. I originally thought I was due at the end of May, and had my first sonogram at what we thought would be 7.5 weeks, but it showed that I must have ovulated late (which is very likely because I ovulate at complete random or not at all) so it's now June. My husband and I were having trouble getting pregnant. I had some surgery to remove a huge cyst, and then a few weeks later, BOOM we were pregnant without even trying. We're lucky that my husband had a birthday, otherwise we wouldn't have done it because I was still not feeling 100% after the surgery. We found out when I had to take a blood pregnancy test before starting Provera to get a period so I could begin clomid and either IUI or IVF because doctors said it wouldn't happen naturally. We showed them! I have my next appt. Nov. 4 and I'm very nervous because I don't have many symptoms, and that makes me think something is wrong. At my first sonogram they saw the heartbeat at 5.5 weeks, but I still can't believe that there can possibly be anything in there. My boobs are crazy veiny and I'm very bloated which makes me look like I have a pregnant belly all the time, when I know it's just bloatedness. I know it sounds crazy, but I wish I felt a little sick for some proof! I don't think I will relax until my next appt. when they can hear the heartbeat. I have no cramping or bleeding, I'm just terrified of having a miscarriage.

Julie--CONGRATULATIONS! That is crazy how it happens when you least expect it, isn't it? Try not to worry too much about not having sickness or other symptoms, consider yourself lucky. I know I did with my first and so far with this one as well. Around 24% of women don't get any morning sickness at all and I am delighted with the fact that I am probably one of them. So, when in June are you due? Both Sam and I are due towards the middle, wouldn't that be exciting if we were all due around the same time. Again, congratulations and welcome to the June boards. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and nothing is TMI when your PG.

Sam-- I do get some really crazy calls but the training is pretty intense before they let you out on your own. Also, I am never working alone so if I don't know how to handle something exactly I can always ask my coworkers. I have noticed bloating too, especially on the bottom part of my belly. With my first I started showing around 8 weeks, I was only 106lbs so it was obvious when my belly started pushing out. If you are still trying to conceal it, I suggest wearing loose fitting tshirts when you can. That would be exciting if you are having twins, I fantasize about having twins sometimes, so if you are I will live vicariously through you.

Not much for me, things aren't smelling very good for me but I am not getting sick. My breasts are starting to get more and more uncomfortable and I think they might even be getting bigger(which the hubs likes). Just a little over a week until my first appointment and I get more excited each day. Well, I should probably get dinner started before I head into work so I will chat with you ladies later.

Julie- CONGRAT'S!!!! I am glad to hear your surgery went well and you were able to get preggo so fast. Sometimes things just happen when you least expect it. I am not having any morning sickness either, just a bit tired and my chest is very swollen and sore so I would not worry much about your symptoms. Like hardworkingmama said, many women do not even feel anything this early.

Mama-I am glad to hear they do training for you guys and you have others around when thinks get difficult...still don't think I would be good for the job because I am too nervous with that kind of stuff ( : I am totally with you with the chest issue, mine keeps getting worse! Not sure how I feel about twins...I guess it would be a double blessing, just makes me worry about how we would handle two newborns at the same time.

As for me, I had a conversation with my boss (also my father in law) and he said I can change my schedule so no more 12 hours day, YIPEE! So now it is just 9 to 5 each day which makes me very happy and will allow me to get more rest and things done around the house. Hubby is happy as well because he believes he will get more home cooked dinners out of the deal ( : Well, it is off to bed for me. I hope you ladies have a wonderful evening and I will chat with you soon!

Hello... I've been lurking on the forums for a while. I just got 2 BFP's this morning. I'm 33 and this is our first. I went off the Nuvaring 7 months ago but we were actively TTC for the last 2 months. Due date calendar says July 5th so technically I shouldn't be in this June forum but I may hang out a bit until July gets more active if you guys don't mind :D

My boobs usually get sore and swollen a couple weeks before AF, but this time they didn't get swollen until about a week later and they weren't sore as much but they felt like they were on FIIIRE. DH kept thinking I had a fever but I felt fine despite feeling like my chest and torso were burning. The left side of my lower back kind of was hurting this morning, but other than those two things, nothing too unusual. Well... maybe I am a little moodier, I got really mad at DH for not making dinner for me 2 days ago since he was home all day and I got home late. I felt like I was starving to death and I needed food like right now!

Elenash,

Congrat's!!!! You must be so excited. I am glad the process was short for you and you are feeling well. I am totally cool with having more people on the June board...even though you are July ( : Just more people to talk to.

I myself am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant according to online calenders and have my first appointment on Nov.5th. Been feeling well lately so no complaints. Look forward to chatting with you soon.

Thank you :) My cycles are kind of long and irregular (32-37 days) so I didn't think it would happen so fast. I just got my first ultrasound scheduled for Nov 20th. It will be hard to not share the news with family during Thanksgiving.

JulieBean767

Thanks for the congrats, and congrats to you elenash. I have irregular cycles too and thought that I was 7.5 weeks at my first appt. but because I have long cycles I was actually only 6. So don't be too surprised or nervous if you end up measuring smaller than you would have thought counting back to your last period. According to my first u/s I'm due early June. So I'm 8 weeks now, but I'd be almost 10 according to my last period. I still think I'm a little ahead of 8 because I feel like I'm starting to show, but we will see what I am measuring next week when it's more accurate. This waiting part is so hard! I just want to know that everything is ok. My friends just announced that they were pregnant, right about the exact same amount of weeks as we are, and they found out just 2 days later that they were miscarrying. I've definitely had no negative symptoms, so that is reassuring. I also just have a feeling now that everything is going to be ok, but you never know. I had no idea I would be this nervous and anxious! I'm an elementary school teacher so I feel like my poor kids are getting the short end of the stick because I'm more irritable :)

elenash-- CONGRATULATIONS! July 5th is a great day, one of my nieces was born July 5, 2007. Plus you still get a holiday baby without all the fuss of Christmas or Thanksgiving. You can chat with us for as long as you need/want to and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

sam-- glad your feeling well. Just over a week until that first appointment. It can't seem to go fast enough, can it? Can't wait to hear how it goes.

Julie-- I am sorry for the loss that your friends had to go through, but remember that all PGs are different and I am sure that you will carry to term with a happy and healthy baby. So when is your due date? June 3rd, 4th, and 9th are all good dates! ( I know someone born on each of those dates) How are you feeling? If you aren't getting any symptoms, don't worry and consider yourself lucky. I had no symptoms with my first and absolutely loved being PG.

As for me, not much new. I have discovered that if DH is smoking then I can't be around him as the smell makes my stomach do flip flops. My BBs are getting more and more sore by the day but they haven't gotten bigger yet. I have times where I can't get my jeans buttoned so I have to go around with them undone but zipped up. Luckily I have lots of long t-shirts!:p One more week until my first appointment on 03 Nov and time has slowed down. I have started telling more people at work after a meltdown Saturday night. My co-workers and I were all teasing each other and I don't even remember what was said, but I got upset. I started crying and walked out of the room to gather myself. In my job that is not an okay thing, too many people depend on us. When I came back into the room I told them that I was PG and they were very understanding. I also apologized for just walking out, luckily there weren't upset with me. Time to go, gotta figure out dinner and then watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I love that show.:D Chat later!

I don't have an official due date yet. According to my last period it's May 26, but since I was measuring behind at my first u/s and have crazy periods, all I know right now is that it's sometime early June. I will find out my due date at my appt. next Wed. I've always been convinced that I would have a boy first, pretty much my whole life, but for some reason ever since I found out I've been having dreams that it is a girl. I would be equally happy with either. I just can't imagine it possible for another little girl to be born on my side of the family! We haven't had a boy in over 35 years. Every time someone is pregnant we think it MUST be a boy. Hardworkin, did you have a gut feeling that your first was a boy?

Also, I know this could get into a debate, but are you all planning on getting the H1N1 shot? I'm pretty reluctant to get it because of the mercury, and because my mom had a bad reaction to her one and only flu shot and has a disease called dystonia from it. I'm afraid since I have her genes that I could be one of the very few who is affected by that. So I've never gotten the flu shot. If I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't even think about it, but all those reports of pregnant women dying is pretty scary.

samkat22
10-28-2009, 08:38 PM
Hardworkin-I am sorry to hear about the situation at work, but I am glad you are okay and they were understanding.

Julie- I understand where you are coming from, with all the news and mixed ideas out there it is confusing. I personally am not 100% if I am going to get it or not. I did however get the season flu shot for the first time ever about 2 weeks ago, and thankfully have had no issues with it. I think everyone just needs to try and gather all the facts possible and then make a decision. I for one, take a look at the numbers: 300 million population in US, 1000 have died from the swine flu and 100 of them being pregnant women. Again, it is all your decision and I am just sharing what I look at. I am concerned either way and see the good and bad of both getting the shot and not getting the shot. My husband is very much against the shot and thinks I should not get it. BUT everyone has their opinions, and when it comes down to it, the decision must be yours. I try not to worry too much because it won't help anything, but I hope you make the best decision for you and your family.

As for me, I went out today and purchased a belly band to help with the issue that I can not button certain pants! All is well though, still a bit tired during the day and sick to my stomach but not too bad. Hope everyone has a nice evening!

Julie-- I did have the gut feeling with my first that it would be a boy. The thought of it being a girl never crossed my mind, and it's kinda that way with this one. I am 95% positive that this one is a boy so we will see. I am not getting the swine flu shot due to having a good immune system to begin with. Also, the people who are dying generally have some underlying pre-existing conditions that are making them susceptible(sp?) to the virus. It is no more dangerous than the normal flu and as long as you get treatment then you should be fine. I have known people who have recently had the swine flu and they were fine within the week. However, like sam said, it is a personnal decision. Hope your appointment goes well next week.

