No BM's

Over the last month my 4 year old has gotten himself quite constipated. The longest he's gone has been 11 days w/o a BM! He's averaging around 6 to 7 days and that's even with his doctor's advice to give him Miralax, a full capful, (which is 17grams-the adult dosage) daily! Some evenings he will even bounce around b/c you can tell he needs to go, but still refuses to. When we make him sit on the potty, he screams and crys. He's been potty trained for over a year and had no problems with the issue of going #2 on the potty. Now, when he does go, it's in his nighttime pull-up while he is sleeping.
Does anyone have any advice or has been through this?
