What do all of the abreviations mean?

I have seen so many abrevations on this board that it is hard to keep track of them all! I have figured out what many of them are, but could some of you post the ones you use and what they mean for all of us that are new to the boards? It would be very helpful!

For example DH - I am figuring this one means husband, but why the D?

Same thing for DS and DD.

Those are just a few, but any other explainations would be helpful!

I'll be the nice gal and tell you if you look up near the top of your post there a yellow square with a question mark and the letters FAQ (frequently asked questions, incase you didn't know - not trying to be rude) anyway click on that, then you'll scroll down a little under V bulletin click on "Reading & Posting Messages, the click on "What do all those abbreviations mean?". Thanks, that helped. I had tried using the FAQ before but didn't know where to look. Apparently I didn't look hard enough! That is even more abbreviations than I had seen. Thanks again.