Sam-- I have been debating going out and getting the belly band as well! I can't button my jeans and my work clothes are getting close! I feel you on the tiredness too, I am just hoping that it passes soon! I only have 5 more weeks in the first trimester and they can't go by fast enough! Glad you were able to work something out with your boss (father-in-law) to make work a bit easier for you. Those 12 hour days do suck, I worked them with my first up until month 8 when I got a note from my doc to go to 40 hour work weeks. Ahhh the life of working in restaurant management. Glad you boss is being so understanding.

As for me, not much new. Surprise, surprise. Just super tired today but I was able to get in a 4 hour nap before work so I hope I make it to 6am. Chat later ladies!

Positive pregnancy test last night! If I go by beginning of last period, my due date will by June 23rd, but I think I was late ovulating as I've been taking tests nearly everyday for 2 weeks when my period was due :)

Mixed feelings about this as we have a 4 mo, 3week old at home now. Excited but a little overwhelmed. We weren't trying, but weren't preventing. We do want another one and had the "wait and see" attitude, but didn't expect it to happen so fast. But that's what happened with the first one too...Seems like we were pregnant within 5 minutes of me stopping the pill.

Since we have a girl now, I'd like a boy. DH wants another girl 'cuz he loves his little daddy's girl now and thinks she is so much fun.

Not many symptoms for me yet except a disconnect from my brain to my mouth. I seem to feel very uninhibited about sharing my thoughts and opinions. It's already skated me a little close to trouble, so I need to get a handle on that soon. I'm normally a very tactful person but suddenly I just want to put it all out there...DH thinks it's hillarious but he hasn't been the recipient yet :)

Not sharing yet with family or friends. First Dr appointment Nov 17th and should get the official due date then. We'll probably share with family at Thanskgiving and I'll probably tell work around Christmas.

Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!

CONGRATULATIONS! You are in for a bumpy ride with the 2 LOs so close in age but I am sure that you and your hubs can handle it. So are you around 6 weeks along? Sam and I are both around 7 weeks and Julie I believe is closer to 9. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I have my fingers crossed that you get the boy you want.

As for me I think that nausea is starting to hit. I spent the better part of 3 hours last night at work trying not to throw up and I am starting to fend it off now. I hope this only lasts a short while and passes quickly. I am also starting to have issues with sleeping and it only seems to be on the days that I work. I sleep fine on my days off but I can ony seem to sleep for like 5 hours at a time on the days that I work. It sucks! Oh well, I switch to a daytime shift in 3 weeks so hopefully that will help.

Welcome and congrats Karebear and Erinmerchant! I am glad to see more ladies getting BFP's and joining the June board.

Hardworkinmama- Sorry to hear about the sleep issues, I find I have the opposite problem. When I actually have off and can sleep in, I wake myself up at the same time I would have to go to work.

As for me, the tiredness seems to be a bit better, but the upset stomach is not too nice right now. No getting sick yet thankfully, but unfortunately every time I think I am in the mood for something I get sick of it rather quickly. 1 week from today is my first appointment so I am getting very excited then I go again on the 19th to hear the heart beat and have our first ultra sound. Well, I hope all is well for everyone and will chat with you soon.

Those of you who have been pregnant before....I know everyone is different, but when did you start really showing and needing maternity clothes. I have a feeling I'm going to be showing earlier than a lot of my friends. I am somewhere around 9 weeks and already am using the belly band with jeans and any other tight pants like that. My work pants are loose enough that I don't need to yet, but it seems so early!

CONGRATULATIONS erin! That is exciting news. I also have my second bun in the oven.

sam- sorry you can't seem to sleep in on days off, that stinks. I am also sorry to hear that you are having stomach issues too. It certainly is no fun but I am thinking it is definitely better than actually vomitting. I hope it passes soon for both of us.

Julie- I started showing around 8 weeks with my first, was super skinny to begin with. I didn't start with the maternity clothes until closer to 16 weeks or so. I mainly went around with my pants unbuttoned. I have heard of people using a hair-tie looped through the button hole and then around the button to keep thier pants up. I wouldn't worry too much about showing so soon, as long as the weight gain is healthy and the baby is healthy everything will work out fine.

thanks all for the wonderful welcome!

Julie- I dont remember with my first, but this time around I'm not even 8 weeks yet and my pants are already getting tight. I'll probably get a belly band this weekend since i dont want to start wearing maternity pants already.

Hello everyone =) New to the site. Thought I would try someplace a little more personal. This seems like it =P I found out October 14th that I am due with my 4th child (5th pregnancy, m/c twins 7/04). This is our first "unplanned" pregnancy and it so happens I am 40 as well. Hubby and I thought we were pretty much done with having kiddos, but this is a gift! We have 3 girls 13, 10, and 4. All nice and spaced out. Read thru most of the posts and can definitely feel for the mamas with some uncomfortableness. Especially the gas! Can't wait for that one to go away...or at least lessen. Not too much nausea going on here. certain foods can hit me hard and make my stomach roll, but not too many. I don't think I will have to worry about starving to death--HAHA. Well, hope to chat off and on with you all. Hope we all have very happy, healthy pregnancies. Take care! Oh, due date is approximately June 16th, but have doc appointment on Nov. 5th so will know for sure soon.

Welcome to the new gals :) According to the calendars I'm in week 7 (6 weeks pregnant?) Last week, I had intermittent back pain and pain on my left side when I slept. I could only sleep on my right side. There was one night last week where I woke up at 3am and I couldn't lay in bed because it was killing me so I went on the computer to look at all possible scenarios (ligament stretching, to ovary cyst, to ectopic pregnancy). Funny, by the time I looked up all the worse possible scenarios, I felt fine and went back to bed.

The last 3 days I've had no more back or side pain. Actually I feel totally fine. No gas, nausea, cravings, no extra tiredness -- nothing. Hope it stays that way but I don't think the nausea is supposed to hit for another week or two. I'm trying to eat healthy and keep up my jogging. But jogging feels a little weird. I don't know how people keep jogging throughout pregnancy. I did some rollerblading yesterday which felt great but I probably won't be able to do much more of that since the weather is getting colder.

How's everyone feeling and what are you guys doing for exercise?

kare.bear

According to the calendar, I'm in week six but I'm not going to be surprised if the Dr changes that at my first appointment. I suspect I ovulated late...

Anyway, I'm all emotional today. Extra touchy about everything and am taking everything personally. But, that is better than last week when everthing made me mad! I can laugh now, but last week we went out to eat at TGI Fridays and I asked the waitress for nutritional info on my meal (I'm trying to track fat and sodium content to ensure I'm eating healthier than last time round). Well, she told me they don't provide that info and I should just call their home office. I did try but was told everyone was in a mandatory meeting...I was SOOO upset, I started writing a formal complaint to our state's Attorney General. About an hour later I went "WHOA....do we think perhaps this is related to our hormones right now...should we perhaps see if we feel so passionately about this in a few days?"....I didn't feel as passionately about it by the weekend...

I can laugh about it now, but still find myself almost in tears over some little, perceived slight that didn't actually happen. Can't wait until the hormones balance themselves out a bit. If I recall from last time, they balanced out around week 10 for me and then went wacko again around week 32 to the end...

As far as exercise, right now the only exercise I'm getting is keeping up with the laundry and feeding and cuddling my 5 month old. Should be doing so much more but that's all I have energy for.

Hello all! hope everyone had a good weekend. I took my almost 2 ds out trick or treating on saturday, though i had some spotting since early in the afternoon, once i got him to bed i went to the er, after what felt like a million tests, i got my first ultrasound YAY, got to hear the heartbeat and get a pic, though at 8 weeks there isnt much to see. So they dont know why i was bleeding but they said to take it easy. So im a little freaked cause im scared of miscarrying but i know whatever happens i will do my best to deal. But that being said im not exercising at all right now more than trying to keep up with my son.

Thanks for listening i needed a place to grip for a little while. Hope everyone else is doing good.

Hello ladies! I had my first appointment today and got my official due date of 21 June. They based this off of when I know I ovulated and off of my ultrasound. The heartbeat is 140 and the baby looks like a blob right now. I left the docs office a very happy camper and I survived the blood work. I have been super fatigued as of late but my doc reassured me that the fatigue will pass with the first trimester. I can't wait! I think my hubs is ready for the first trimester to be over too. I have been so f*in cranky lately and I know it's due to the tiredness and I just don't know how to reign it in. I guess in my mind it is better to be cranky towards the hubs than towards my son.
I hope everyone is feeling good and enjoying these first few weeks of pregnancy. I will try to reply to everyone individually tomorrow, but for now, I am off to bed! Chat with you ladies later.

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I'm due June 14. This will be our first and we are so excited. I was reading the back post's and you all seem very nice. I have to admit being pregnant is very intresting. Between being sick all the time, and my mouth filter being completly broke. I wonder if I'm going insane instead of being pregnant. Does this get better. Being sick does not bother me, but saying what I'm thinking is not always a good thing. Sometimes DH looks at me like I have grown a second head. Please tell me there is hope, that my mouth filter will be fixed soon. have a great day!

First- in a word, yes, it does get better. Hopefully the sickness will pass soon and the verbal vomit should cease as well. Congrats and welcome to the group.

Sam-- how did your appointment go? I hope everything went well and you got a lot of good info from your doc! Hurry up and get on here to let us know how it went!

Did someone else have an appointment this week? I thought there was one more. Sorry I can't remember exactly who it was but get your butt on here and let us all know how it went!

Welcome to the new ladies, it's good to have more June mommies.

As for me, the nausea is getting worse, I actually got sick the other morning. Oddly enough, grape juice isn't that bad coming back up. (sorry gross I know) I also haven't been sleeping very well but the doc said that should subside at the end of the first trimester. Good god I hope so! Other than that, everything is going well. I hope things are going great for everyone else and can't wait to hear how everyone's appointments have gone. Chat later!

Hey ladies! I hope you guys don't mind, I'm going to join in on this board until the July board picks up. There is no one on there right now. I'm in my 5th week, due July 11th at the moment. I haven't seen the doctor yet though, just a nurse. She said my due date could change. My first appointment is Thursday. I can't wait...I'm so nervous something is wrong. I think it's because I've waited so long for this that I'm scared of something happening. Going to the doctor on Thursday will hopefully relieve me. Good luck to all you ladies!

Nothing going on with me. The nausea hasn't been bad lately but then I have been on days off. I only notice it when I work because I am up. Off topic, I am taking Tiarnan to get his 2 year old pictures taken today. I can't believe he is going to be 2 in a week and one day! My baby is growing up so quickly! Well, had a pretty crappy day yesterday... I've had some bleeding for over a week. I didn't panic because I had bleeding with my first pregnancy, but Sunday it began to get heavier so I made an appt yesterday. They did an ultrasound and said they can see a gestational sac but cannot see any embryonic activity inside which means one of two things: Either I'm not as far along as the calendar would say (I suspect I ovulated late, so I'm holding onto this one) or I'm losing the pregnancy. I did a baseline HCG blood test yesterday and they'll do another on Wednesday. If my numbers are doubling like they should, then probably scenario number one. If not, then ... Either way, they are concerned with the amount of blood I've been having.

I hope Wed numbers look good and the bleeding stops soon. Say a prayer for me today.

Thanks!

hey everyone! sorry i havent been on, i live in florida and ive been watching ida, though it did almost nothing, thank goodness! ive been doing better, less nausea which is nice. still a little tired which i hope will go away soon since work is putting me on the overnight shift for a little while, hope i dont fall asleep at work.

Hard- i know what you mean about your baby growing up, mine turns 2 on the 14th and i cant believe its been so long! though he is getting huge, like 32 lbs!

erin-- just wanted to let you know what has helped me with the overnight shift. On my monday I make sure to get a good 4 or 5 hour nap before I go in. Luckily my mom watches Tiarnan while both the hubs and I are working, so she lets me come down early and nap there. Also, my doc says it's okay to have 2 cups of caffinated beverages a day, so I drink around 24 ounces of Coke per shift, that helps me to stay up as well. I do find that the hardest day for me is Monday because I am recovering from my "Friday" flip the day before. I tend to not do a whole lot that day, and try to rest as much as I can. Also, in my job we play cards when it slows down around 3am, when I notice that I am getting really tired I suggest a game to help keep me awake. I hope these suggestions help and I am sure you will do fine. Good luck when the switch you!

Kare.bear-- fingers crossed for you that everything is fine. Let us know!

Well, the Dr told me we could be "cautiously optimistic". My HCG's went from the 14k's to the 19k's. They didn't double like she would like, but they are definitely going up. Still unsure where the bleeding is coming from, but it is starting to slow down, so that is good. Dr cancelled my 9 week appointment for next week and said we'd do another ultrasound in 10 days to see if any activity can be detected. So, here's to a long 10 days of hoping :)

Hello ladies! I had my first OB visit today. They didn't do much...just drew blood. Also, between the practioner and my husband they talked me into getting the H1N1 vaccine and I'm still a nervous wreck about it. I hope everything is okay with the baby...I know there isn't much testing on this yet. Hope you ladies are doing well!

Kare.Bear- Hope everything turns out okay. I know you must be extremely worried! Good luck!

Hi Ladies, I am sorry I have not been on in awhile. Things have been a bit hectic to say the least. I have my next doctors appointment on Thursday the 19th where we will actually get to hear the heart beat and have an ultra sound so we are very excited. The morning sickness has decreases A LOT, thank goodness. I started taking B6 as told to by the nurse in my OB/GYN and I believe that has helped some. Still feeling a bit tired and my back is beginning to bother me because of my chest which seems like it can't grow anymore, keeps expanding.

Does anyone have any advice from past pregnancies for stretch marks and itchy skin? My chest seems to be beginning to get some marks and is itchy like crazy.

I am sorry I am not responding to each lady, I have to get ready for church but I hope everyone is doing well and will try to check back soon. Take care Ladies!!

sam- unfortunately for the stretch marks there isn't a whole lot you can do. If you are going to get them, you will get them. I have heard that Palmer's Coco Butter will help minimize them but won't keep them away entirely. The lotion will help with the itching. The itching is caused by the stretching of the skin so put lotion on after every shower. I am glad that the morning sickness has subsided and have fun at the ultrasound!

Tiffany- glad the appt went so well. The blood draw is the worst! I am sure that you and the baby will be fine after the H1N1 shot. Let us know and keep us updated.

erin- I hope you aren't on the shift long either. Maybe you could bring crossword or wordsearch puzzles to keep you occupied and your mind active. If you have the internet on the computer that will help as well.

I am doing okay. The nausea did not go away in fact it has gotten worse. I am also fighting what I think is the beginning of a head cold, so that sucks! Gotta go, the boys are home from the grocery store. Chat more later.

Sam- for the stretch marks there is a lotion that the body shop makes, cant remember the name but it help make them less noticeable. though i didnt find it till after i had my ds, but i got a TON of stretch marks with him.

Hard- thats what i did before work i went to the store a got a big book of puzzles so i can stay awake. i was told today that i should be going back to day shift on the 30th, so lets hope that keeps.

I am doing good, have my first real appointment tomorrow, i think we get an ultrasound so i am excited even my dh is coming! cant wait.

Hi gals! I am new to the board and have never joined anything like this in past pregnancies! I have 8 weeks 3 days and am due June 27th! Had my second dr appt yesterday with another ultrasound and things are going great! Babys heartbeat was 175! Doctor is really on top of this pregnancy since my last one that ended at 15 weeks was about 3 years ago so its tough waiting to make it past that point! Glad I can actually have someone to share things with as my husband and I are not telling anyone until we get past 15 weeks!

Hey Ladies!

Just got home from our appointment. The doctor said the baby looks nice and healthy. We were relieved to only see one, since there are so many twins in our families. We saw the little peanut as well as the heart beat, which was amazing. The doctor believe we miscalculated a bit and not as far as we thought. She has changed the due date 5 days to June 23rd! We were just so excited to see the baby and hear that he/she is healthy so I didn't mind.

Other then that, all is well. My symptoms aren't too bad lately so I am happy about that. Welcome, to all the new ladies, I hope everything is going well. I have to run though, talk to you ladies soon!

Bad news at the ultrasound today. They were able to verify that I have indeed miscarried... I haven't spoken yet to the Dr, so don't know if a procedure will be suggested or I'll just move on. I pretty much thought that's what I'd hear and, while I'm disappointed, I think I'm handling it ok... Tonight I'll go home and hold my dd really tight and thank God for blessing me with such a healthy baby already. Perhaps in a few months we'll try again.

I am excited for each of you and wish you all happy, healthy pregnancies. You'll see me elsewhere on the boards.

Best Wishes.

Welcome to all the new ladies and congratulations! Please feel free to ask any questions as nothing is off limits in pregnancy.

Not much new for me, this is my last night on the midnight shift so I am looking foward to a normal sleep pattern. BFP stands for Big Fat Positive on a home pregnancy test (or in my mind the F stands for f*ing because I have a potty mouth). Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope you are able to enjoy it. This is awesome im so excited to actually have someone to talk to. I have lots of questions... like does everyone get little bumps on their breasts? When do I need to start wearing maternity clothes? And the most important thing is this morning I woke up with this awful pain in my stomach that lasted about 30 minutes. I was in tears! Whats happening there?

hardworkinmama
11-26-2009, 08:14 PM
bumps on the breasts-- around the nipples mainly as those are the ends of the milk ducts and where the milk comes out when you breast feed.

I wouldnt worry about maternity clothes until later. This being your first PG you most likely wont show for a while. Definitely wait until you start showing to buy the clothes that way you will know what fits and whats comfy for you.

It's hard to say about the pain in your stomach. Was it shooting pain? A steady pain? Was it a cramping sensation. I would think that if it was not accompianied by any bleeding then you should be okay. It could also be stretching of you stomach muscles. I know with me, the muscles on the top of the stomach just under the breasts, goes numb around week 12 or so and stays that way till I deliver.

HTH (hope this helps) and look forward to chatting with you soon.

SConcreteAngel
11-26-2009, 09:19 PM
it was like a shooting pain in the same area u go numb. it was aweful. so when do u find out what it is? Im so cerious. I want to start buying baby clothes and bedding and all that fun stuff. Hows ur pregnancy going? and how was your thanksgiving?

hardworkinmama
11-27-2009, 11:48 AM
Since the shooting pain was in the same place that I go numb and it only lasted 1/2 an hour then I am going to say that the pain was just the stretching of your stomach muscles. It's not anything to worry about.
I believe that doctors can tell the gender by ultrasound starting at 16 weeks, but most of them will wait until 20 weeks just to be sure. At 16 weeks there is still a chance of them being wrong. You can start buying some clothes now, just make sure they are gender neutral, same with the bedding. And if you are planning on having more children some day then the bedding can be saved for later use. That's what I did. I bought an under the sea theme for the bedding that can be used for both boys or girls. I know it is all exciting and it seems like it will be FOREVER before you find out the gender or before the baby arrives, but I promise you, when those days do get here you will be thinking "where did the time go!? I am not ready!". But you will be.
I am just wondering, you haven't mentioned anything about a boyfriend or a husband. Do you have a support system in place? I hope so, because even though I am married, I relied on more than just my husband in those first few months. It is tough with a new baby in the house, I am not trying to scare you, I just want to be sure that you prepared. We have plenty of time to help get you there.
Have you had your first doctors appointment yet? Judging by your due date I am guessing that you are 13 weeks along? I go for my second appointment on Monday and I am super excited. My pregnancy has been going well, a litlle bit of nausea here and there, and lots of fatigue that seems to finally be letting up. Other than that, no sysmptoms or pains. I guess I am one of the lucky ones when it comes to pregnancy.
Thanksgiving was alright, I was working all day (which is normal for me) and my hubs and son went to dinner with his family. It was slow at work so the day kinda dragged on but people brought in leftovers so I still got the dinner.

My nausea is going away FINALLY!!!!! Im so relieved that the "woo" in coming back between me and him.
Sorry you had to work on Thanksgiving. Im sure you would have rather been with your family. Thats good that you got leftover I have always loved eating a days worth of food in one sitting just because. Lol.

firston-- Congratulations! It is good to have you join us and hopefully you will be able to come out of your shell. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask, nothing is off limits when you are pregnant. When is your due date?
Sorry to hear about the nightmares. PG dreams are always more vivid and seem to be more real. Just remember that your dreams are your brains way of processing the things that happen while you are awake. The only thing I can suggest to try and subside the nightmares is to try and think of only positive things before you fall asleep. I don't have any advice on the in-law situation, as I have never been in anything similiar. Maybe have a talk with your fiance (alone) and try to agree to not let her get in the way. Another option is to ask her to move out. I know that may be very hard to do but it sounds as though you both are enabling her since she won't do what she needs to to get better.

Sarah-- It's good to hear that you have support, hopefully you have some friends nearby that are supportive as well. I am a firm believer in that you can never have too many people in your corner! I am also glad to hear that your nausea is going away and the spark is coming back. Mine still hasn't yet but hopefully soon. My hubs was ready for it this time around.
My name is Heather, I am 30 years old (I know, I know, I am getting to be an old lady! HA!) and I have been married for almost 3 1/2 years. We have a son that just turned 2 and boy does he keep me busy. I am a police dispatcher and I absolutely love my job. We are "open" 24/7/365 so holidays are just like any other day for us. To me, any day that you get to spend with family is a good day and my family understands. Before I got into this line of work I was in restaraunt management so they are used to doing holidays not on the holiday. The plus side of working holidays is the pay, we get paid for both Thanksgiving and the day after so I use that money for Christmas presents.

So now that I have written a novel, I am gonna get off of here. Not much to report with me, just fighting the fatigue as work is super slow. Chat with ya later.

firston- Good to hear your finally opening up. It good to have someone to talk to. As for the dreams I have always had crazy real feeling dreams and since ive been pregnant I have had all sorts of dream. Once I had one were I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and had a mc. I woke up actually thinking it happened. But it didnt so thats good. I havent had one in a few weeks so hopefully your will go away soon as mine has. And for the In'Law I have lived with both of mine and the mother was the worst I think its a possesion thing. We fought like crazy. It hurt to but she was always drinking and saying things she shouldnt that upset me. Just learn to ignore it and sit and talk with her. Tell her she needs to either start helping herself or youll stop helping her. Get her motivated to want.

I think it is the longest, the rest seem to go pretty quickly. I am only on this regular shift till mid-January then I go back to a midnight shift. Thanks for your support. I wish my MIl could move out, but she has congestive heart failure and more than likely will not be with us next year. Her heart is working at @25% right now, down 15% from June. I just needed to vent. She told her doctor last week, she just wants to die, and my husband is an only child so he is a mess. I know i need to have more patience, but I had only a few with her to begin with and it seems worse now.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with crazy dreams. I thought I was going nuts or something. I'm 31 and I'm due June 14, wich is funny, we started dating june 6, 2002 and were married june 11, 2005 so june seems to be a lucky month for us.
Are any of you finding out what your having? We have decided not to. Also are any of you have an ERA done. Mine is wednesday, due to one of my asthma meds I was on, and being high risk. I also have to go weekly now, till next week, then they will hopefully make it every couple of weeks Thanks Again, S

Sarah, when do you find out. I can mid January, it could be a great new years suprise for you! My sis who also is prego finds out wednesday, she wants everything either hot pink or lime green. My whole house is neutral so I'm ok with it. I think I'm doing yellow and like a dusty sage green. I think were moving in Sept so I wont do much in this house anyhow, but I figured out which room will be the nursery in the other house and how I want it to look, lol. Have a great night, S

I will probley find out dec 30th. (my next app.) but the doctor said it wont be a 100% since it will only be 18 weeks. Me and my fiance are big hunters and want camo print for the baby. Pink camo for girl and blue camo for boy.
I have a question on cribs. What kind are you getting. I have read that the only true safe one it one that does not have wheels and the front isnt drop kind. Im worried about it because my fiances mom is buying us one and i dont want to be like "only this kind!!!!!"
So, are you showing yet? I think i am. not sure all i know is my pants are not comfy anymore if i button them.

We boughht our crib 2 years ago, when we were going to adopt. It is a 4-1, and they are stable, and I dont know if I have even seen wheels on a crib. I know most people like the dropped sides, but I like having something I will get tons of use out of, so something that will go from now till college works for me. Also there was just a huge recall on dropped sided ones. It really depends on what you like. My DH picks on my because I read everything I can find on anything then make a decision. It took 3 weeks for me to decide on a washer, lol. Also do you have a small nursery. Mine will be 10 X12 so I'm not that worried, but if space is an issue you may want a smaller crib like IKEA makes. Do you have anything in mind yet? S

I did not see your lost ?. Before i knew I was prego my pants started giving me a stomach ache, so I bought a few new pair. I'm larger so I thought i just gained extra weight. I have actually lost 14 lbs since getting pregnant, but I put on my dress pants on thanksgiving and felt like a turkey. My tummy is definatly larger but I think I have lost the weight in my arms and legs. I think I'm actually gone up one size in paints and definatly in bra's, lol. I actually ordered maturnity dress pants for christmas the other day, I figured this is the week for shopping, so I might as well shop and get the online discounts, (JCPenny's had maturnity clothes onsale) have a good day. at walmart they have cribs that have wheel which i think is odd and i hope thats not the kind i get. I think im going to be like you and be very picky. I mean it my first baby! I saw that there was a recall but does that mean all drop sides are gone or just some brands who have had problems? Im keeping the baby in our room for the first 6 months or so. I only have a 2 bedroom apartment with roommates. We have a huge room so half will be our and the other half the babys. But im still doing research on baby items. nothing in mind quite yet.
Im still not sure about me showing I know ive gained weight, actually 7 lbs. but i think its all in my hips and boobs. Is the jcpennys sale online only also in stores?whens ur next doctors appointment?

I have 2 cats and I think they new before we did, the older one is never cuddly but he started cuddling with me after I was about the first week. We thought he was just being strange. The little one started ignoring me and would not come near me, now he cuddles up to my stomach and purrs for hours. I think they have internal sensors.
Are the cribs in walmart on wheels just for storage purposes or do they come with wheels? I never have paid attention, lol.Gotta Go MiL is getting into crap. It's like having a little kid you cant dicipline! UUHGGHHHH!

Hey ladies! Sorry I haven't been on in awhile, super busy over days off. I had my second appt on Monday and everything is well. Heard the heartbeat and doc said it sounded great. She was running behind so she wasn't with me for long, which is fine. I have been going to her since I was 19 so I know that if I had had questions, she would have taken the time to answer them. Anyway, not much new here. Still super fatigued but I seem to be sleeping through the nausea now that I have switched shifts. Other than that, nothing new.
Just a tip: Don't go to Kohl's for maternity clothes shopping. Thier selection is super crappy! They have maybe 3 racks of clothing to pick from and if you are on the shorter side, then you are screwed! I will be going to Walmart, Kmart, or Target for my clothing from now on.

Hey girls. I am joining for the first time. I am due on June the 17th. This is will be my third child. I have a son who is 8 and a daughter who is 4. Everything seems to be going well so far. I have just started getting nauseous. The last few days I have been really tired, moody!!! and feeling sick. I have a dr appt Dec. 10 to measure the baby's nuchal fold, to check for signs of Downs. I don't have a history, but I am 36. I guess that puts me into a different category than when I had my other two. I just bought a belly band today at Target. My pants are getting tight. I ordered a B Buckle today as well. It is one of the more practical things I have seen. It wraps around the two belt loops closest to the button and has cute sayings like mamasita or rock star mama. They look cute in the picture, I just hope they work and I can wear my regular jeans a while longer. As long as my legs and butt don't go overboard!!! My boobs have already went up at least one size!! Well, I am glad I found this board to share along with everyone. I will try to keep up with everyone. This is a big difference from my first pg when I had no one to talk to. Thanks for listening.

I saw that they have at home tests for gender that are 80% accurate, but I don't know about that. I guess I will be able to find out sometime in January. When are you in June are you due? SC- sorry the nausea got worse. My mom said that with me she had to have crackers by the bed and eat some before she even got out of bed to stave it off. I hope it goes away very soon for you.

Things are going well for me. The cravings are starting to kick in, not the f*d up kind like pickles and ice cream, but when I see/hear of certain foods I want them and I can't think of eating anything else. SC-- I am glad that all the sickness went away and you didn't need the meds. That is wonderful to hear. I hope you enjoy the classes and I hope that they are helpful to you. Let us know how they go.

As for me, I have all of my Christmas shopping done and am almost done wrapping everything. I went shopping with my mom on Tuesday and after doing some talking we think I might have gestational diabetes. I have had some episodes where if I don't eat soon enough then I come close to passing out. I can feel it coming on and I get really hot, then I start shaking. I have not actually passed out but I think that if I were to see it through (so to speak) then I would. Usually a big glass of water helps bring me out of it but eating it the thing that really makes everything okay. I also mentioned that I feel like I need to be drinking something at all times otherwise I get really bad dry mouth. My mom (who has diabetes) said that dry mouth is a sign. I am going to the doc on the 28th, so I will be sure to mention it then. I might have to do the gluscose test earlier than the 25 week appointment. I hope it's not GD but if it is I will deal.
I have also noticed that the fatigue has not only NOT gone away, but it's getting worse! I am tired ALL. THE. TIME.! It sucks. My poor son just wants to play with me but all I want to do is lay on the couch. I hope this goes away soon or I might go crazy.

Hope things are going well with all of you ladies. I will keep everyone updated once I go back to the docs. Chat later!

Hard- I know for a fact that pregnant woman are prone to Hypo-Gylcemia(sp?) I have it already and it sounds like u have the same issue. If you dont eat every like 3-4 you will feel like u will pass out and must eat asap. Ive passed out 3 times since it started acting out my freshman year in HS. Its not fun. Eating fatty foods or taking a sugar shot helps.

Well I havent gotten sick at all! So exciting! Im very tired to during the day but when it comes to night time im wide awake weither i took a nap during the day or not. Since you have pnuemonia I would suggest getting the xray. They can always put a lead sheet over your belly to protect baby if you ask. I am sure they wouldn't have suggested it if it wasn't safe. I hope you feel better soon!

X-rays are dangerous to the fetus when pregnant. When you have pneumonia, it takes at least 6 weeks after your infection has cleared to get a real accurate X-ray reading to see if the pneumonia has cleared. However, if you have a patient that is REALLY ill, you have to outweigh the risks vs. the benefits. If your pneumonia or symptoms are significantly worsening, having an X-ray may help determine if you need IV antibiotics or hospitalization. In that case, it would be better to have the X-ray and treat mom's illness rather than risk the baby getting ill or having effects from a pneumonia that was not adequately treated. If it is a mild case of pneumonia, it may be worth just treating the pneumonia rather than getting an X-ray and take a chance of putting the baby at risk. Hope this helps you in your decision.

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear about your leg pain, I have no idea what that could be and good luck to you. I feel silly but I do have another question. My OB wants a level 2 ultra sound, because in the past I was on daily steroids for my asthma. I have been off them since last december but recently had to start taking them again with the pnemonia. Is this normal, something I should worry about, or just an over cautious Dr? I guess I'm just a big worry wart any ways. Thanks S

Happy Holidays, ladies! I hope everyone is doing well.

Sarah-- I have no idea if that is normal or not as I have not dealt with it. Have you at least called the doctor's office and spoken with a nurse? I would do that and then mention it again at your appointment.

first-- I would think that your doc is being cautious. Try not to worry so much, you have plenty of time to worry in the future.

Things are going well here. I go for my next appointment on Monday and we will see what the doc says about my dry mouth and blood sugar drops (at least that's what I think they are). I have just been spending my time working and playing with Tiarnan, so the days are going by fast. Hope every one has a wonderful holiday and chat with you all later.

Hi ladies! I am 36 yrs. old and pregnant with my first. I am just over 15 weeks now and due on June 18th. I am really excited to chat with you as I have been reading this thread for a while and it's helped me calm down a bit to know I am not alone. I had a scare just over a week ago with a blood clot in my uterus- my hubby and I thought for sure we had lost our baby but everything had worked out fine and it's still doing good. I have not found out the sex yet but we have our appt. on January 18th and can't wait! I have been experiencing cramping lately and have been pretty worried. Has anyone else been feeling this? I haven't felt the baby move either and can't wait for that. I hope everyone had a great holiday!

So for about a week now I was unsure if I was feeling the baby move. But on Christmas morning as soon as I woke up and felt it I just knew it was. Its so weird feeling almost like popcorn being popped in my belly. Very soft and sweet. I love it and cant wait to feel it again. Im 17 weeks today and have a dr appointment wed to find out the sex. So I'm very excited. My SIN and Nephew are going with me. My SIN is going to Iraq in Jan so hopefully the baby will have his/her legs spread for us.
Hope everyone else is doing good! Can't wait to see what everyone else is having. Are you ladys feeling any movement yet?

sc- i have been having the same feeling, almost like butterflies! isnt it amazing! i cant wait to find out what were having though it wont be till after jan 20th, since thats what my doc put on the order.
I'm doing ok, ive been sick for a while so just trying to get over the sinus congestion.

I hope everyone is doing well. My fibroids are kicking my behind. I have pain in my belly daily but it's tolerable. Now, I think I have a UTI and I am very uncomfortable. I will be calling my OB tomorrow am first thing. Can someone please tell me what "Bfp" stands for. Hope everyone else is doing well. I can feel the baby move but it's not been pleasant because the baby is lying on a fibroid. It feels liks a knife stabbing my uterus. Hopefully, that will improve with time cause I am feeling a little down and blue since all these problems are occurring with my pregnancy. I am trying to stay encouraged thinking about the end product but it's hard at times.

Ly-- BFP simply stands for Big Fat Positive (or if you have a potty mouth like me big f*ing positive) on a home pregnancy test. I am sorry that you are having problems with the pregnancy, I hope things get better. Hopefully the baby will move and you can start having the joy of getting kicked in the bladder instead of a fibriod.

erin-- sorry about the sinus congestion, it is no fun to blow your nose multiple times a day! I hope you get better soon.

sarah-- I hope the baby cooperates today! I do believe you will be the first on here to find out the sex. Good luck and I hope she/he is super healthy!

chrome-- congratulations on your first pregnancy! I am glad your issue last week was just a scare and your little one is doing great. Cramping is normal, I have had plenty with this LO. If you have any questions please feel free to ask as nothing is off limits when you are PG.

As for me, I had my 15 week check up on Monday and the doc said everything looked and sounded great. My LO was hiding and the doc had some trouble finding the heartbeat but she found it. I asked about the blood sugar drops and the dry mouth, she said that since I was not throwing any sugar into my urine that I was most likely fine. She said to be sure to have jolly ranchers or something with me at all times so I can grab something when I start to feel woozy. With the dry mouth she said to just try to drink more. Other than that things are goin good. I have my next appointment on Jan 28th and hopefully we will be able to find out the sex that same day. Chat with you all later!

Hey mommies! Hope all is going well, who's coming up for their anatomy appt to find out their baby's sex?!I'm only 11days away from mine, and counting down! Lots of upper back pain. I have to admit I was a bra size A before getting preggo with my dd last 2007, and was a C afterwards. I'm honestly dreading how full I'll get this time around, dr and I have talked about a breast reduction after i've finished bfing baby #2, I'm just a small person, who comes from a family that runs quite large in the top half after giving birth. Probably has a lot to do with the upper back pain I've started having. lol.

A mommy brought up a good point about feeling short with their first child. And I will be the 2nd to admit I feel like my nerves are shot 24/7, the more preggo I become the more short tempered I am. Partially bc my dd is now in the "terrible twos" and partially because I'm so exhausted all the time from running after her all day. So don't feel bad if you're in the same spot as me. They do understand, and we're already so far along in our pregnancies. Luckly for us, it's going to go by even faster since we've got our little ones to look after all the time! They know we love them.

So..... -drum roll please- Lol
ITS A GIRL!!!!
So exciting. at first the ambilical (sp?) cord was in the way but it moved and we saw a hamburger! Lol. She weighs 7 ounces! Getting so big!
When I found out I went to Wal-Mart and got lots of pink balloons and car paint and wrote all over DH truck and got a friend to tell him that someone was breaking into his truck. He came out ready to fight and saw all the writing! He is soooo happy to be getting his daddys little girl.
My due date was changed to June 5th so that made me 17 wks and 4 days when I found out.
Hope you all are doing good!
PS We picked a name out. She is going to be named Peyton Elizabeth.

Congrats SC!! We will be finding our our baby #2's sex in a few days! I have that mother's intuition like I did with my dd, that this one's a boy. But we will see!! I LOVE the idea of what you did for your hubby. Although my hubby took off work so he'll be going with me.

Can I ask a question to all you moms!? If you're finding out the sex, are you going to tell everyone right away? If you aren't what are your reasons? And if you are telling everyone right away how do you plan on doing it, anything special?

I have to admit I'd kind of like to hold on to the secret for a few weeks so my hubby and I can discuss and decide on a baby name without everyone's input. Before we found out the sex of my dd 2yrs ago, people kept asking what our name picks were, and I kept getting some pretty upsetting responses from people like, "that's a terrible name," "I would never choose it," as well from my MIL who works with children that have disabilities, "that she associates a certain name with a child that she teaches." Which was really just rude, from my opinion. I kind of would just like to pick the name between my husband and I, then tell people the baby's sex and name when I'm ready. Is this an outrageous thing to ask my husband to do with me? With my DD, the moment we got in the car, he was calling his mother. I get it, bc she had 4 boys, and her 1st grandchild was going to be a girl. I just kind of actually want control for this pregnancy. Sry for the ranting....

S Concrete Angel - I like the creativeness of how you notified your hubby of the baby's sex. I bet he was bent out of shape coming out of the building only to be utterly surprised. I bet that was a treat. I hope you took pics or had a video camera for that one.

I am feeling human again. My Abx (antibiotics) and the cranberry juice have kicked in and now I can pee without having to call the fire dept.! I purchased one of those maternity support belts with the velcro that fits below and above your belly... I felt relief immediately when I put it on. My fibroids are so big that when I walk, it feels like my insides are protruding and about to fall out on the floor. I could have kissed the chic at the register when I put it on. I recommend this to anyone who has belly pain, lots of pressure from the belly weight, or to others with painful fibroids like I have. I literally feel like a million bucks! I am chipper... well, enough of that soap box. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and hope everyone will be blessed, be safe, have short labor, and healthy term babies in 2010.

tmon-- I know lots of people who will tell the gender but will not reveal any names until after the baby is born simply so they don't have to deal with all of the negative comments. People seem to think that thier thoughts on a name will have bearing on what you name your child but it doesn't. I actually had someone tell me that I couldn't name my son Tiarnan because it wasn't a white persons name! He thought it was a black name! Of course there are no white or black names, just names, and Tiarnan is Celtic (we are of Irish ancestory) so we just blew him off. I guess what I am trying to say is, no that is not a silly request for you to ask your hubs to keep the gender and any names you pick a secret from others until you are ready. However, you had better tell us! ;)

Ly-- I am glad that you are feeling better! That is wonderful news, I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes fairly easy for you.

Nothing going on here, just working. I think I am going to have a steak from Applebee's because it sounds really good right now. Yeah, I think I shall have one for dinner with mashed potatos and hopefully green beans or corn. MMMM, now the only question is how long till I order it and go get it.

Wow i never thought knowing what was growing inside me would be soo emotional and unbelieveable at the same time. did all the second time mommies in here go through the same? I just cant believe it. Calling her by name when people ask, and actually saying she instead of he or she. Wow

Hardworkingmomma- totally said it right! My MIL actually said to me, when we told everyone our decided name for my dd, Kailey, that "do you realize that is an irish name?" Very rudely. BC she is a full blooded italian (not that Italians are rude, but that she wasn't happy that it was an irish name. Which makes no sense bc she knows I'm irish.) lol, so, I'm going to talk to my hubby about it today, and will let everyone know what happens. Hopefully since today is our "date day" when our dd goes with gma and gpa for a few hrs, he will be a little more understanding and willing to talk about it.

Don't worry, I WILL be telling all you great mommies on here when I find out.

SC-i definitely know how you feel right now. When we finally found out my dd was a girl, it was such a great and emotional feeling of relief and happiness. No more calling the baby, #1, or it, or baby, or he/she. lol After telling everyone our name decision, people kept saying, "don't be set on the name, bc when she comes out she might not feel like a Kailey." But throughout the rest of my pregancy, and the first moments after waking from my c-section 5 hrs after having surgery and her having being brought into this world, I saw her and held my daughter for the first time, and she truely was a Kailey. Its one of the most remarkable and unbelievable feelings I have ever had in my entire life. Life changing for sure.

I'm new here - this is my 5th kiddo. My kids range from 17 yrs to 7 yrs old. When I got pregnant this time someone said, "Congratulations!" I replied, "you congratulate on the 1st and maybe the 2nd....not on the 5th." lol I'm currently 17 wks pregnant and am just now getting "into" this again. I think I was in denial. lol Then I felt the baby move and that did it. We already know that it's a boy. Had a sonogram pretty early when the dr said I was showing to be further along than what I should have been and he couldnt find the baby's heartbeat. I didnt think we would be able to tell the gender at 13 wks, but it was plain as could be. So now I'll have 4 boys and 1 girl.
Right now I'm dealing with low back pain - dr gave me flexeril for that as he said I was having bad muscle spasms. And, I'm already feeling pelvic pain. With my last pregnancy my pelvic bone split. The dr told me if I got pregnant again it would be painful for me because of this. He was right. I ended up getting the pain around 14 wks and it is progressively getting worse. And nothing seems to help. I'm already walking like I'm 9 months pregnant. I cant imagine how it's going to be when I am 9 months.

So quick question. How far along were you with your first baby when dh could feel the kicking? I can feel it a little on the outside but I know what im feeling for and can feel on the inside too of course. Im at week 18. Will he get to feel it soon?

Tracyjtz - try a maternity support belt like I did. Go to Motherhood (if one's close to you) when in pain and try it on in the store to see if you get relief. I love mine. I have ordered a belly band on Ebay but I couldn't wait til it came in... so I purchased the belt.

I so enjoy reading everyone's posts... please keep them coming. I can feel our baby moving on the inside but hubby's not been able to feel it on the outside yet... I'm sure that won't be too far away. I gained like 2 pounds in 2 days! And it seems my boobs grew overnight (hope I don't offend anyone, but hey, we're all women)! Being this is my first pregnancy, I am very new to all this. But, pregnancy sure causes a lot of changes in your body. Did anyone experience your feet growing during your pregnancy? Did they return to their normal size after delivery... my hubby just bought me some nice boots for Christmas and I am planning to return them for the next size up just in case. I have already developed the linea nigra down my belly... it looks like someone drew on me with a marker. I am so waiting for my next appt. on Jan 19th so we can have another US. The first US showed a bird's beak, the second a peanut, the third actually looked like a baby and we could see all the limbs. I'd be curious to see what he'll look like on the next US. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Sconcrete - Thats so cool the way you told your hubby! Congrats on the girl! We are not finding out the sex!! Just our personal choice but I did notice that its hard to buy stuff when you dont know. There's not much for colors of even blankets besides pure white or yellow or green?!?! oh well! I also bought a belly band and absolutely love it! Can wear my pre-pregnancy pants unbuttoned and the belly band keeps my pants totally in place! So we will see how long I can hold out without buying anything maternity! No one knows yet and I noticed today that my shirt is pretty tight! UGH! Happy growing everyone! The shots are getting way easier to do everyday in my stomach!

So, I'm feeling Peyton move everyday now. She kicks hard enough to startle me maybe once or twice a day. Its so cute. Shes very active. And only seems to kick the front. My placenta is up and back so in the perfect position says my Dr. So im sure that has something to do with it. How about you ladys? and also when will DH be able to feel it? Im on the skinny side but not too skinny. Second time mommies when could ur DH feel your first? My DH is getting upset he can't. He is constantly trying to feel when she is kicking.

I don't remember when hubs could feel the baby move the first time around. I didn't feel him until after I knew he was a him, 20 weeks. I haven't felt this one move yet but I think the placenta might be towards the back since the doc had trouble finding the heartbeat at my last appointment. With my dd (my first pregnancy) my hubby felt her move around 23-24weeks. But my hubby felt #2 on New Years day, and I was 18weeks then. It's all in knowing your body and knowing exactly what is baby and what is bodily functions, lol. I didn't personally feel my dd inside until I was almost 19weeks, but with baby #2 I've been feeling him/or her move since 13 1/2 weeks!! It's so amazing the differences.

Lyd-I did have a growth spurt with my feet my first pregnancy. I went up a whole shoe size. Flats are great when your preggo, I really like the skechers slip on tennis shoes, they look JUST like reg tennis shoes without the tie-up laces, and when you're about due there's no need to bend down, just slip them on! And they're only around $30-40 depending on how fancy you want them to be!

I am moving in 2 weeks, and have all of my dd's clothing from birth-18months still all cleaned and boxed up, it is amazing that she even wore HALF of this stuff. We find out #2's sex on MONDAY!!! So if the baby's a boy, we'll be selling all my dd's clothing, which will be kinda renewing to empty out my basement. (as I'm typing baby #2 is kicking me in the bladder, uh. lol baby keeps me up 1/2 the night just from rolling around and kicking!!)

My MIL asked when our next appt was, and I reminded her that we have the BIG appt at the hospital on Mon. She told me she expects a call when we find out the sex. As mentioned before, we are NOT telling everyone the sex right away, just bc my pregnancy with my dd, everyone was involved, so we just want to enjoy this one as a little family. All I did was smile, I guess my hubby hasn't informed her of our decision yet. So this should be interesting! I've got news though, I'm def NOT going to tell anyone just because they're family. I dont owe it to anyone to tell them right away. They'll eventually know, but I'm ready to bask in the happiness for a while just with my hubby and daughter! I'm so happy I made the decision to keep it a secret for a while. Of course, all the mommas on here will know right away! haha

You should call her while leaving the appointment and tell her that the baby didn't cooperate. We did that to my FIL with my first because my hubs was afraid to tell his dad that our son wasn't going to be John Joseph IV. We kept the sex a secret from him until after delivery. He got over the name pretty quickly. I hope the baby does cooperate for you.

Thanks hardworking... I have the appt with the hospital for the big anatomy scan, which my dr told me is going to be about an hr long. But if for some reason, if we don't find out within that hr appt, I have a reg appt with another dr at the practice I go to the following Monday, so we'll be finding out no matter what. But i've gotten my hopes up, lol. I have a feeling it's a boy... mothers intuition. I thought my dd was a girl, and I ended up being right. Hoping I'm right again, as now my hubby's hopes are up! haha, happy and healthy is really all I could ask for though.

Great idea on the baby not cooperating tale. Then at least we could keep the secret for a week to enjoy it together as a little family. I'll def have to do that one! I don't think my husband would be able to make it all the way for delivery, I don't expect him to, but I do want to enjoy it even if it is for only a week. Since we're a military family, we're all we have, hubby, me and dd (if that makes sense.) So celebrating together is just so important to me at this point. Thanks for the idea!

SC-- Since it's your whole body and not just in the belly area I would at least ask the doctor about it. I have never had that type of experience. Are you less active now than you were before? Are you sitting or in bed a lot more? That could be part of it, but again definitely ask your doctor. I would even go so far as to call first thing Monday morning and ask the nurse if you should come in or not. Good luck!

tmon-- It makes perfect sense about family just being the 3 of you with DH in the military. We are not military but we do live in a military town. I was the one that had trouble keeping the sex a secret from his dad until delivery. I slipped once on the phone with him and called the baby a he. Joker goes "oh it's a boy huh?" My reply was I was hoping for a boy so that's what I called it. He bought it so it all worked out. And just remember that the baby may not cooperate at either U/S so be prepared for that.

As for me, I still haven't felt the baby move yet but I can feel my stomach growing. The bump is becoming more and more noticable regardless of what I am wearing, though so I know it's in there. Just under 3 weeks and I find out the sex! I am so excited and wish I had the super power to speed up time. Oh well, back to being patient! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey everyone, hope all is well. Hopefully everyone will feel some baby movement over the next week or two. I can faintly feel something in there moving around, even more when he punches my bladder. That's really fun at night when I'm lying in bed and the baby punches my bladder like Jackie Chan! Thank God for pantyliners; I should have purchased stocks in them while I'm pregnant :) We go for our anatomy US on Jan. 19th to confirm the baby's sex, etc.; we already know it's a boy but it'll be good to see the development from the last US 'til now. I chuckle everytime I see my husband's belly growing as mine grows. I've only managed to gain a measley 2# since being pregnant, whereas he's gained about 10! I think of that Slim Quick commercial when the man loses all the weight and the woman grows. Too bad he didn't get any of my morning sickness, sciatica, anemia, fatigue, leg cramps, pain, and frequent urination to go along with his weight gain. I'm all belly though and my hips and butt are wider... I can't figure where the weight has shifted from!? Is anyone else having trouble gaining weight? I don't want to look like the Good Year Blimp but a few extra pounds I'm sure will coming my way very soon. I enjoy this blog so much because I know I am not alone and others pregos have the same woes as me. My hubby is not always understanding or sympathetic, so being on here with you guys really makes my day. Wishing everyone a blessed week up ahead.

Like, the first time I felt this baby move, but then to realize that it was the last first time I would ever experience that??? Have I gone crazy???

I don't know if it was kicking or punching but it was certainly trying to get comfy! That was a very long sentence, sorry!

SC-- Angel is right! That baby of yours will be in so many different positions before it's born that you will forget that at 20 weeks it was breech! Don't worry about that until a few weeks before your due date. Just enjoy the movement and the time you have left being pregnant.

sdk-- welcome to the boards! Congrats on having another girl! Looking forward to getting to know you in these last few months of pregnancy bliss!

Hey ladies, sorry it's been a while. I did have my big U.S. last monday, and we're having another GIRL!! I'm so excited. My husband is already concrete on calling her Olivia, which I actually really like, so at least we're set. lol. It's been a busy week, I am about1/2 way through packing up my house and getting ready for the big move next wk. I'm already planning out Olivia's room in my head! My #1 dd's room is pink and green, so Olivia's is gonna be purple and yellow, or purple and blue! lol. I can't wait to go shopping for her bedroom furniture, especially since we've saved ALL my dd's clothes from birth-24 months, so we won't need any clothes.

How is everyone feeling!? I'm finally showing and starting to feel fat, I know I know, I'm preggo, it's just rough getting bigger when it took me soo long to get in shape after having my first dd. Oh well, at least my hubby and I have already decided that Olivia will be the last of our children. Since we're young, we can rethink it in 5-10yrs before it's too late.

Hopefully I can hold out as Im bursting at the seams, literally out of my clothes! lol But I was at a wedding this past weekend and had a couple of aunts ask someone else if I was expecting so thinking my belly is sticking out some but I was really trying to hold it in! But none of my sisters have noticed!lol

Take care everyone! Have another dr appt on wed this week and will see when the dr wants to do another ultrasound!

Hey ladies, hope everyone is doing well. I am 19 weeks today, and I had my Anatomy US today... everything turned out well. The baby was breech and sleep and not in the mood to be bothered. He looked up as if to say, "Oh, you again" and he waved his hand once or twice. He tried to keep his legs crossed but the US tech was too skilled for him. The US confirmed it's a boy (but we already knew from a previous US). Besides looking and feeling chubby, I feel great! I have gained 6 pounds finally! He moves around like a little bongo drum in my belly now. He moves the most at around 6am and at midnight each night. The rest of the time, he punches me in the bladder like he's preparing for a heavy weight fight, arrggghhhhh! Hubby finally got to feel the baby move and that was nice. Has anyone ever purchased a used breast pump... I am leary about that and probably will buy a new one but I was just wondering how safe they are to use. Could someone please comment on that matter. And, which bottles are easier to deal with... plastic or glass? I'd like to hear some pros and cons of each. Well prego friends, take care until the next time...

Of course talk to your doctor before taking anything, but my hubs puts one tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water and that helps the heartburn. Also try sleeping on your left side as you esophagus angles downward and to the right. I didn't get horrible heartburn so I just sat up straight until it passed so I don't have any other suggestions. Hope this helps!

San- My friend who is due the day as me.. June 5th... is going through the same. she had to go get massages every week.. but it would just come back in 2 days... well she asked her doctor and he said that her back wasnt strong enough to carry the baby... she was in an accident a long time ago. But now she has to go to Physical Theripy... You might want to ask your dr and see what he/she says about it and make sure your back is strong enough... Good luck and keep us enformed!

San- try watching how you stand. Be sure that your shoulders and hips line up with each other. Your lower back is bothering you most likely because you are over-compensating for your belly. Watch your posture with both sitting and standing along with doing stretches. Also, if you haven't already, start sleeping with a pillow between your legs. When you lay on your side the top leg pulls down on your hips and lower back which can cause pain after you have been up for a bit. I personally use a very firm pillow for between my legs and it helps relieve alot of the lower back issues. Try these and if you are still having a lot of lower back problems be sure to mention them to your doc at your next visit.

SC- take a deep breath and don't apologize for posting. That is what we are here for, to help one another. As far as Tums for heartburn, I think they are okay. At my first appointment my doc gave me a packet that had information about what kind of medicines were approved and I believe Tums was one of them. If you got a packet like I did, find it and see if it lists Tums as being okay. With your fiance, have you mentioned how violent he is in his sleep? I would suggest that the two of you trade off sleeping on the couch if it is something that he is unable to control. At least for the duration of the pregnancy as I don't think that is something worth leaving him over. The pains in your lower abdomen sound like round ligament pains. Those are normal! So are cramps throughout the pregnancy, as long as there is no bleeding along with them you don't need to worry. Try not to let so much alarm you, enjoy your pregnancy, your body will tell you if something is truely wrong.

As for me, I go on Thursday for my 20 week ultrasound/check up. Keep your fingers crossed that the little booger cooperates and shows us the goods. Once again, hubs is hoping for a girl and I am hoping for a boy. Mother's intuition is telling me boy and all the old wives tales are telling me boy also, so we will see in just over 4 days! Hope all of you and your little beans are doing well!

Hello fellow pregos, hope everyone is nearing or already had their mid-term US. We are excited about our son, but the hubby's not too thrilled with the name Jayden; he thinks it sounds "soft" - at times he has too much testosterone! He chose the middle name and I chose the first name (Jayden). He'll survive though. I get excited when I can post that I've not had any major problems this week considering all the problems I had my first 4 months. Water aerobics is doing the body good and it helps me mentally to be able to get out the house and hang with some other people for 1 hour. I can actually do some of the exercises now that my body has limbered up. Plus, it's a good workout without straining my muscles and joints so much. It's a good workout for my "mental" too because the hubby can bring on some stress at times.

SCAngel... my hubby has restless leg syndrome and I diagnosed him with PTSD from his military assignments because he fights, screams, and jumps all over the bed when he's asleep (of course, he has no idea he does it except when I tell him). Your hubby may need to have a sleep study and also evaluation for his problem so you and the baby don't end up injured and so you don't end up a statistic. Luckily for us, we have 2 other bedrooms, so when he gets to sleeping too crazy, I just pack up my 3 pillows and head to another bedroom because trying to wake him up, is like trying to wake up a bear from his winter hibrination! About the heartburn, my doc said any liquid antacid is OK so I used to carry a little bottle of mylanta in my purse. He also put me on Pepcid Complete (which I rarely used), but be sure and ask your OB about all those. Eat several SMALL meals each day and avoid drinking and eating at the same time... at least that helped me. Ask them for a list of approved meds for certain pregnancy symptoms... my OB gave me one in my OB packet at my first visit.

San... I sleep with a body pillow. I put the bottom part between my legs and the top part under my belly so I can lie on my left side. I also have a small roll pillow behind my back so I don't roll over into my favorite sleeping position... my right side which is unhealthy for the baby. Plus, half the time my legs cramp and get numbness at night, so the body pillow makes that more comfortable. I also wear the tummy support during the day which really helps the back ache because it gives me a little support.

Well ladies, I wish everyone a blessed, healthy, problem-free, and stress-free week. We are half-way there!!!!!

Woohoo the baby cooperated! We are having another little boy and I couldn't be happier! Now we just have to agree on a name. We have started tossing a few around and have decided that Michael is going to be the middle name. We went with Michael as it covers my dad, my brother, and my hubby's brother. 3 birds, 1 stone!

How is everyone else doing? Our board has been a bit dead lately. Anybody else have thier big sono yet and find out the sex? Is anyone not finding out the sex until delivery? I hope everyone is doing well and things are great! Chat later.

Happy Friday, fellow pregos. I have had a stressful roller coaster week, but hopefully the weekend will be much better. The baby continues to be a little acrobat in my belly but other than that, I am doing well. I found a lady with a TON of baby clothes and stuff for sale dirt cheap and I got started with a few items of NB, 0-3 mos, and 3-6 mos. That worked out great considering I have been unemployed for 7 months and have no income of my own. When did you all start buying baby items? Some people say I'm starting late, and others say I'm going buying things too early. The major stuff (bed, stroller, carseat, etc.) we will buy in about 2 months unless I run across another great sale. I like to swipe up good deals but I don't want to buy TOO soon; sometimes, you'll end up with so much stuff you don't know what to do with it. I wanted to wait until after 20 weeks to start buying items. I am having a problem sleeping on my left side... my body likes sleeping on my back so I am constantly trying to turn back over. I even have a pillow under my back (and a body pillow on my left side) so I won't turn over, but I wake up lying on top of the back pillow! My goodness. Well, hope you ladies have a great weekend.

Hey ladies, it's been a few weeks. We've finally decided on a name for our 2nd daughter to come, Olivia Joy!! I'm so excited! I was hospitalized about a week ago, trouble breathing, severe back and chest pains for 2 1/2hrs. My o2 stats were very low, my oxygen intake was only at 90%. Ends up that I have very severe reflux... unfortunately, other than antacids the only other thing I can do, per drs orders is to sleep sitting up for the rest of my pregnancy. Dr is concerned that if this happens again the baby or I could both get hurt because of the decrease in oxygen intake for such a long period of time. Has anyone started gaining the big lbs yet? lol, i'm doing quite well this pregnancy around, only 3lbs so far!! We're moving on sunday, kind of excited, because this will be the first move we'll be doing that I can't do any lifting or moving myself! haha

A g/f of mine had twins a month ago, one boy one girl. The little girl passed away a few nights ago, stopped breathing in her sleep. As moms, I know the power of our prayers and thoughts, so just asking that everyone pray for her right now, she's going through so much.

Hello ladies. Glad everyone is doing well. I am enjoying feeling the baby move more and more. He wakes up at his set times but other times he sneaks in some kicks and jabs. I think he had hiccoughs last night... I had these rhythmic jumps that occurred every few seconds; these lasted about 2-3 minutes. It was pretty neat to experience.

Tmonfet- Glad you're recovering from the hosp. visit and luckily it was nothing major. Just keep telling yourself that we are half way there. I had a bad first 4 months, so this past month has been a dream. I hope the rest of my pregnancy is event-free and the same for you. I will also pray for your friend. I am sure that is so tragic but thank God they still have the remaining twin to love. I'm sure nothing will replace that void, but comfort is on its way.

HWmama- I hate that you're leaving the site. I wish you the best.

SCAngel- I was laughing the whole time I was reading your last blog. I think we all have binges at times. I ate a whole bad of cinnamon soft candy on Monday... before I knew it, I looked down and the bag was empty! Our bodies are in shock from these new hungry babies we're carrying but it's all good. As long as we don't binge too often.

Where is everyone else? This blog was pretty fresh and popular at one time. I guess everyone is busy. Unfortunately I am unemployed at the moment and awaiting to start my new job. I really enjoy the online conversations we have since that keeps my mind off being confined to these 4 walls in a small town with not much to do. Well ladies, until the next time...

Hello ladies, hope all is well for you all. I am suffering from another UTI... I can't wait to pick up my Abx from Walmart in the morning! I nearly drank a gallon of cranberry juice today and I think I am turning pomegranate red from all the color in the juice :) My bladder is sore and every movement from the baby feels like little tiny knife cuts in my bladder and lower pelvis. Arrrggghhh!!! It'll be over in a few days though... at least, that's what I tell myself. Other than that, I am doing OK. I bought the cutest maternity dress and now it is tight. Heck, I'm gonna wear it at least once! My belly's growing faster than I expected. I no longer wear my wedding ring because I had minor finger swelling a few weeks ago and I don't want to take the chance of not being able to get the rings off. My girlfriend had her rings cut off right before her C-sxn. last week and that's not pleasant. Outside the UTI, I am really enjoying the baby moving, and my hubby does so as well. The baby kicks so hard, my belly jiggles.

Hey ladies. Hope everyone is doing well. Lately, things with the pregnancy have been pretty much uneventful. The belly's growing and baby's moving daily. I think every time I look at my belly button, it shrinks more and more. Now, it's nearly completely flat. I had soreness and pressure in my belly about 3 days ago and it was like I could nearly feel my uterus growing. I'm back to normal now but I find, the larger my belly gets, it feels a bit heavy. My maternity support belt alleviates that issue though. Initially I was not gaining any weight due to my morning sickness, but now 12# later, the weight is starting to come on. Hopefully, I won't gain too much more. What has everyone else gained so far? I like the Birth Order of Children... that made me chuckle. I imagine we'll all start getting baby stuff and preparing our nurseries soon. I am waiting until after my baby shower in a few weeks in my home state (as I live out of state from my friends and family) until I start buying items needed (other than diapers... I'm am getting ready to start stocking up on those soon). Well take care until the next time...

This town has little to no jobs and to get a job, you must drive about 45-60 minutes away. I finally got a job at the local hosp. and am awaiting to start my first official day. I have done my orientation already and that felt great!! I can't wait to get out of the house too. People ask me if I'll be a stay-at-home mommy... I say "he* no." I am a working mom. There's a lady in my neighborhood with 2 small kids and she walks them regularly in their stroller just to get out the house. Everytime I talk to her, she sounds depressed for being at home all day with her kids. I don't want to be like that. It seems nowadays it's not cool to work while your kids are in daycare especially when they are newborn or young. People look at me funny when I tell them I work. I will be working part time even though working full time would only require 1 more shift per week but I'll enjoy the slight break I'll get. If I get bored, I have the option of full time.
I do water aerobics daily and I love it. It makes my body feel great. I hate to see the weekend come because when I don't attend, my legs, back, and hips hurt!! I really enjoy it. Everyone in the class is talking about the weight they're losing from the class. Me, I think the class helps me maintain my weight so I don't balloon out like a blimp.

How much weight has everyone gained? I've gained 15#. I think that is on target considering I was already a plus sized woman (at 167#) for my pre-pregnancy weight. Isn't that something, I don't consider 167# to be al that fat but I guess since I'm 5 feet tall, I look a little stocky :)

I don't know what's happened to our blog... it looks like everyone has disappeared except for the 3 of us. Oh well, I'll keep blogging anyway. Hey, has anyone elses's belly gotten tight. It is like I can feel my belly literally growing at times. When I did some reading, it seems they are Braxton Hicks contractions and round ligament pain. Oh well, it doesn't last long... maybe a few hours or so and it is not a periodic pain like labor.. it's more like I've just done crunches. Well ladies, until the next time... take care and happy pregnancies.

Hello ladies! How is everyone doing these days?? We had a echo-gram on babys heart with a pediatric cardiologist as I have an older son who was born with two holes in his heart and I am happy to report that this baby's heart is absolutely wonderful - no problems! So thats a relief! Its amazing the stuff they can do while baby is in the womb! Anybody feeling extremely huge these days? I have on a regular pair of my pants which are size 7 buttoned below my belly but then there is this huge belly on top of them!lol No hiding it anymore! My boss who is gone most of the winter months came back this past week and I finally told him I was pg and he's like your due in 3 months?!?! lol YEP!! Have a great weekend!

Hi June mommy's! What happened to our board?? We need to jump back on and start posting! Everything is going good here, getting bigger and bigger everyday! 8 weeks and counting until we have the baby and find out if we will have a son or daughter! Its been so hard not finding out when I have had so many ultrasounds but it was our decision! Plus shopping has been hard, even picking out a stroller/carseat! UGH!

It's good to see that someone is still on here. I hope everyone is doing OK. I am doing well except for the sciatica flare-ups and now the ankle/feet swelling. It pretty much resolves each night as I sleep with my feet propped up. The baby moves regularly and now I can distinguish his butt from his head when he seems to nearly poke out my belly at times. I wish I had a see-thru belly so I could see what he's doing at times. He be fumbling around my bladder area and that does not feel so good. But, no much longer... wow, can you guys believe we only have 4 more weeks to go? I've only gained 13# and everyone tells me I am not that big. That makes me feel self-conscious when I go to a baby store and the store employee asks, "so, who are you shopping for." I want to tell her "Damn, don't I look pregnant." I sure feel pregnant but I have not gained much weight. I am full after eating 3 bites of food but I force feed myself and eat about 6 times a day just to keep the calories in me. I am not sick or anything and all my tests are normal except I'm anemic again. I work 12 hour shifts so I am walking a lot. My pedometer told me I walked about 7000 steps on one shift last week. Maybe that plus my prior water aerobics is preventing me from gaining too much weight. At least i am not an obese monster that's gained like 100 pounds like some women do. Oh well, ladies please keep me posted and I'm glad to read the posts from the 2 others that keep this blog going. Maybe the others will get back on board.

Shannon,
Congrats on your new little guy. I wish you all of the best.

How are all of the other momma's doing? Well today is my last day of work. Maternity leave beginns. I have had no complaints about being pregnant up until now. Swollen feet. ugh...My feet hurt so bad. Gained 23 pounds. All belly so I did very well with this pregnancy compared to my daughter. My daughter is starting to get a little jealous. She will be 7 in July and now that she is having a brother, she is starting to act up, which I was expecting. Due June 3rd. Hope all of the other mommies are doing well.

Hey ladies. Glad to see everyone doing well. I guess one by one, we will be delivering. I see we already have 1 that's done so early but at least the baby's doing pretty well. I am growing! All belly though. I think I've only gained 15-17 pounds so far. My ankles stay swollen so I guess I'm normal like everyone else. My last day at work is next Thursday. My body is slowing down and I can't move as fast as I used to. The baby is low right down on my bladder. I work in the ER and do 12 hour shifts; It's very fast pace so the time passes fast, however I'm anemic again and my energy level is going to the pits. We are about to get the nursery done. We put together the crib yesterday. Til the next time ladies... ttyl.

Hey ladies, I haven't posted since early in the year because of a lot of upheaval with the site. I have been checking in on the board occassionally. I just wanted to let everyone know that Cormac (pronounced Core-mic) arrived on June 8th at 154am. He was 8lbs 1.7oz and 20 inches long. He looks just like his big brother and he couldn't be cuter. Things are going well almost 3 weeks later.
I hope everyone else is doing well and if you're still waiting on your bundle to show up, try to remember to be patient. It's hard I know, but he/she will arrive!

Hey ladies. I hope all is well for everyone. Our son Jayden arrived June 3rd at 3:06 pm weighing 6# 11 oz. He was healthy but I spent 5 days in the hosp. for extremely high BP. I am doing better now. He keeps us up most of the night because he gets his second wind between 1 and 4 am. He eats 3-4 ounces every 2-3 hours! He is so handsome and is growing like crazy! His onesies are already getting tight and short :) He just wants to be held ALL THE TIME... does anyone else have this issue? Is this is "newborn" thing? Someone, please let me know because this is my first baby and I am not used to that. Anyone hate the Huggies diapers for theurine leaking around the legs and up the baby's back and stomach? Then, I also hate the Pampers Swaddlers too because the dry max gel works its way out the diaper onto my baby's skin even if you change them every 1-2 hours?

Hey everyone! ITS A BOY!! Izack was born on 6-18-10 at 8:28pm, weighing in at 7 lbs 9.1 oz. and 19 3/4 inches long! I'm totally in love with him and yes, its hard not to want to hold him all day but I do put him down too! I absolutely hate the huggies diapers too because of the leakage! I was changing more clothes with this diapers than anything. I am currently using the pampers, just the regular ones and not the swaddlers and they seem to working out much better! Need to get back to bed! Talk to you all soon!
